Cathletes Gettin' To Goal 10/18 - 10/24

Hi all!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I attempted Pure Cardio from Insanity today and the w/u alone just about killed me. LOL I just did what I could. I remember doing a little of these prior to the RT and I remember having a bit more endurance than now. I guess I need to work on this. :p

Speaking of the RT......has anyone besides Nancy seen the pics already posted? I wonder how many actually went? If that was the entire lot of them then I don't think it was anywhere near the 160 that it was limited to. I wish I was there with them. :)

Nancy, those boots are horrible! LOL Good for you on pushing through. I have days like that as well.

I guess Linda and Heather have skipped out on us. :(

Saturday Night

Hello ladies!

I ran my normal Saturday errands: grocery store& Target, then I plopped myself on the couch to watch Lifetime movies. :D Today's were all about psychotic killers! DH told me that's he's sleeping with one eye open tonight. ;)

I got in a good workout this morning. Did the SS Cardio Sculpt and PUB and a little bit of CM and some stretching. Almost 1 1/2 hours! Felt great!

I decided to get back to WW's. Not the meetings but back to counting points and tracking. I kept all of my info from the last time I joined so I know how many points I get. I even kept some tracking journals. :) I looked back over my old weight records and I am really disappointed in myself. But it is what it is, right? I started back TODAY (not waiting until Monday). So far, so good.

Rhondalyn: Kudos to you for even trying Insanity! It looks very tough. I know what you mean about endurance! Mine has dropped dramatically since the RT!! CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss this week!! YAY! Did you get that ticker working? I've had to delete mine a couple of times and start over too.
I was wondering about the Daytona Roadtrippers too. I wonder how many people went too. Wonder where the next RT will be...??
You can totally laugh at my pool story, it was funny...after I knew I wasn't going to pass out in the pool!

Speaking of Road Trips, how was you son's game, Jacque? Did they win?
Do you like your highlights yet? I'm sure they look great! Just might take time to get used to them. That happened to me recently; I thought my stylist had put too many in and they were too light. But eventually, I go used to them. 4 hours+ at the salon-wow! Do they offer you wine there? They offer it at my salon...which is one of the reasons I like it so much!
I am SO glad I didn't drown during water aerobics class. I mean, how embarrassing would that have been? LOL! :D

Nancy: I think a workout feels even better when you really have to push yourself to even do it. It's like a nice reward. I wonder is Charlene's black boots are like Debbie Siebers? I don't like her shoes. :p
My flare up seems to have subsided for now. <<fingers crossed>> And hopefully, I'll have no more "incidents" with my aqua belt. <<fingers and toes crossed>>!

I need to get dinner started. DH and I are going watch Valkyrie tonight--the one with Tom Cruise. Guess who picked the movie? ;) I got to pick the last movie: Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Which was pretty good. What's not to like about Matthew McConaughy? :D

Have a great night everyone!! See you in the next check-in!! :)

Saturday night

Hi ladies. I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing weekend. I've done absolutely nothing today. I'm feeling kind of blah so I didn't even work out.:( It might have something to do with getting back home at 2:30 in the morning from my son's game. Which they lost by the way. :( I felt like the Round Valley team had an advantage because they play in an enclosed dome and on artificial turf. Our guys aren't used to playing on that and there were a few who got hurt. Since they lost they won't have a home playoff game now which means another long trip in a couple of weeks when the playoffs start (probably Holbrook or Round Valley again it looks like. :(

Rhondalyn: I didn't know you had Insanity! I think Pure Cardio is the hardest one I've done so far (I haven't tried any of the Max ones yet) I know what you mean about the warm-up. It alone is harder than most workouts. :) Good job with getting back on track! I keep trying and my DH keeps sabotaging me! :) Today he went to the Harvest Festival and brought back ribs, burritos, salsa, fudge, kettle korn, pumpkin bread, peanut brittle, and homemade jellies. If that's not sabotage I don't know what is! It all tasted so good though.
Where did you see the photos from the Daytona RT? I wonder if the success (or non-success) of this one will determine the fate of the other ones they have planned. Sorry you're having trouble with your ticker.

Nancy: Good for you pushing through your workout! I know what you mean about those boots (obnoxious is a good word for them ;)) Chalene does has some rather flashy outfits in CLX. Are you tired of the warm-up yet? You would think she would change it up just a little bit.:p
I took the Coronado Trail up to Springerville for the game (I picked my mom up in Clifton on the way) Have you ever been on that road? It took me 4 hours to get there on that twisty (scary sometimes too) highway. I just read an article about it that says the Federal Highway Administration considers this the curviest road in the nation. It has around 450 switchbacks and a 6000 foot elevation change. Needless to say we took a different route home (through New Mexico and Mule Creek... not much better).

Lisa: Good luck with WW! I hope you have great success. :D I'm glad to hear you got a great workout in today. DH and I watched Valkyrie a few weeks ago. I used to really like Tom Cruise but I can't seem to get into his movies too much anymore. Another good movie we saw about WW2 and Germany was The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. That movie was really sad. :(

I think my hair is going to be OK. Like Lisa said, I just need to get used to it. It takes her a long time to color my hair. I have really thick hair so I'm used to 3-4 hour long appointments.

ETA:
I wanted to post a link regarding the highway I drove yesterday to the football game: http://www.byways.org/explore/byways/2059/stories/52884

And here's another interesting article: http://www.roadtripamerica.com/drives/Coronado-Trail.htm

Rhondalyn, good luck with getting up to speed with Insanity. It sounds like a lot of us suffered a bit in endurance since the RT. I imagine as soon as Shock Cardio is delivered, things will start ramping up again (sorry, Lisa :(). I've been wondering about our missing check-in pals, as well.

Lisa, I guess that was a nice way to spend the afternoon . I've never been big on scary movies, so it would have been torture to me. Best of luck with WW. Just the fact that you started immediately and didn't do the, "I'll start on Monday," thing shows that you're destined for success.

Jacque, no wonder you didn't feel like doing anything today. Just driving to Phoenix and back tires me out and that is just a straight road. It must have been tense driving not only on the Coronado Trail, but then driving back at night after such a long day -- I'm glad you made it safely. I think I may have been on that road when I was a youngster, but I'm not sure whether I just know about it or have actually experienced it. It would be no fun for me at all since I get car sick on curvy roads . When we picked up my BIL to go to Albuquerque and then to Oklahoma we went from Clifton then through Mule Creek and I had to drive as it was making me nauseous otherwise. When we came back we went a different, slightly longer but less curvy route, but can't remember exactly what it was. Hatch and through Duncan maybe? I didn't realize (or remember) that your mom lives in Clifton. I wonder if she and my BIL know each other.

I took a rest day today, as I plan to CLX PC1 tomorrow instead of Monday. I have a photo shoot for the Torch Run 2010 merchandise brochure in Phoenix all day, so I know I won't get a workout in then. I did spend the afternoon cooking up a storm, making some meals for two different friends of ours who just got out of the hospital.

You can see some pictures from the Daytona trip on the Daytona board, posted by Cynthia, photgrapher extraordinaire. I counted no more than 45 people in the group. Wow. That probably doesn't bode well for other trips. But imagine all the one-on-one Cathe time! I really think this one was just too close on the heels of the traditional RT to draw the numbers they were expecting/hoping for. I've always been curious about where they expect the draw to be for the big crowds they were talking about. I mean, there are only so many people on the boards. I wonder what type of advertising/marketing will take place to pull the people in. According to Cynthia in that same photo thread they got some previews of Shock Cardio, so I'm hoping we'll get some dish on that when the RTers get home.
