Cathe's Tapes

Hi people,
I have a question for all of you Cathe's devotees....I'm thinking about purchasing her tapes and I want to be sure before purchasing them. Are her aerobic tapes dancy, repetitive, and a lot of jumping around? I don't mind a little repetition but not crazy. I don't like dancy tapes at all. If it's slightly dancy, that's ok with me. I prefer athletic moves. I like challenging moves as well. If her tapes are anything like Kathy Smith's, please let me know because I do not like Kathy Smith. I find her too repetitive and no imagination. Kathy's workouts seems to drone on and on with same moves which drives me nuts. Please help me out here, ladies. I'm trying to lose the baby fat and it's annoying. Thanks!!! :)

Oh Maverick - I think you are in for a happy surprise with the Cathe videos. I personally wouldn't even put her into the same class as Kathy Smith. I hate many of the other home videos you are describing, never get a workout etc.

Cathe is soooo different. She is very athletic, yet she has a rhythm. She has a way of making it feel like you are "jammin" yet you are getting a killer workout. Make sense? Her music is great, she is not too chatty and has a ton of variety. I now own ALL of her videos except 2 and truly believe it will take me years to ever become tired of them. Her new Intensity Series rocks and is honestly the best videos on the market in my opinion. Another good one to start with is the CTX series. Also PowerHOur or Muscle Endurance for a total body. And of course all of the Intensity videos!

I am sure you will get all kinds of opinions and ideas on this board! Keep askin' the questions. Also, feel free to e-mail me if you want.

Good Luck and welcome to the Cathe!!!

Well, you came to the right place if you want intense, easy to learn, fun routines! Cathe is simply the best! I found her after I had my first baby (6 years) and knew she was the instructor for me! She is not very dancy, her cuing is impeccable, she is fun and keeps you motivated! :) Her Cardio Kicks is a great workout if you're looking for a floor routine. Very easy to learn and athletic based. The "danciest" tape I have of hers would be Rythmic Step. I like it but it is a bit more complex. Step Works is a great one. Max. Int. Cardio in half floor and half step it's a very fun but tough tape! She has so many to choose, you really can't go wrong! Hope this helps- Susan

You are going to be soooo pleasanlty surprised. I just bet you anything that after you've tried her workouts, you will be posting another message on these forums saying how much you like them!! Her workouts are very athletic and like LuvCardio says, they are the best on the market! They really are!

I would definitely start out with her INTENSITY series and her CTX series. Eventually you will want them all!!! They are just PHENOMENAL!!! I belong to a gym and like it, but seriously I have never gotten a better workout EVER than when I do a Cathe!!

I have all of her DVD's and just am so crazy about them!!

Thanks for getting back to me! Which work out is the half floor and half step? That sounds interesting. I prefer step over anything but I try to do a floor aerobics twice a week. (it sucks but gotta take a break from the step) The intense edition, is it all cardio or 3 tapes are cardio and 3 tapes are weights? Thanks

The CTX is more cardio focused but there is strength in there and you work 1 body part a week. Also there's a great workout in there called Leaner Legs. This one is pure strength for every muscle of the lower body. Awesome!!!

The intesity series is more strength focused, but does have cardio in there too. In the Intensity Series, Boot Camp and Cardio and Weights are Cardio/Weights workouts, IMAX2 is a cardio interval workout & the other three being strength/endurance type workouts.

Maximum Intensity Cardio is 1/2 hi-lo floor and 1/2 step. Very intense workout!!!

Cardio Kicks is straight Cardio and very fun too!! No step or any kind of equipment required for this one.
