Hi Nathalie,

Maybe try something like Videostream or Plex... https://www.howtogeek.com/233810/how-to-watch-local-video-files-on-your-chromecast/

I use Plex to wirelessly stream local video files on our desktop computer upstairs to the Roku located downstairs or pretty much any wifi device I own. What's great is you can even be away from home as long as you have an internet connection.

I'm sure there's a way to use Google Drive or Dropbox but I haven't tried those. Hopefully someone else will have some help for that.

HTH a little...

If I understand your question.... I use an app on my android called LocalCast to send my videos from my Google Drive to my chromecast to play on my big TV. It also supports playing videos from Dropbox as well as a DNLA/UPnp source.

Yes, you understood. Thanks for your answer.
This could help if I manage to get the app here in europe. I will look it up for sure.

Thanks ladies @Zenara25 and @dmerz ;)

Hi Everyone,

Retrieving this thread to share information. This is for anyone tech savy or any geek cathlete out there ;);). Well I am a learner.

What is your current set up for online access and downloads?

Here below are requirements for download for anyone who need them.

Are you ready to download?

There are a few things you should check to make sure you are fully ready to download and enjoy a CatheDownload video:

1. Are you using an internet connection capable of downloading files of this size?

Make sure your internet connection is able to handle downloading large file sizes or that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) does not put a limit on how much you can download. We recommend at least using a DSL, Cable, or faster internet connection. We strongly ADVISE AGAINST using a Dial-Up connection, there is a very good chance you will not be able to complete your download.

2. Do you have enough time to complete your download?

We do not put any time limit on our downloads, we only limit the number of attempts (or clicks). You can always purchase one day and download on another. To estimate the time it would take to download our videos, try this online tool: http://www.csgnetwork.com/csdlspeedcalc.html. Just enter the file size found in each ‘product details page’ and click ‘MB’ (megabytes). Then find your connection speed in the chart below to see your estimated download time.

3. Do you have enough hard disk space?

Many of our download files are at least 500MB – 1GB. Check that you have enough disk space on your computer to adequately store these downloads. We advise against filling your computer to its maximum capacity.

4. Minimum Hardware/Software Requirements

Mac

  • iTunes 9 or later
  • QuickTime 7.5 or later
  • Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later
  • Macintosh with a 1GHz PowerPC G4 processor or better
  • At least 2GB of RAM
  • At least 128MB of Video RAM
  • Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN)
PC

  • iTunes 9 or later
  • QuickTime 7.5 or later (included with iTunes 7.7 for Windows)
  • Zune Software 3.0 or later
  • 32-bit editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista
  • 64-bit editions of Windows Vista
  • 2GHz Pentium class Windows-compatible PC
  • At least 2GB of RAM
  • At least 128MB of video RAM
  • Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN)
