Cathe, When to increase weights in workout

Hi,Cathe I am halfway into the rotation you suggested for losing 20-30 lbs for a family event. I was wondering at what point should I increase my weights. I am currently in the 2nd phase of the Slow/Heavy week and find that I am not sore anymore. I actually was looking forward to this ( I guess that makes me crazy ). My muscle feel very tense but not sore. I actually did pyramid upper body and lower body for 1 week and I was not sore at all, usually the pyramids make me sore after not doing it for a while. I have recieved great results, I dont use the scale, but everyone tells me that I look like I lost about 15-20 lbs. I have not purchased any new clothes yet, just wearing sweatpants and exercise pants with t-shirts which are very baggy on me. I made my husband purchase sweatpants that he thinks I can wear because I dont want to know my new size yet. Anyhow back to the question in hand, when should I increase my weights. I use the same amount of weight that you use, except in the legs workout from slow/heavy. I just cant use that 45lb dumbbell (I think you use that) in the leg pile exercise and I cant go as heavy for shoulders exercises. I dont want to go too heavy and sabbotage my goals. thanks for responding. Chap.:7

Hi Chap! As you get more and more acclimated to fitness workouts, you will get less sore (or may not even get sore at all). But don't worry, that does not mean they are not working, just that your muscles have grown to learn what to expect. If you can handle heavier weight then do that. If not, then change the workout to shake things up again. If you have the workout on DVD, change the exercise order of that particular body part to creat more challenge. Congrat's on your accomplishments thus far. It sounds like you have been very successful on your program. Keep up the great work.
