Cathe,
What is your workout schedule like and that of the girls in your videos? Do you do your DVD workouts? and if so how do you rotate them to get in the shape you are in? Do you do cardio and weights everyday? I just bought your intensity series and am wondering if doing this series with the rotation you suggested will get the results that you have, or if I need to also add other workouts, ie more cardio to get your results. Also, what type of nutrition program do you follow? I am so confused about all the conflicting nutrition information, Atkins, South Beach, Low-fat, etc. What is the best when you are exercising with your videos?
Thanks
Mary

Hi Mary! How nice to meet you. You can do the rotation of the Intensity Series as is but if for any reason you feel too fatiqued after the first week of doing this, then cut back on a couple of workouts (or do less of each workout)for a few weeks until your body gets used to the workouts. Generally speaking, for general fitness you want to do 3 to 4 cardio workouts per week anywhere from 20 minutes as a beginner, to 60 minutes as an advanced exerciser. Also do one to two sessions of strength training per week (being sure that you hit each major body part once). Now as you cover your basics with this approach you will start getting more efficient at your workouts and want to add more variety to your program. Thats where all the different types of workouts we offer come into play. The options are endless. You may want to browse our forums and read up on the many combinations others have used who share your fitness goals.

As for myself, with two small toddlers on the loose, ha, I have had to take my workouts day to day for now. I am teaching 6 classes a week right now and try to do one body part per day while here at work (not always possible though). I don't follow a nutrition program. I just take a multi vitamin and eat a lot of various foods to get a good mix of vitamins and minerals. I try to eat a good balance of carbs, proteins, and fats and drink a lot of water too. That's all.

As for the conflicting nutrition information...I agree. It is actually a whole topic outside of the fitness industry and one that goes beyond my scope of knowledge. That is why I do not offer nutritional advise (beyond the very basics)and leave that to those who have earned their credentials in the nutrition field.

You mentioned wanting to know what the girls in the videos do for their workouts. I am attaching this link and it will tell you about them and what they did to get in shape for the intensity series.

Well keep up the great work and take care :)

Cathe,

You mentioned in your post that you try to do one body part per day. Can you elaborate on the number of exercises/reps you perform per workout? I'm curious if your routine is high rep, low rep, etc.

Thanks

Crystal

Bumping. Cathe, I'd like to know how many exercises you perform in your one muscle grouo per day regimen. Is it heavy weights/low reps or light weights/high reps?

Thanks

Crystal
