Cathe - "Thank You" - tip of the iceberg

Hi Cathe. Hope this finds you well and ready to tackle STS next week with so many others here.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you - for creating and enabling this community. I know others post form time to time to say thanks for a host of various things. But I cannot say in words what a joy it is to know you and all of the fine members here, who so often stand together.

Of course there are topics of controversy that can get heated - politics, multiple births ;), religion, thread ratings (lol), etc. But by in large when presented with a situation, this relatively small but mighty group rallies together like no one else. And that is only the stuff we see on the boards - the tip of the iceberg. I know there are SO MANY behind the scenes situations, where Catheites offer strength, support, ideas, encouragement, and unbridled assistance. I've personally been touched by a Catheite who so unselfishly provided invaluable assistance for my DD - without a word on these boards.

How many doubt for one second the times we stand together strong? Like looking for A-Jock's annual sobriety thread, or doing CCPP once a month for "whoever" needs it, or being there with Carola when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, or shedding our tears for Michele's DFIL who lost his battle after fighting so long, or watching Gayle release those balloons to her DH's memory every year with her boys, or praying for Ellie's son and Robin's grandson, or stepping over that finish line with Heather as she completed her first 5K, and now, hanging in there and standing strong with our dear friend Gin in her battle. I know there are so many others.

We are fortunate enough to work out BECAUSE WE CAN, knowing there are so many who cannot. That you have brought us together is such a blessing to so many. So thank you again, for teaching us, for pushing us, for enabling us, for leading us. We're a pretty good group if I do say so myself. Make it a good weekend!

Lorrie,

Thanks for putting into words the sentiments that so many of us feel here. What a great group of people we have here, all thanks to our shared interest.

Cathe, you will probably never know the full magnitude of the relationships that have been forged because of this site. Thank you so much for making our lives better with both inner and outer strength.

Jean

I totally agree & Lorrie, you said it so well! Thanks Cathe! This group has def been a blessing in my life!

Um....DITTO! Nothing left to say! (but you know I'll find something to say....)

My 'real life friends' around me here at home are always asking about my "friends in Texas" or "that friend you stay with in Jersey" or "that lady your workout with" or "the kids you send gifts to in Ohio". YUP......ALL BEST FRIENDS OF MINE, and it all started RIGHT HERE!

THANK YOU!

Gayle

Well said, Lorrie. So many of us have gotten so much out of this forum. Yet ANOTHER reason to thank Cathe and her amazing staff!

I couldn't agree more with Lorrie and couldn't have said it better myself. Cathe, your a blessing inspiring and encouraging us on in our fitness quest. I know that I truly appreciate all the wonderful DVDs you've created and now I'm addicted to.:p This forum is also a blessing for all of us that have joined the Cathe community and even those that lurk. You help us in so many ways and I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus and say "Thank You" for all that you do.:) Your the best!;)

Hugs and blessings!

Nora

Beautifully said, Lorrie!

Lorrie, you said it perfectly and I couldn't agree more. :)

I've said many, many times that even my closest "local" friends don't "get" what happens here. I've been a Cathe Forums member since the very beginning of Cathe's website (1995? 1996?) and in my years here I've seen the members of this community have a profound and positive impact on each others' lives time and time again. I myself have made true, lasting and very important friendships -- women who are precious to me. My "real life" friends are long accustomed to hearing me bubble excitedly about my latest Cathe video, not to mention my mysterious (to them) trips to New Jersey to take Cathe class after class after class all weekend with my fitness friends. (They absolutely don't "get" the allure of that! ;)) And, just like Gayle's friends, my local BFF's are also used to hearing me talk about my dear friend Debbie in Ohio, my "little sister" Lorrayne in San Diego, my Energizer Bunny-like pal Cyndi in Mississippi, my "T-12" girls (shout out -- nothin' but love for ya, girls! :D) -- I could go on and on.

On so many levels, I can't even calculate the debt that I owe to Cathe.

And can I just add that I am very proud to call her my friend now, too. I have gotten to know her in the years that Debbie and Lorrayne and I have been Coordinators for her Road Trips. She's terrific -- as unpretentious, gracious, genuine, fun and loving to her friends and family as you'd imagine. (I'm gonna make her blush

, but gee whiz, it's all true.)

For those of you who haven't had the chance to spend time with Cathe in person, I really do encourage you to try to come on this year's Road Trip or a future one, or, if you're ever in her area, stop by her gym to visit and even take a class.

Happy Valentine's Day to Cathe and to all of you -- it sure seems like an appropriate day to tell everyone here how much I appreciate this place and y'all! :D

Golly, I feel so honored to be even on the sidelines near you all. Perhaps I'll get to know you better through these forums, maybe one day meet you in person! I'm grateful for Cathe, each of you, and, yes, as Nora said: blessed.

Janie

You said it all, Lorrie! I have had the pleasure of meeting so many people on these forums (in person at the roadtrips and just chatting back and forth on the forums). I feel like I know everyone so well (even though I've only seen some of you once or twice!). I know that if I ever needed support for anything, I can come here and the community of friends will definitely be supportive.

Thank you Cathe and friends! It is such an honor to know you all!
