Cathe, sub for fast tap repeaters?

Hi,
Can you help me? I can't seem to get the Fast tap repeaters right in Step Blast and when that part comes up it just totally throws me off because then I do the over the step and then mambo move on the wrong side. Is there another move to sub for it or maybe a que to remember? I really love Step Blast!
But even in IMAX I couldn't do those things well at all.

Not Cathe, but those fast tap repeaters in Step Blast got me too. I just did regular repeaters til I had time to practice. Took me about 8 times of doing the video and I still don't have it down perfect. I think the ones in Imax2 were easier than these quick ones in StepBlast!..Carole

Glad I found this thread...my thanks to Rach who asked first and Bobbie and Carole for helping!!! I have IMAX2 and those fast tap repeaters are too much for me. Will try Bobbi's idea.

So nice to know we aren't alone when tapping and ending up in another part of the room!...I think Bobbi's tip is very good.. :) Carole

My family thinks I am so nuts because I cue and count to myself out loud through many a workout! I love it when they ask me quiestions that have no way of registering in my brain while I am working out. If forced to stop I give them the evil eye! I cannot think and work out! I would never try to chew gum while doing a Cathe workout. I'd end up in another part of the house or in the street! LOL!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one stumped by these!!! I'm going to try the three knee repeater next time. Thanks! :)

I'm one of those slow reaction people (can't do video games for diddley, LOL!) so it takes me forever to learn a new step tape. I've now mastered the warmup and first two combos of SB...working on the third combo and challenge next. Wow, they're fun though, the choreography just flows once I get it. ;)

I couldn't do them in IM2...couldn't do them now! I'll try the repeater then! It's a fun workout but those made me sit down on the step glaring at Cathe!x( Thanks Bobbi...hopefully I will eventually learn them!

Here's a cue if it helps

This one kicked my hiney as well...couldn't for the life of me figure out how I was on the wrong side all the time! LOL

I found I was putting way too many taps on top of the board. If you break it down you're only doing a quick shuffle or tap with each foot. When you start the move, Cathe initially does a three knee repeater but eventually takes out two knees..I think;) if I can jog my memory. The last knee up from that repeater starts the move.

Knee up, tap down with that leg (quickly) and then quickly do a shuffle-shuffle move (the tapped down leg is on top of the board first.) So you're just doing two quick taps alternating legs. I felt I nailed it when I qued to myself...knee up, tap, one - two...you'll see and nail it when you feel that one-two as a shuffle-shuffle...then you end up doing another quick knee up with the same leg that did the first knee up...this is your dismount from the move and where you'll move into the turning stuff on the floor.

Hopefully I didn't mess you up more! Good luck:) You'll love to conquer it!

Just wanted to edit..way too much gibberish...just think two quick taps...a tap for each foot for that fast foot part!!! That's the key. One-Two.

RE: Here's a cue if it helps

Try doing it off the end of the board. My problem is the height of the board combined with the speed. If I do it off the end, I seem to be able to keep up.

Nancy, ending up on the wrong side of the baord was my problem too. I still have probelms with the ove the baord, rebound over the board, est, turn, shuffle. The shuffle confounds me so I turned that into a knee reper too and it ok now. The problem is the finished products moves so furiously. One thaings that's nice is even when I screw it up royally, I still get a great workout! Always pooped whn I am done and determined to get it the next time! I am Step Blating again on Wednesday. I hope I haven't forgotten everything!

RE: Here's a cue if it helps

I should try this! I just did Timesaver and did SB 1-2 and I really do love this workout and must MUST learn those fast taps somehow! I like it a LOT...it is now my new favorite. It used to be IM2 but Step Blast blew it away.

RE: Here's a cue if it helps

I just take out the taps and alternate knee ups on either side of the step - does this make sense?

RE: Here's a cue if it helps

Fast tap repeaters have been conquered!!! ...on the right side. The left still needs work but I am PROUD. I used the SLOW button to figure out which taps first and how to dismount. The left gets me a bit though because I mess up the leg that first goes down for the straddle. But it will get nailed soon. Yeah the finished product is kind of furious whereas she breaks down some easy stuff a lot but then tosses that stuff at you all of a sudden. Like that rock press over the board rebound over the board thing ... but OK. She's still awesome!

Hi Everyone

I am a new Catheite. Those kicked my butt too at first but just like you I had to try several things to figure it out, rewind, play again slow. :)

I love this workout. I can't stop doing it as my cardio of choice. I know we should mix things up but right now I'm loving this workout so much that I do my strength training after it (yowza) and alternate only with FIRM CAWT until I get tired of it. I'm so thrilled that I found Cathe's workouts. I also bought Cardio Kicks and didn't think it was so hard until I got out of bed the next day and had sore abs and sore arms.

Thank-you Cathe.
