Cathe, recommendations for a "traditional" weight lifter??

Cathe, I have several of your cardio DVD's and even a few of your lifting ones and am thinking about deviating from my traditional body building 4 day split. I have been doing this for a while and while I have seen good progress, I am wondering what I might expect for results if I try, for example, your Muscle Endurance or Power Hour a few times a week instead of a traditional 4 day split.

Might this help if my goal is to burn more fat so that the muscle I now have is more visible ("cut")?

Making this change is tough for me, as I have always worked out with a traditional split of some sort, so I would be curious to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks so much!
Cass

Hi Cass! Change is good, most especially when you have been on a particular program for a good while. I think, for the goals you have stated, doing these workouts for a couple of weeks would do the trick. Just make sure that when you do them you find the perfect challenging weight for each exercise on both workouts. If these are the only weight workouts you are going to do per week you can do them two but no more than three times per week.

This along with a super clean diet will show your muscles nicely.

After a few weeks, you can go back to the splits you like but be sure to make subtle changes within those workouts (ie: change order of exercises, add a new one here or there, change the body parts within the split, etc.)

After a couple of months you can insert the total body endurance tapes like those mentioned above for a couple of weeks again.

Goof Luck!

Cassandra: I'm looking to do a total body endurance rotation as well. I feel like I've been saying that for months now LOL--I've been trying to do this rotation, but after a week, keep going back to splits (specifically: 4DS) 'cause I love them so! I've been doing splits for so long that I do think my body needs a "shock" to start seeing results again. I've gotten such gains in definition from splits/heavy weights that I think I'm scared I'll lose those hard-fought gains if I go to endurance style; I'm sure 4-6 weeks of a different style won't make those gains go anywhere, but I'm anal like that ;).

Would love to see how you find the rotation to work for you--let's compare notes :).
