And since I am so close to the gym, I have become the official unofficial hostest for overnight guests. Anyone interested in making a class can always PM me for arrangements.

I promise I won't pull the step away from you, like Gatle did to me!!!!

ellie

Ellie IS THE hostess with the mostest, but she charges an arm and a leg and there's NO room service!!! :)

I just got home from dropping Jean off at the airport and the kids and I are glad to be home. I had SUCH an AWESOME time these last 3 days, everybody!!!! Jean and I stayed up late to play dominoes with the boys (and treat ourselves to some homemade kettle korn..yummy!). Kids went to bed and she and I chatted a bit more. I was up early for a workout and we hit the road. It was sad to have this little vacation end:(

Like Ellie said, the trip is so worth it if you can make it to a Cathe class and gather with fellow Catheites!!!! I'm ALWAYS up for the ride!

So odd...

...for me to see pics of Cathe in winter wear since of course all previous road trips took place in summer with her sporting spaghetti straps, tank tops, tees, capris and shorts. I'm seeing a WHOLE other side of her. Thanks!

Best,
Shelby

For real?? Brave soul, that Cathe. At the moment the wind is howling outdoors, I'm indoors, heat turned up, wearing a scarf + Gap hoodie. Yeah, I'm that averse to the slightest chill.

So glad you all had a wicked time. Her jacket kicks a$$ by the way... :0)

Best,
Shelby

Hi, Hi, Hi, I'm home. High, High, High are my spirits. This weekend was amazing. I had so much fun. Working out live with Cathe and fellow Cathletes is just the best way to spend the weekend. Gayle was the perfect hostess. I enjoyed playing tri-ominoes with her and her boys. And yes the home made kettle corn was delicious. The weekend was fabulous. Although I could definitely have done without the cold weather and am glad to be where it is currently 69 degrees.

Jerry, Ellie, Laura, Phyllis, Diana, Chrissy, Gayle and of course Cathe, thanks so much for the great memories.

Jean...

Glad you made it back safely, what a great surprise to have you join us...now you need to join us on the Peeps check in board, and of course, you have achieved the most prestigious title of "Honorary Tri-State Catheite"...which is worth a trip across this great land in and of itself!!

Jean- I'm so glad that you made it home safely!!! Thanks for all the fun yesterday especcially the coffee noser!! I just couldn't stop laughing. And tell Gayle to stop kicking me under the table!!!

Yes, Ellie -- do tell! What's the coffee noser? What did we miss?

Jean, so glad you made it home safely. I'm still totally amazed that you came in from Texas!!! Hope you can join us again and I look forward to talking to you more next time.

Gayle, since I've already told you I'm enjoying lots of your recipes, care to share your recipe for homemade kettlecorn? YUM!!

OH! Diana......kettle korn. YUMMY. I secretly think it should be called kettle porn  because once I start I can't stop! I make mine in my new Whirley Popper and it's so simple and fast (even in a regular, large pot).

Kettle Korn:
1/4 C sugar
1/4 C oil
1/2 C popping corn kernels

Put all 3 ingredients in a very large cooking pot with the lid on and put the pot on the burner (if electric, preheat the burner to just above medium heat) on medium heat. Jiggle the pot continuously so nothing burns. Keep shaking till popping stops, then pour the popcorn onto a baking sheet to cool. When cool, break into pieces/chunks and ENJOY!!!!!!!

There are about 800 calories in the entire batch!

(as soon as you dump out the popcorn, fill the pot with hot soapy water and let soak a few minutes with the lid ON so that it's easier to clean.) I will never BUY kettle korn again after making it at home.....so delish!

Diana, as I said at lunch yesterday, NEXT TIME I'll sit on your end of the table to we get some chatting time. I was glad to stay on my end and let you, Chrissy and Laura enjoy Cathe head-on.

Gayle

My coffee noser....... I was actually referring to the fact that I was sooooo busy watching myself in the mirror that I missed the step. And some people caught on!!!! I usually have to follow Cathe's every move, but I knew all the step work so I thought I'd check myself out in the mirror!!! NOT SMART!!!!
Keep your eyes on the step, not on your flying thru the air moves. Otherwise you literally Fly thru the Air..... and land flat on your a##!!!!

I had to laugh at myself for being "caught" checking myself out!!!

Oh, I have a Whirly Pop down in the basement I haven't used in years! I started to have trouble with the handle not spinning right so we got lazy and went back to microwave popcorn, but I'll have to dust it of and give it a 'whirl' again. I tried the microwave kettlecorn and it has a funny flavor. I just may have to try this today -- good snack for the Eagles game! Not that I'm a big football fan, but when they're in the playoffs I feel like I have to watch.
I'm thinking I'll have to do another batch of Tuscan Chicken Soup today because that was sooooo good.

Ellie - oh, how I wish I was there to see your 'coffee noser.' Really, no pics, guys??? We'll have to do a another step class soon so you can redeem yourself because we know you're the queen of step -- just don't stand in front of the mirror!:p:p

Man, everytime I see these posts I get so jealous! If I was close enough, I would DEFINITELY be there with ya'll. Being that I'm in Texas, that ain't gonna happen! But -- I will see you all at the road trips!!
