Cathe Cardio-based Videos

Hello All,

I wanted to say first Happy Holidays to everyone and thanks for all your postings. I really get a lot of great advice from this website and really like to read peoples opinions on how to get and stay fit.

My question - I'm looking to purchase some cardio only (examples - IMAX, Kick Punch and Crunch) videos to compliment my weight work this winter. I'm normally an avid runner, but running in Pennsylvania while its below freezing outside, in the dark just isn't an option. I've reviewed the Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workouts list about a dozen times, and still can't decide. Any suggestions? I'm looking to purchase no more than $100 worth, so maybe around 2-5 videos/dvds. Also, I already own the Body Blast and Intensity series.

Thanks!

for $50 you can get the Rhythmic Step dvd that has 3 workouts on it(Rhythmic Step, IMAX, and Maximum Intensity Cardio) i really like this dvd. or maybe the classics or cardio hits, both of them also have 3 step workouts and $30 a piece. i like low-max so i don't have to jump around all the time and kick max is a good one too, just a little toned down in the kick/punch combos compared to KPC, those are $27 a piece. i haven't done any others so i can't help you there.

The RS dvd is a great suggestion. I also like the Cardio Hits DVD, which also has three step workouts for about $40.

I agree that the Rhythmic Step DVD should be your first pick. After that, I'd say KickMax just to give you some more cardio without the step.

Great suggestions. I think you should add Imax 3 to your collection. To me, the blasts (and especially if you do blasts only) get your heartrate up there much like running. I do this cardio one of the most often. I think kickmax is a great addition b/c it has so many parts that you can add on to other workouts. Same with Bootcamp/ME. I do BC/ME in some form at least once a week. KPC is a must have, too.

If you're into step, definitely Cardio Hits. Three great workouts that are fun and easy to learn. I also love RS, but it's a bit tricky if you're a beginner. The IMAX's always get rave reviews here. I am personally most partial to IMAX2, but you already have that, right?

Oh, and you're much better off getting DVDs than VHS because of the premixes on newer workouts and the ability to skip around on sections in the older ones.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for all of your inputs. Although I'd love to purchase the DVDs, I think I'm going to start with the VHSs because they're on sale. I'm hoping to save up to purchase the entire Hardcore series on DVD later this year. Regardless of the cost, Cathe is sooo worth it. I think it'll be Step, Jump and Pump tonight!

Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

You could also get CTX DVDs - 6 one hour workouts and CTX Upper Body Split. I know they have some weight work involved, but they are great workouts!!

Low Max is straight cardio and fun to boot. I love KPC!
