Cathe’s Weightlifting Gloves

Do you have them? Do you like them?

The wrist support gloves look really nice but I’m wondering if the wrist is stiff when you do push ups.

The lighter gloves look as though they have cuffs rather than a velcro wrap closure. I have really small wrists and I’m not sure that a cuff would hold a glove on my hand.

I did a search but mostly boxing glove comments came up.

Thanks!

I have the ones without wrist support. They're OK - not much different than others I have purchased elsewhere. They do not interfere with pushups or other exercises where you flex/bend the wrists. The wrist band is velcro'd. And, just like any velcro, it gets less grippy over time and through laundry washes. They do (as do non-Cathe gloves) interfere with my FitBit - rubs on it or pushes on it, and stops the timer.

Yes, my present gloves are fine except Velcro is going. Thanks for sharing your experience. I really appreciate it.

I have the ones with the wrist velcro. I love them! They do not restrict me in any way.

I shredded my blue and black Cathe gloves and my Nike gloves using them for kettlebells and the Olympic barbell.
I never bought Cathe's version that has that additional wrist strap. I bought more Cathe gloves and only use them for band and mat work and when I am using my vinyl dumbbells. They are very comfortable and breathable.

The most durable gloves I own and use are my Harbinger men's weightlifting gloves that I purchased at Dick's. I tried the women's version but they didn't have the padding or the durability that the men's version has. The small in that brand fit well and have padding where I need around thumb and forefinger palm /pad area.

Thanks for the tip - I've used the Women's version of Harbinger - didn't think they were any better than Cathe's. I'll be checking out the Men's version.

I have two pairs of weightlifting gloves with wrist support straps, not Cathe ones though. The first pair has a 2.5-inch-wide strap, and I found I could still do pushups, but they were a bit restrictive. The second pair has a 1.5-inch strap and that isn't as restrictive and still gives good wrist support. I don't know how wide the strap is on Cathe's gloves, I checked the listing, but it doesn't say.
