i have a few questions about cardio for you ladies; just wondering what everyone does

1) what cardio activity do you like the most?

2) how frequently and how long do you do cardio?

3) how much do you do to a) lose weight and b) maintain

4) what type of cardio do you like the most (HIIT, longer interval workouts, steady state)

Hi K. I workout 6 times per week.

1- I can't pick my fave - I love all cardio except for really choreographed step like Step Moves :( (love high impact/high intensity step though!)
2- Cardio 3-4 times per week, one of those days usually being a circuit, the others solely cardio. I do HIIT on the treadmill 1x weekly for 20 minutes all-out exertion, Cathe videos like CCC, HIITs, KPC, or Ath Step, etc 2 other times per week and sometimes a circuit like I said such as Drill Max or Boot Camp. I follow the 6 mo STS rotation on the other 3 days. I usually double up on cardio for one STS day (like back/bis day) to get in that extra cardio day, you know?
3- I do everything to maintain. I am not out to be thin. Just healthy and for the love of fitness.
4- If I had to pick - I guess HIIT, because I love a challenge, and I love intervals too. Steady-state has it's place but not always for me :)

2) how frequently and how long do you do cardio?i can only do 30-45 min a session(sometimes twice a day for 20-30)3 days a week

3) how much do you do to a) lose weight and b) maintain i can't count this b/c my eating my culprit from seeing results.

4) what type of cardio do you like the most (HIIT, longer interval workouts, steady state) i like shorter workouts b/c i have only so much time for workouts sometimes. i go for quality over quantity.

1) what cardio activity do you like the most? kettlebells (strength and cardio), running, kickboxing

2) how frequently and how long do you do cardio? sessions no longer than 20 minutes (except on Saturdays, those are my longer days) at least 5x a week

3) how much do you do to a) lose weight and b) maintain I guess if I had to choose, I would say to maintain, I really just do it because it makes me feel good and right now what I am doing builds strength and stamina. Plus I love a good challenge! Right now in my program, I like setting goals and reaching them (reach 9 minute miles in running, swing with X about of weight for X amount of reps). The only way I am losing any more weight is if I change my eating.

4) what type of cardio do you like the most (HIIT, longer interval workouts, steady state) HIIT, steady state (running), pushing myself to the limit. I don't do longer workouts anymore. Since I have started doing shorter workouts, I am less hungry, have more energy post-workout and feel better overall.

To lose weight, I rely more on diet than cardio. If I do too much cardio ( when i trained for a 1/2 marathon and an olympic tri, I GAINED weight)

They all have a place in my cardio regimen, but I probably like longer interval workouts the best.

1) what cardio activity do you like the most? Kicboxing, but for this I prefer Amy Bento, just because I like intensity, over precise boxing moves, I guess you could say I prefer kiabock hi lo :)

2) how frequently and how long do you do cardio? I do an hour twice a week, and 75 minutes twice a week. Plus 3 HIIT workouts (20 minutes)

I love drills, so I love HIIT, because I love that gasping feeling. I am not a fan of steady state, I prefer my 'steady state' to be interspersed with anaerobic intervals :)

I also like the gasping feeling -- my stomach always seems a little flatter the day after I have done HIIT.
 
What cardio activity do you like the most? HIIT and bootcamp drills

How frequently and how long do you work out? 5 cardio sessions a week : 2 HIIT ( less than 30 minutes) 2 bootcamp or kickbox (60 minutes) 1 advanced step class (45 minutes cardio with anaerobic drills)

How much do you do to a) lose weight and b) maintain? When I want to lose weight I watch my diet more than I change my cardio. My current cardio of 5 sessions a week maintains my weight and keeps my ticker going.

What type of cardio do you like the most (HIIT, longer interval workouts, steady state):
HIIT is my favorite, but variety is key!!
 
1. I love kickboxing, step, and dance based workouts.
2. I try to do cardio 4-5x's per week depending on how bad my diet is. 20-30 min for HIIT/interval workouts, 45-60 min for kickboxing, step, and dance workouts.
3. 5x's per week to lose weight and 3x's to maintain. If I eat real clean I can get away with doing less.
4. I don't have a lot of spare time so I like to do shorter intense workouts that get's the job done.
