Cardio workouts

Hi all,

I don't feel I'm getting enough cardio with the intensity series.
I'm looking for high intensity non-interval workouts, an hour long.
What are your favorites? Any suggestions?

The most intense cardio workout I've tried of Cathe's is MIC (Maximum Intensity Cardio) that one is a KILLER!!!

It is more than an hour including the step portion of it though. (70 minutes total)

MIC is a really good one or try her Cardio Kicks! It's a fun one.
Her Step Works is also very good and tough. Susan :)

Step Works is my favorite non-interval workout from Cathe. If you do the whole thing on an 8" step, you'll be feeling pretty tired near the end. Do you have a DVD player, or VCR? If you have a DVD, you could get CTX and do Step Intervals (that has only 3 intervals so I don't consider it an 'interval workout') and All Step back to back. My favorites in order from toughest to not as tough but still challenging are (times indicated are without warm up and cool downs):
MIC 59 min.
Body Max Step & circuit segment 43 min. (the bpm kill me on this one!)
Circuit Max 42 min.
10-10-10 and All Step 47 min.
Step Works 40 min.
Step Int. & All Step 43 min.
Cardio Kicks 40 min.
Power Max 45 min.
Rhythmic Step 46 min.
Step Fit 42 min.
Step Jam 47 min.
Step Max 40 min.
Step Heat 35 min.

If you have the DVDs of the intensity series, it is very easy to add extra cardio. You can add the time saver step of C&W to the end of ME, PLB, or PUB. You can do Imax 2 int. 1-5 after PLB, then do Imax 2 int. 6-10 after PUB. You can also add the BC cardio and leg segments to the end of another workout to make it longer and more intense. If you have the tapes, then these suggestions don't really help.

I have to second what jillybean states here:

if you double up on two of the CTX cardio sections you get a very intense cardio sweat. My faves are:

CTX All Step followed by 10 10 10,
CTX All Step followed by Power Circuit
CTX 10 10 10 followed by Kickbox
CTX All Step followed by Step Intervals

SInce each section alone is designed as a stand alone intesne cardio, doubling up will definitely tire you out!!

Thanks so much for your suggestions, giving me the timing for mixing up in the Intensity series really helps and I will try that (I do have DVD). I had been doubling (and sometimes tripling) mixed and matched cardios from CTX and I love them. I got the IS series recently and started the overall body blast 3 weeks ago, and find I miss the cardio. I've actually been gaining weight, probably from eating too much because I don't have enough cardio to control my stress level and appetite. I hadn't figured out like jillybean how to get more cardio in. I have trouble programing early in the morning when I workout so I'd like some workouts where I don't have to think so much, just start it and go! Sounds like I definitly would like MIC, and you all suggest workouts from all the dvds so I guess I'll have to get them all. Thanks!
