Cardio & Weights/Circut Max

OK, I've decided I would like to participate in the monthly rotations. However, it seems I don't have all the DVD's Cathe puts in each month. So, I was looking at the "8 pack" that is available to order. I don't have the CTX series or the Circut Max one. Looking at the description, I'm wondering how much does Circut Max differ from Cardio and Weights?

Circuit Max and Cardio&Weights differ in the following ways:

Circuit Max incorporates 2 cycles of hi/lo, 2 cycles of floor and step kickbox, and 2 cycles of traditional step, whereas Cardio and Weights uses strictly step for its cardio cycles;

Circuit Max incorporates 6 cycles of 2-minute compound upper and lower body resistance segments with handweights, whereas (I believe) Cardio&Weights incorporates 3-minute leg only, compound and upper body only resistance segments;

Circuit Max's chaptering is somewhat more limited than Cardio & Weights (warm-up, cardio/resistance cycles, upper body and brief abs) whereas Cardio&Weights DVD is chaptered much more thoroughly, offering among other things a timesaver cardio only (step) routine that simply omits the resistance cycles.

I personally prefer Circuit Max over Cardio & Weights, but many here absolutely love CardioWeights. IMHO Circuit Max is higher intensity for cardio work. I'd be interested in others' opinions.

Hi !

I really do think Circuit Max is tougher than C&W, but both are so much fun ! They are quite different in format, but both make you sweat and have very good music. But I still keep Circuit Max (and BootCamp) when I have a lot of energy !

Exactly what A-jock said! I would like to emphasize the fact that C-Max is DEFINITELY more intense than C&W! I like them both, but I don't find them interchangeable because I prefer the C&W cardio for a "lighter" day. But, we are all different. It may be that I just find hi/lo generally more intense (and hard on my footsies) than step.

At any rate, the CTX series and C-Max/Cardio Kicks DVD could add a lot of spice and variety to your workout selections.
