Cardio Kicks vs. Kickboxing

I'm still fairly new to Cathe having only purchased PUB/PLB, Ab Hits & Classics. I'm looking for something completely different and was looking at these two. What's the difference? I've never done any kickboxing. Which would give me something different without being too dificult to pick up? Let's face it...I just want to buy them all!

TIA

PS. How do I put those cute smilies in without the javascript stuff showing?

Consider this your permission slip to purchase Cardio Kicks - as well as CTX Kickbox, as well as CTX 10-10-10, as well as CTX Power Circuit, as well as Circuit Max, as well as Boot Camp, as well as certain of her upcoming Body Blast series offerings, all of which have kickbox and/or step-kickbox components. Cardio Kicks IS kickbox, and Cathe makes it very easy to learn. And Cathe Kickbox is a great addition / cross-training component to your program, because it recruits the lower AND upper body muscles in a decidedly different way than step or hi/lo.

Get the DVD's. The way Cathe has chaptered them, you'll have more kickbox mish-mosh potential than you ever imagined. If you don't have a DVD player, get one, a multi-disc programmable one for even greater options.

See? I'll help you buy 'em all . . . and machinery to boot.

Re the smilies, I just click on the icons at the left side of the screen.

Cardio Kicks has a 13 min warm up, a 24 min choreographed-kickboxing cardio section, and a 15 min drills section. CTX Kickbox is more straightforward kickboxing - punches and kicking, jumprope, drills, and some kickbox cardio moves too (of course!!!) but not the level of choreography the CK has. It's easier to pick up, IMHO. Having said that, though, CK was my first Cathe, it is very fun once you get the choreography down (as well as while you are trying to get it).

Hi SUe:

I agree with Aquajock that owning the CTX series too ups the variety potential for building a personalized Kickbox routine for yourself.

Once I did a kickbox medley, starting with the warm up and routine from Cardio Kicks, then paused that tape, switched to the Kickbox section of 10*10*10, then did CTX KIckbox, then finished off with the drills section at the end of Cardio Kicks. Phew!!

It was over an hour of pure high intensity Cathe kickbox and I was thoroughly worked out by the end!!! I definitley needed that umbrella...

I must do it again soon.....

So, get Cardio Kicks and the CTX series and the world is your cardio fun oyster!

I have been making my own kickbox mish mosh from Cathe, also..
Bootcamp - kickbox portion only
cxt- punching drills
Cardio kix- drills
I do the drills wearing 2 lb weighted gloves, then I take them off, (my arms feel REAL light after that!)
then I throw a powerstrike millenium in -- about 1 hr,15 min all together.
I had forgotten about the kickbox portion of 10-10-10. hm. Yet another combo to try!

Ladies,

Thank you for all of your input. Sorry I haven't thanked you all sooner...we're right in the middle of moving! Hopefully, if we can keep anything else from happening (to vehicles, people, stuff) I might be able to indulge in more Cathe stuff. I definitely have my eye on that high step!

Thanks again!
