cardio is the most hated of all July 26th

You guys are cracking me up--hehehe

I've had a crazy day and I'm not done with it, but I wanted to stop by so you wouldn't think I abandoned you.

Okay, here's my list of things that help me fall asleep:

- Herb tea like chamomile

- warm milk (but I can't drink that unless it has chocolate in it:eek: )

- a little slice of turkey

- turn on the TV to a channel that's kind of monotone, like the weather channel, and turn the volume down so it's just soft noise in the background

- get one of those doohickeys that mimics sounds in nature, like a waterfall (NO! not a waterfall--that will make you have to pee--lol!), or rain

- read something boring

- oh yeah, and make sure you eat plenty of BEANS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

That's my 2 cents. Really, reading and the TV thing help me the most.

No, I haven't done my cardio yet, but I will, I will all ready--lol!

:* :*

Jana, I love your idea :)

I have tried reading boring books and doesn't work. TV just wakes me up, I don't think I would have the discipline to stay on a boring channel and just switch to some rerun of a reality show in VH1 that I have already seen. I should try tea though. And milk.

Okay girls, so here are the results of the Green Bean Experiment.

They worked. (gasps from the audience, especially from Kate)

However, I'm up and have eaten breakfast and it's only 7:15am.

I've also taken my measurements and there is just absolutely no way in he!! that I could have gained a pound of fat from eating green beans - NO JOKE you guys, WTF?! I could have just as easily gained a pound of fat eating chocolate!

But I mustn't give up faith! There's hope on Barley Mountain! Plus, I feel thinner. And that's what counts, Missy Tanita.

Okay, time to make my green tea. After all, it's high calorie day and I must celebrate! (That it's high calorie day, that is.)

Oh, and Diane, you know, I've heard that turkey has something in it that makes you sleepy, of all weird things (this is actually not a joke). So turkey, a cup of chamomile and a side of green beans should really "conk" you out!

I love it. I will have a turkey green bean roll up with a sip of chamomile tea mixed in with some warm milk. And I can eat this YUMMY snack while watching boring tv at a low volume while doing yoga, but NONE of this can be on the bed!!

Good morning, August!

I'm glad your green beans worked--lol! Turkey has L-tryptophan which is an amino acid and a precursor to serotonin. It's supposed to help you sleep and act as an antidepressant. Here's a little ditty on it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryptophan#Dietary_sources

Hey, I don't think you can rely on that tanita thingy for accurate readings. Go by how you feel and how your clothes fit. Unless they submerge you in a tank of water, you're never going to know your true percentage of body fat. And it's like you pointed out, there IS hope on Barley Mountain--lol!

Here's a good article on sleep from the Sparkpeople website:

I need to scrounge up something for dinner...and do my workout:eek: :p :7

I'll see you later:* :*

ETA that I'm LOL at Janjan and Diane--:7 :7 :7
You gals must've posted while I was posting

Okay, I'm out of here:p

Ooh, some action while I was drinking my tea!

Yeah, Diane, that's totally the meal combo to go for just before going to bed. Just don't give yourself a stomachache or you'll be in the bathroom all night! :7

Haha, I guess the bourbon or whiskey would really do the conking.

Have a good dinner and workout, Michele!

Now as for myself...I'm doing S&H chest and back and I have the feeling I'll be doing them extra slow and heavy today, right before I end up taking a nap on the hard floor (that is, after I've had my extra big smoothie :9 ). Actually, a nap before my workout doesn't sound bad right now.

And I am completely out of green beans today. :* Though definitely not out of barley, no no!

All right. So I've been re-reading sections of my BFFM. :D

According to the good book, if ones fat % goes up and lean body mass goes down (like mine did thank you very much x( ), it means you're eating your muscle and one should up the calories 100-200.

What do you think? Should I up it 100 or so, or just continue with my plan as is? In the past I think one of my problems has been changing my plan every week LOL.

I should just stick with what I'm doing, eh? Or maybe add in a little 100 calorie balanced night snack? What do you guys vote?

Can anyone spell - o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d?

Just kidding. Achem. ;)

Off to do my weight lifting.
