Cardio Coach vs. IFit - Kicking Myself

Thanks, Mary!! I was probably in the process of ordering when you replied -- Volume 2 is on its way -- and your reply makes me feel very good about it! I really do need to get back to moving on a regular basis, and I already feel motivated!

Thanks!
Allison

Allison,

When I first got my CC's I looked forward to getting up in the morning! I use my bike on a trainer and love them!! I cannot think of one negative thing to say about them. :D

Please let us know what you think!

Allison, I can't think of anything that is better suited to an elliptical than CC workouts!! That's what I do them on. And you'll love Volume 2 -- it's an oldie but a goody. I started with Volume 1 and went in order. You don't have to do that, but it just made sense to me at the time. I do think that each Volume sort of prepares you for the next.

Sean is KNOWN for his ability to motivate and inspire -- he's a genius at it. He got me to work out, and I've always HATED cardio. ;)

ETA Hi Mary!! I LOVE the 3rd challnege in Vol 8!! Those pyramid hills give me a rush!

Thanks, Michele and Mary! I really like the elliptical, but it gets boring fast for me. So I'm excited about this new "take" on it! I'll let you know how it goes... Thanks for your enthusiasm and support!

Allison

I think Michele is the Enabler-in-Chief :p:D

As Michele said, I walk/run outside with my doggies and I LOVE Cardio Coach. I have tried ITread but I just hated it, in fact, about 20 minutes into it I just ripped the headphones out of my ear and was ready to trample on them

I think all CCs are great to run outside, you just need to modify. I do hills but I also substitute them for faster walks or runs, or even sprints. No walking lunges for me, I hate lunges and it would be really hard with 5 dogs in tow

I think the best one with limited hills is Vol. 3, at 45 min it is also a little shorter than 5 and 7. 1 and 2 are also shorter and you can substitute the hills with speed. That being said my absolute favorite is Vol. 7 but for other reasons.

I love all of the workouts and I almost exclusively run outside and modify - I don't always have hills handy when I need them :D:rolleyes:

My recommendation if you want shorter workouts, start with 2 or 3 and see how it works, otherwise, get 5 and 7 and just do one less challenge if you need to keep it short.

Let us know what you think.

Allison

Before CC, I could never stay on the elliptical for more than 30 min and I was dying of boredom!! I've done PP and Volume 5 both on the elliptical and LOVED it! I couldn't believe I was on the elliptical for over an hour! (thanks, Michele!) It was the only thing that kept me sane while off from running due to an achilles tendon strain. Have fun!

Have to chime in too...if you want to workout regularly but sometimes are missing the inspiration then you probably want to have CC and Coach Sean available to you...

Sometimes I'm not eager to get going - but I want to workout (you know that inner struggle "I want to but I don't want to...")

I think well I'll just get on the elliptical and just listen to CC for 10, maybe 20 minutes - at least I'm doing something. I get going and then all of a sudden I get so into it I 'work it' for the entire hour. I truly intended just 20 minutes - but he just gets you going.

His music is beautiful and the challenges just catch you, you start thinking 'Well, I'll just do THIS hill then I'll stop..." Then I recover and say to myself, well I COULD do ONE more challenge...and before I know it, I'm done! Sweat is dripping off my chin and I feel powerful, proud, confident and in charge of me and my life.

All pretty powerful stuff from a cardio workout...

No wonder we love this stuff! He (and Cathe) are the epitome of great coaches - inspirational, strong, encouraging and seeing the best in people so they/we can see it in ourselves. I love that!

I bought every one of the CC workouts-I see it as taking care of myself, making sure I have what I need when I need a little extra support - I'm worth that (as is everyone else!)

I DID IT!!!! I bought Volume #3 and LOOOOVVVEEEEDDD ITTT!!!!!! I did it on the treadmill so I could get a feel for it and the changes and youre right...the transitions are super smooth and easy. For the hill part, I just sprinted as fast as I could and it worked fairly well! My husband was waiting for me (going to watch Saw 5 - it was such a disappointment!) and he thought I was going nuts because I was totally talking back to Coach Sean and throwing woo hoos and yeahs at him! Thanks guys for the great recommendations - I will DEFINITELY be buying more of these!! WOO HOOO!!!

I love all of the CC's that I have:D However my absolute favorites are 7 and 8!

You will not go wrong with any of them!!

Tamara, I am so glad you enjoyed it. Vol. 3 is on top of my list of favorites.

I have been known to talk back to Coach Sean which gets me some funny looks when I run outside :D Although I don't know if it is my talking back or the fact that I have a herd of dogs in tow. Probably both

Tamara!

Woo Hoo!!! I never had a doubt you'd love Coach Sean ;) He is pretty hard to resist!!

Welcome to Cardio Coach Land! :p

I just wanted to chime in also being a newbie with CC. I absolutely love it! I took a break from running from a mild back injury and just couldn't get motivated to get back to cardio. I had read everyone's posts on here about Coach Sean and CC and thought, "Why not?" So I purchased Vol.1 first, just as another poster said, it made sense to me to go in order. I too find myself talking back and yoo-hooing when I am on the treadmill. Thank goodness my husband is not usually around because he already thinks I am cooky for talking back to Cathe also! :) I just recently bought Vol2 and Vol3 but I still love Vol1 so I figured I will switch it up when I get bored. Plus I haven's sat down long enough at home to transfer the workouts to my MP3 player. So I want to give a big thank you to all the ladies who recommended CC! I love running and look forward to it now!

Hurray Sweetpea! Another convert -- :D

Soon you will need all of the volumes!! Not only is Coach Sean amazing in creating awesome workouts, but he is extremely generous in pricing his workouts too!

Have a great day!

Thanks girls!!! I've done CC#3 three times so far in the last few days and I can't get enough. I went for a nice, relaxing run last night and had planned on just running to my playlist but then Coach Sean came on towards the end and I had to do a series of sprints - I just HAD to!! He's a great motivator and I can't wait to get some more!

Great info - Yes I was on the website for like 2 hours the other day trying to decide which to get but I figured I'd consult the experts here first! I am still so mad at myself for spending $8 on that stupid IFit workout.... what a waste! I do have a bike and have been eyeing it up lately..just like you - it's hanging upside down in the garage, haha! But the transitions are clear using CC? I'm afraid I'm not going to understand what he's talking about :p

I was going to try iFit but never got around to it. I've often said the only thing that bothers me about Cardio Coach is there aren't enough of them. But, though I've never done iFit, I was aware there are a lot of them and when I did CC I've often thought 'Is it just me or is this music, this program, really amazing?' I just assumed that since there are only 8 CC workouts and there are a ton of iFit that the quality of the iFit workouts can't be anywhere near as good as CC. Sounds like my suspicion was correct.

My Vol. 2 CD arrived today (yes, I'm a technophobe, so I ordered a CD instead of downloading) -- and Coach Sean had written a personal note on the wrapper, saying that he looks forward to our workout!

That does mean I'm his *favorite*, right? I thought so!

I'm planning to try it out tomorrow!

Allison

Thank you girls! I have been in a funk this past week...just busy at work & not feeling like doing much of anything when I get home. Tomorrow I am going to CC land! Bring me back Coach Sean! I was so proud, through CC, I was able to do a 5 mile steady in under an hour. I have improved so much. I don't want to lose that!
