Cardio Coach Press Play Weekend!!!

I'll join you all this month. As Becky said, there are so many heartbreaking stories. I'll be thinking of each of you and the people you have mentioned. In addition, I think I'll dedicate my workout with an extra challenge to my DD's boyfriend (a high school junior) who lost his father a couple of weeks ago to heart issues.

Michele,

Thanks for the info on Cardio Coach. Sounds like a great cause. I am definitely checking out the link and will join you all Sat.

Julia

Count me in ladies! :D

And as always, when I start balling at the beginning for the workout when Coach says "Vrinda in India and Debbie in Ohio", I will be thinking of all of you and your loved ones and sending warm fuzzies everyone's way!!

In case you didn't know...WE ARE ON!!!! Had to give a little shout-out to V1. Did it today on the elliptical and I just love that line!!:p

Count me in! BTW, does anyone know how Jim is doing?
Nancy, I contacted Jim's sister a few months ago -- February or March, I think -- and at that time he was still in a nursing home in Santa Fe. She mentioned that he would be moving at some point to be closer to her but she didn't say when that would happen. If I hear anything else I will be sure to pass the information along to all my PP pals. ;)

Melissa, I did Volume 1 last night! I posted on FB that I think it's one of the most underrated CC workouts. I LOVE it!! I love the shorter intervals that can easily be used for HIIT and I almost always do them at a level 4. And I love to keep notes on my workouts and track my progress, and I set a PR wth Vol 1 last night. WOO HOOOOOO!!!!! :D

Just wanted to pop in one more time before bed. I'm doing CCPP tomorrow morning and my goal is to repeat the FIRST challenge of PP at the end as my add-on challenge. I may need to do it WALKING on the TM instead of running, but I WILL REPEAT that challenge at the end!

Michele, Melissa, I haven't done V1 in ages, would it work well on a TM???

Gayle, I never do the workouts on a treadmill so I can't say for sure, but I honestly don't see why it wouldn't work. I LOVE it on the elliptical! :D Here's the breakdown so you can see and judge for yourself. HTH!

Challenge 1 - 6 level 3 hills - 20 seconds each with a 40 sec recovery after each one

Challenge 2 - 3 level 3 sprints - 1 min each with a 1 minute recovery after each one

Challenge 3 - a level 3 trek (a fast hill) for 3 minutes with a 20 second finish at level 4

P.S. I'll be sending some PP vibes your way tomorrow!! :D

Kristi, have you done PP Saturday with us before? I can't recall, so welcome if you're new, and welcome back if you're not! :p :D I'm so sorry for the loss your DD's boyfriend has suffered. That's a tough age to lose your dad.

Julia, welcome to PP Saturday!! You will love it!

Becky -- hello my friend! How are you!? Is your friend going to do PP, too. I'm still hoping she will pop into our thread one day and say hello. Congratulations to your DD!!!! :D

Me too; except I walked/jogged it! :D Love it!

** Michele -- I don't know how to quote more than one person, but I see you were with us today doing V1 -- how cool  to imagine we are listening to that same Coach Sean voice in our ears, guiding us in our workouts and encouraging us in our fitness journeys...just too cool!!!!!!

Mary!!!!!! That is SO cool!!! I love the thought that we were working out together! I guess that's why I love PP Saturday so much. It feels like a gathering of old friends. Oh jeez, I'm getting teary eyed already and the workout isn't until Saturday! :p :D

Thank you, Michele! I have done it with you but not in a couple of months. I'm really excited to do it this week; I feel like it will be emotional and cathartic. I haven't decided on the challenge, but I want it to be something that really requires all I've got. Thank you for your sentiments about my DD's boyfriend. The most moving moment to me at the funeral was as he walked out by himself with his mother a few feet ahead and his half-sisters a few feet behind -- a solitary young man, left to find the road into manhood on his own. My DH lost his father when he (my DH) was 39, and he recently said that he wasn't ready to become the patriarch of his family at that point -- I can only imagine how daunting that is at 17. Thanks for "listening."

I'll be with you all on Saturday!

I LOVE the energy this discussion brings up every single month!

Michele, thanks for the break down on V1; do-able on the TM, but I think it may be better on my stationary bike with those shorter intervals.....sometimes those really short (20 sec) intervals are hard on the TM only because you have to press all those buttons (if you're between fixed speeds). Does that make sense?

I'm going to start a CCPP RESULTS thread right now, since I did it this morning!

I love it, too. I love the feeling of community and the sense that people really care about the welfare of their brothers and sisters.

I see what you're saying -- it probably takes too long to change the settings on a treadmill. In that case, a bike would be perfect. ;) :)

Hi all,

Just got done doing my CCPP workout, and I dedicated it to all the special people here on the forums -- and their friends and loved ones -- in need of extra support!! :)

Am happy to check in for the first time

My friend Becky told me about this challenge and I finally did it yesterday and hope to continue each month.

I ran for my older brother who has been battling skin cancer for 9 years. He will be going through another round of chemo soon and has had several surgeries.

Angela

Yay Angela!!!

I'm so happy to see you here. :) Welcome!

I'll be keeping your brother in my prayers.

Angela, welcome to Press Play Saturday!!! I'm thrilled you decided to join us!! Any friend of Becky's is a friend of ours. I did my workout before you posted so I didn't know about your brother, but I will keep him in my prayers and he has my best wishes as he goes through chemo. I'll be looking for you next month!
