Can someone recommend a good first Cathe DVD please?

I don't have a step so is there any that don't require one? I'm looking for something high energy and full of cardio and/ or lower body work.

Thanks!

The Kick Punch Crunch / Legs & Glutes DVD would be a good choice given what you've described: KPC is a kickbox workout and Legs & Glutes is a complete lower body workout. The DVD also has several premixes that incorporate footage from both of the workouts into new workouts.

For cardio only, also consider Kick Max from the Hard Core Series; it has some good cardio (especially the Blast Challenge) and some standing leg drills at the end.

I agree w/ Annette. KPC/L&G would be a good choice. I may also suggest Step, Jump, and Pump. There is a segement in SJP that uses a step, but you can just do the primix where you just do the non step cardio, and/or the weight training.

Good luck!

Okay, you must buy a step because once you do your first Cathe workout, you will never get enough! Cathe does not have many hi/lo workouts. The only cardio, besides step, is the kickboxing already mentioned. Cardio Kicks is also a wonderful kickboxing workout. One of her older workouts, Maximum Intenstiy Cardio is 30 mins of step/30 mins of hi/lo. This workout is a very good intro to Cathe's workouts.

Do you have a high step or a "fanny lifter" that the Firm uses?

^Thanks ladies! I don't have step (I throw one out years ago and am kicking myself) but I will look into getting one!

Also, Step, Jump & Pump has step, hi/lo and weights. This comes on a DVD with Step Blast which is a great step workout.

I would also agree about getting a step, once you just watch one measly video clip of Cathe doing a step workout you will be hooked! KPC/L&G would also meet the exact description you had!

Legs and Glutes requires a lot of equipment--barbell, dumbbells, high step, and ankle weights. KPC requires no equipment. I just didn't want you to get the DVD and be disappointed that you need equipment for one of the workouts. Eventually, you will end up buying all the equipment because you will love Cathe's workouts so much--why not start now?
