can less cardio really work?

I want to order this, especially since I have an 8 month old and less time on my hands, but while I know shocking your body works, I'm still hesitant to believe that shorter sessions will really work. Anyone feel the same? I have to decide by tomorrow morning.

I just ordered. From what I understand there is only one that is 20-25 minutes. All the rest are from 40-55 minutes. I think it will be nice to have a shorter session for days I have to do both sts and cardio. Or just once in a while (or most of the time) when I can't fit in a longer session.

lots of articles out there about HiiT(high intensity interval training) and many of them even recommend a 30-40 min window time frame. i think its QUALITY OVER QUANTITY in anything however. make the absolute most of the time you have and you can still reap results.

Different things work for different people. I vote: if you have the scratch, order the series now, and remember that if one HiiT routine doesn't fulfill it for you, you can always add on another routine, or mish-mosh it with another cardio routine of your choice.

Many people had the same concerns you’re having about cardio when we first announced our STS strength program. They felt three days just wasn’t enough for strength training. What they have found is they are now getting better results using STS for three days than they were with their former strength training routine which took up 6 days per week. The worst mistake you can make in working out, whether it is strength training or cardio, is to always do the same thing. You need to mix up your routines so that your body is always challenged and never gets bored.

The answer to your question is yes you can get excellent results by only training cardio for short periods as long as you use the HIIT training method. There are numerous studies you can Google that will even say the results of HIIT training are far superior to longer steady state workouts. Here is a link to a well know study called the Tabata Protocol that may give you some further insight into this:

We personally believe that HIIT and Steady State training each have their own advantages and this is why we use both methods in STS Shock Cardio. Just as we shock your body with STS Strength by using muscle confusion and periodization, we do the same in STS Shock Cardio by mixing HIIT cardio workouts with steady state routines.

According to Cathe's initial information, "Shock Cardio HiiT – High Intensity Interval Training: This DVD contains three workouts between 20 and 25 minutes in length."

Hi Fitmonkee! Please let me know if you have any further questions. Hugs to your little 8 month old. Love those chubby cheeks :D

Great point Aquajock! And wow, thanks for responding Cathe! I'll have to post some pics of James for you to see. He's got chubby cheeks and thighs you wouldn't believe! And he was a real trooper when I was pregnant...I worked out with you throughout the whole pregnancy! I'm going to order it and give it a try! Never got the strength one b/c I wasn't sure I'd be able to follow a strict routine. Turns out I make sure to get a workout in every day, but it's not so easy! and I can't always know how much time I'll have! I'm sure a lot of you understand!
