Calves on fire after jumping jacks??

Last night, I did a 2 minute set of jacks during my cardio workout, and my calves were screaming!! Is this normal??

It hurts just thinking about it.

I have trouble with too many jumping jacks, but for me, it's an ankle issue. But, just for you, Jerry, I'll do two minutes of them just to see how it feels the next day, and then I'll get back to ya.......well, maybe not!!!:p

I took a bootcamp class last year where we did around 400 jumping jacks (broken up into sets of 80 I think) and my calves were very sorry for a few days after the class. After the first class, I never got that soreness again.

Jerry, You sound human to me. ;)

I've noticed, even if I am fit, if a workout is intense in a way that my body is not used to, I struggle until the body adapts.

If you feel bad pain, or the pain does not reduce as you repeat the workout, I think it may be wise to switch.

I have a stronger low back than ever before now (which I attribute to yoga) but there are a few moves (a lot of the stuff in Tony's Core Synergistics for example) that just dont seem to get easier for me. It could be anatomical or it could be that my back is still not strong enough. My knees dont do well with torquey moves.

Oops, I meant to say my calves were SORE for a few days, but I guess they were sorry, too! :p I couldn't edit my original post.

I hadn't run for a few weeks - only use the TM right now- and the other day I could feel them.

And some of Cathe's calf routines get me if I have worked them for a while.

I bet they are looking pretty buffed just about now, huh Jerry?;-)

My calves look strong and to me they feel strong but I often have to wimp out on some of the moves Cathe and the crew seem to hop right through.
The same goes for triceps. I did Gym Style chest and triceps one time then I had to chisel ice of my car windows one night. Ouch!!! I could not find a way to lay my arm down in bed that did not hurt.
