CALORIES BURNED DURING BUTSS AND GUTS?

Hey everyone!
Does anyone know how many calories you can burn doing teh B&G workout *60 min), I am 5'2 and 148 pounds. I have tried to find the answer but can't!

Calories Burned During Butts and Gutts

Since I've been wondering the same thing, I'll wear my Polar heart rate monitor when I do Butts and Guts in the morning. I'll check back in with you and let you know my results.
 
If you put your information into the Workout Manager and then schedule a DVD workout for Butts & Guts, you'll see the estimated calories burned for your weight. 550 was my number and probably is pretty close for me.

You can do the same for all the Cathe DVDs.

Hey April, I CANNOT figure out how to do that. I have looked everywhere on the workout manager but can't find where to put my exercise/cathe DVD info...argh..

So, when you go the Workout Manager and your calendar comes up...

1) click on the number within the date box... any one will do until you get the hang of it...
2) when the next menu comes up, Select "ADD NEW" under the DVD Workouts line
3) a new box will come up that says "Schedule a Workout" and you will see a drop down box that has a complete list of all Cathe's current workouts... Pick the one that you are doing or did...
4) Once you select a workout it will automatically fill in the rest of the information. (be sure to read through the entire page, as there is an option to mark the workout "Complete" when you are finished and you access it the same way)
5) Hit Save... and all your info should be entered...

You can also do this with all the other workout types (Cardio, Yoga, Weights, and STS). I also believe that to be more accurate you need to enter your "stats" such as your weight, height, activity level, etc.. this will help make the data more custom to you...

You can also modify the minutes worked, since the WM does not yet list premixes, say if the standard time for a workout is 60 minutes, but you did a shorter timesaver premix and only worked a portion, say 40 minutes, you can change the time and it will adjust the calories...

Don't get too hung up on learning all this now as per SNM, the WM2 will be released sometime next week, but this should get you started :)


PS> make sure you don't have your pop-up blocker on, as the additional windows may not open :)
 
Butts and Guts Calories Burned

OK, I did the first 58 minutes of Butts and Guts, no ab work. My heart rate was anywhere between 124 an 170. I am 5ft even and 105 pounds and burned 324 calories. When my heart rate approached 170 I would cut down on the number of reps. I had to do this 3 times during the hour work out.
I should plug my stats into WM and see how it compares.

I plugged in Butts And Guts into WM, says I burned 549 calories . . . that was for the complete 70+ minute workout. I like this number much better than the heart rate monitor. I know I wasn't working as hard as Cathe. I will surely have DOMS for at least the next 3 days. I must remember to bring a pillow to sit on at work.
