Cathlete
FYI, I was short on time this morning and tried Cardio & Weights Step only pre-mix for my fasted cardio workout. This is a great timesaver. Here are my personal stats:

33:33 time for me (I had to pause slightly between #3 and #4
Average HR- 134
Calories- 408
Favorite step combo- #2

Try it, it's fun!

X,

Thanks for posting this. I do C&W step only all the
time when I don't have much time and I didn't know one
could burn so many calories.
Do you do it on a 6' or 8' step? I do it on a 6'.

Thanks
Kathy

Good God! 6" step. I already have to modify with the uneven squats off the edge of the board, and I practically trip through the "tap dance" on the top of the step. But man do I sweat and get breathing heavy!

Glad to know that someone else likes it too!

What is wrong with me? I do it on an eight inch step, and I don't burn close to 400 calories. The only way I burn 400 calories is to do an hour of intense step.

I would probably burn 400 calories, Caitlen, but I'm 5'10 and a "big" girl. (I HATE that phrase, but it's true). An hour of intense step like RS has me at 750-800. Fortunately, there is less of me. I cannot believe how much a 5 pound weight loss affects my cardio burn! I reset my heart rate monitor - I'm tempted to reset it back up - I like those numbers better...:+

Believe me Caitlin, it's because I'm 5'2" and let's say...dense matter, at just under 160lbs. That's why. If I were lighter I'd be burning slightly less. But this pre-mix still packs a powerful punch in such a short time!

I am 5'2" tall, and I weigh in the 130's. I am very densely packed with muscle, and people don't think that I weigh so much. I also do most of my step on an 8 inch step, and I wouldn't even get the calorie burn that I do if I used 6 inches. I wear a Polar F 4 heart rate monitor, and I read that they are pretty accurate. At 5'10", I would think of you as a tall girl, not necessarily big. I also find that many of us fit people can weigh more and not look overweight.

I agree with you that this premix packs a powerful punch. I am scheduled to do Maximum Intensity Cardio later on, so I will see what I burn during that, as it is 70 minutes long.

I'm 5'2 and I burned 576 calories doing MIC. I'm sure if I could finish it the whole way through, I'd burn even more.
