Burning out 1 muscle a day rotation with Intensity Series????

LuvCardio

Cathlete
I need some help! Before the new series I have been so use to buring out a minimum of 1 (usually 2) muscles per day. I usually "burn out" each muscle 1-2 times a week.

I am having a real hard time figuring out how to do this plus get enough cardio, plus the intensity series?

Maybe the Intensity series by itself just isn't real good for this type of a rotation. Maybe I should also start incorporating some of my other Cathe videos with it???

You could use the Intensity Series like it is on it's own for just a few weeks to shock your system and then start incorporating some of Cathe's other workouts, such as CTX weights and cardio with the Intensity Series. I totally understand what you mean about trying to figure out how to get it all in and get enough of each!

Thanks for the advice Linda. I think you are right. Maybe I should do the new series for awhile... learn the videos better (Lord knows I have a lot of growin' to do with them :)) and then figure it out after I know them better (and get my DVD's) I think the DVDs will make it a lot easier too.

Also, I am sure there will be several of us trying to do the same thing. So hopefully between all of us we will be able to figure out a cool rotation or 2!

I also posted a similar question on the Cathe forum. Hopefully she will answer. I am also concerned about losing the muscle mass I have worked so hard to build over the past few months (particularly in my upper body). However, I think there should be enough wt. training in the new videos to keep that from happenning? I asked Cathe that question so we'll see what she says!

Thanks again!

You're welcome!

I have tried all my videos, so far, except for the Pyramids. I think I will try using just this series for a while and see if I get any new results. (But I will try to add the extra cardio)

I am anxious to see her reply, too. I was checking out the different combos and bonuses on the DVD's and I really think that will make it easier, too! It looks like there a lot of "compressed" combos that are shortened a little and where we can do just upper, just lower, or take the 30 minutes of cardio from C&W and add then to...whatever!!! Yes, hopefully, we can figure out a good rotation to "get it all in"!! CAN'T WAIT to get my DVD's! Hopefully, just a few more days! :7

RE: Burning out 1 muscle a day rotation with Intensity ...

I was also concerned about losing strength so, I've been alternating the intensity series with S&H. What really surprised me is that when I did S&H following the intensity series, I was able to increase all of my weights and I could hold ALL of those darn planks all the way through for the first time! :7

Sonja,
How long have you been doing the S&H series with the Intensity series? Has it seemed like too much or just right? I have considered doing the same thing starting this week. Do you have any rotation you are using that you could share?? Are you working each body part once a week with S&H? I don't know how with the intensity series I could do any more than that.

That is awesome you can do the planks all the way thru! I can't yet! I am close though! Congrats!

RE: Burning out 1 muscle a day rotation with Intensity ...

I'm not doing them in the same week, just alternating a week of S&H plus a full body workout with a week of intensity videos. I've been pretty much doing this since the videos came out and I like how it feels. All of the core work in the intensity series really helps out when you go back to S&H.

Sonja,
That sounds like a good rotation idea! I love S&H a ton and have had great results with it. I think I might take your idea and see how it works! I definitely need the core work!

I have been using int. series as a whole for 4 weeks and do know that I have lost some strengh. So I am going to skip down my rotaion line and do ps one body part a day next week mixed with boot camp and cardio&wts in the evening as 2 of my cardio.and next week do slow and heavy the same way 1 part daily and mix bc and c& w and ctx the following week no bc or c&w.also I will throw in either m.e or power hour sometime on the weekend.
and then back to the intensity series.I really luv the new series it is awesome.

Have you guys been using the Pyramid's too, or just the others in Intensity Series? I did Upper Body for the first time today and have not done the lower. I am anxious to see how I feel after that and if it feels like I will lose strength. I really liked the Upper, but I wondered about, ie, the shoulder work (Since you use really light weights on that). But anyway...I did absolutely love it and felt strong afterwards. (Except for those darned inverted pikes - couldn't get those at all) :(

I also did IMax 2 with this. I love that one too!

I have used the upper body and I like it you can go heavy on the chest and back and the rest you do have to go lighter I really don't like not to be able to lift what I normally lift on a body part. The lower is a great workout.I feel as if these are endurance workouts because of the fact that on upper you work them all at one time without splitting them up so you can't go heavy on the smaller groups.Legs can be strengh if you top out on your heaviest set and really lift heavier than normal. But as I said I do believe I have lost some strengh on this rotation which I love and will go back to when I feel my strengh is back. But I also liked the idea mentioned above about alt. one week strengh and one week endurance so I planned a rotation for this and will start tommorrow.I love the pikes they take a lot of concentration.I have had my stability ball for a while and love doing crunches on them and was surprised cathe didn't do these in her video you really feel them.
