"Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" outstanding book

RE:

I've asked this before when this topic has come up, but for all of you who own this book, how do you print out that much? Do you do it at work or do you print it out from a home printer? If I printed out a 300 page book on my home printer it would not only take forever, but it would surely use up all the ink in my ink cardridge (and unfortunately they aren't cheap) and I don't think my office would be very happy with me using their paper and toner to print out something of that size.

RE:

I used my home printer but we bought a laser printer not too long ago so not a problem for me. This is the one unfortunate thing about e-books. If you don't have access to a good printer it can be a problem.

Hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion.

RE:

Sorry if this has already been asked, but does the book offer recipes or does it just give you guidelines on what to eat?
Thanks, kdl

RE:

I didn't see any recipies. It does give menu's for men and women based on calorie count and macronutrient percentages. It's very plain, very clean eating somewhat like you would see in Oxygen magazine. It also provides macronutrient information on various foods.

BTW, no ice cream is listed ;(

RE: BFFM

I just *had* to chime in here with another 2 thumbs up for BFFM. I absolutely *LOVE* this book! I read it about 3 months ago and went from 19% bodyfat to my current 14.5%. I'm working on 13%. BFFM is truly inspirational and actually fun and easy to read! Whenever I need motivation, I bring it back out.

To all those who are ordering, enjoy!

Also, there's a yahoo group dedicated to BFFM in case anyone's interested (is it ok to post it here?).

Good luck everyone!!

Hi,Carolyn!
I don't have this book, but I visited the site and looked at his FAQ. He states that vegetarians will have no problem with it, but that vegans are another story, because of the need to have complete proteins. He doesn't seem aware that soy is a complete protein. And he says that combining proteins to create a complete protein is not as effective. Maybe foodwise, but I think that several combo protein powders that use pea and rice (both high quality proteins, but incomplete on their own) would be an effective protein source. I think that vegans might need to rely more on protein powders than non-vegans when doing this plan, but I'm not sure.

Newmommy:

I have BFFM and I haven't printed it yet. I am reading from the computer, one chapter per day. (Although lately I have not been reading at all due to DH attention demands.) I have not printed it for the same reasons you mention, but I plan to print it later, when I can buy a new cartridge just for that. For now, it's not been a problem reading it from the computer.

I agree with everyone that has said that it is worth every penny. I have seen too many diet related concerns in these forums that this book answer an explain in a simple and straightforward way. Everyone that wants to lo lose fat PERMANENTLY, and without losing muscle should get this e-book.

Mariela

PS: Edited to add: It doesn't have recipes, but it has SAMPLE menus. He focuses more on guidelines on macronutrients than specific foods or recipes. That might not be a good thing for some, but for me it was great, since I like to have the choice to decide what my food will be. Also, many books list foods or recipes unfamiliar to me. Sometimes I don't even know what the food is. That doesn't happen with BFFM. I can recognize most foods in the sample menus. Nothing exotic or fancy.

RE:

There is a recipe book that comes with it. When you pay for the BFFM book, you get like six other books for free. One is a recipe book. Those of you who downloaded the BFFM book, make sure you get the rest of them as well, all have excellent info in them.

Hi Candi -

I finally bought the book and purchased some 3-hole paper today. I'm really looking forward to reading this.

Thanks for the push!

RE:

I absolutely love this book! It's the most no-nonsense book (besides ABS Diet) that I have ever read. Even though I'm still reading it I know that Cathe workouts and BFFM will be a knock-out combination. I plan on starting in September (I figure I'll have had time to read all of the books).

For those that have a problem with printing you could save the book on a disk and then bring it to Staples or Office Max to have them print it out. It will cost you much less than buying expensive ink jet cartridges.

RE:

Anyone have any idea why the book costs $40 then and you don't even get an actual book? Sounds like the book ends up costing over $50.

I take it you all think that's worth it...

Oh yeah, and can anyone define "macronutrient" for me? I'm clueless.

Sigh. Yet another thing to save up for!! ;)

RE: Burn the Fat Book, and saving it to a disk

What type of disc did you have the book saved to? Was it a floppy disc or a CD type diskette and how much did they charge you to print everything out?

RE: Burn the Fat Book, and saving it to a disk

amyg,

Macronutrient is the breakdown of calories, carbs, proteins and fats contained in food.

I do think the book is worth it's weight in gold. There are several other books provided in addition to this one. But, everyone needs to make that decision for themselves. I see this more as a text book than a self help book but that's JMO.

RE:

I'm interested in hearing if anyone has put it on a disk. If I try to print it out at home, dh will kill me. I am seriously considering purchasing it solely on the recommendations posted here...his website kinda makes me feel like I'm watching a over zealous infomercial. What makes it so special? Marnie

RE:

I'd like to know, too. My computer is on the kaputz and I want to know if I can save it to disk, preferably CD. I'd like to buy it and take it to work and print it on the laser printer. If I can't save it to a CD, though, it won't work for me and I'm afraid if I stored it on my hard drive I'd lose it.

RE: In reply to 38

Yes, I really want to know if this can be saved on a disk, preferably CD. I'd really like to save it and take it to a kinko's and what was the final price after you guys bought it? Does this guy have paypal?
