Buff Badgers Week of March 14th

Hello Ladies. Hope you had an easy adjustment to the time springing forward. I worked out on Saturday but can't remember what I did. This morning was Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I had a hard time increasing my weight by an additional 5% at times. When I did, I just used the same weight from last week. I really like how Meso 2 changes things up a bit. I was thinking about the progress that I have made in my strength since last summer. I did Slow and Heavy for the first time in August and was proud when I could do flat bench tricep extensions with 8 lbs. Even, then i could only do one set. Now--I am pushing out 12 lbs. of 3 sets. I know the movement is not as slow---but it is still hard for me to believe.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Good Morning,

Sat. I just snowshoed and on Sun. I snowshoed and cross country skied for a very short mile and fell on my tail bone. Back to the chiro. Today I did Supreme 90 chest/back and bi and arms. Really love those workouts.

Heartymax, nice job on those triceps. They should be rock hard in no time.

Have a good week.

Morning Ladies,

Saturday was Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps don't remember which disc I did. Sunday I took a day off, and this morning was One on One Plyo Legs.

heartymax, WTG on the weight increase, you are doing great. That exercise happens to be my favorite on for the triceps. ;)

Karen, You did both workouts this morning? You have to let me know how your body feels after that! ;) I only have a week until my rotation starts, and I'm ready for a change of pace.

Have a wonderful day!

Heartymax - 12 pounds for flat bench tricep extensions is really good. That is one exercise I can really feel it when I slow down and concentrate on the muscle being worked. I have a hard time increasing my weight in some exercises, too, so I'm thinking I started out too heavy to begin with. Better that than not pushing myself though.

Karen - The snow around here is quickly melting so I don't know if I'll be able to snowshoe or cross-country ski this year. Ouch on the tail bone.

Laurie - I tried Tabata Inferno on Saturday! :D I can see why you like it. The last 2 circuits - especially the last one - I was yelling at my tv "You've got to be kidding!" but I made it through - without pausing no less. Who does One on One Plyo Legs?

Saturday was Tabata Inferno from Supreme 90. I also did 2 Nicole Stewart Pilates workouts from Exercise TV. They're 12 minutes each - 1 for legs and 1 for abs. I wish she would do a full-length Pilates dvd. I like her as an instructor. Sunday was STS Disc #11 and today was STS Disc #12 so I am officially done with Mesocycle 1! :D Recovery week won't start until Thursday though because I've only done 1 cardio this week so far. My week goes from Wednesday - Tuesday so it's kind of messed up to begin with and then I took 2 rest days last Wednesday and Thursday. I plan to do lots of walking, abs and Pilates for recovery. I might try my shake weight workout, too. The kids got it for me as a joke for Christmas and I'm curious how bad it is.

Hi everyone! Had a good weekend. sat I did hardcore extreme cardio with legs. Wow, it has been ages since I did any of those extremes..it was a good workout. those legs from Kickmax are a killer!

Today was disk 4.

Heartymax, nicely done on the weights!!

Sue...don´t you feel great getting a meso under your belt??!! I can do STS for the 3.5 months, but then I won´t do it again for a long while. It sure does what it claims, though!

Karen, how´s the tail bone...that can really hurt. Maybe at the chiro you should have him/her check your leg...or is it better? Hope so!

Laurie, One on One is a new one, no? You are the queen of new workouts ;):D who does that one?

My kids got me a digital photo frame and I just got pictures up on it this weekend. Now I get much less work done, because I am constantly looking at the pics! It´s great!!

Intensity Step Only premix followed by a segment of Ab Hits.

Sue---Wow! It seems like you finished Meso 1 quick. Time sure flies. Enjoy your recovery week. Walking sounds good and less stressful on the body:D. Tell us about the shake weight when you try it.

Karen---ouch! Hope you are ok.

Laurie----shoulders, biceps and triceps is my favorite combination. I don't like doing chest and back work nearly as much. You and that Plyo work...your legs must be getting pretty strong!

Lala---enjoy your digitial frame. I think I will start dropping the "hint" for a mother's day gift.

Hi Susan!

Hi Ladies! Sorry I did not get to post yesterday!:( Had a pretty nice weekend. Saturday was the elliptical for 45mn followed by ab work. Sunday was my rest day (finally!) Monday I did Intensity (everything but the boot-camp part). Today is KenpoX.

Heartymax: You are doing really well on your STS rotation. Keep it up!

Karen: How is your tailbone? Did you bruise it?

Laurie: I thought of you this weekend when I watched the Insanity infomercial. Boy, that looks really tempting!

Sue: I'll have to look up Nicole Stewart. Glad you have found a pilates instructor you like.

Lala: are you doing a rotation or just deciding day by day? I am hoping to start running again during my Break next week. Have you been out lately?

Have a great day ladies! Susan

Morning Ladies,

Today was Disc 16 Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. Only one more weight workout for this undulating rotation, and then I am starting up Supreme 90 next week.

Sue, I have not heard to much about the shake weight, but have fun with it. LOL on the Tabata Inferno, that is why I love the thing. Those type of workouts are nothing fancy, but they give you a great workout. Tony is the one that does the One on One workouts.

Lala, The plyo leg workout was one of Tony's frist One on One workouts. I think he is on his 3rd year with these workouts. I only got a few of these, it started getting to expensive to pay $20 for one workout.

heartymax, We are in the same boat, I don't like chest & back as much either. I have noticed a huge difference in my legs since I started doing Insanity and plyo work on a regular basis. I have reduced the size of my calf muscles, and that is something that I never thought would happen.

Susan, I love the Insanity workouts, but they can be very intense. Sometimes that makes me want to avoid them, but you feel so great afterward.

Have a great day!

Today will be a run after school. Love getting out when it´s sunny and warm :)

Laurie, I think we decided we were both doing the undulating rotation. I still have 6 more weeks after this week. I think I´ll be taking a rest week next week, though. And am seriously thinking about Supreme 901;)

Susan, I´ve been able to get out running 1-2 days/week. am hoping that now it will be 3. I´m doing Cristof´s undulating:

Hi Heartymax, Karen, and Sue!

Hey gang! Well, I walked to work and back for a total of 3 miles then I walked Ruby after work for 2 more miles. I am supposed to be doing Pilates Max, however, my kids need my help with homework and DH is out of town so it may not happen! Glad I got my walking in at least. Might sneak in some pilates after they are in bed!

Laurie, yea, I think those Insanity's look kind of scary myself! Does he have background music? I thought I read a review somewhere that said there was no music?

Lala, hope you enjoyed your run!

Hi Sue, Karen and Heartymax! Hope all is well!

If I don't get a chance to get on tomorrow: My workout will be Core Synergisitcs and also...Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am Irish and my DH is not but I love celebrating it anyway! :D

Take care- Susan

Hi BB's,

Today I did S90 Tabata Inferno and S90 Legs. Didn't get a workout in yesterday except a little in the clinic I went to on nordic walking. Got skies for next year so I am going to practice with the nordic walking this summer. Love clearance time.

Susan, have fun celebrating tomorrow. Nice you can still help your kids with their homework. Tailbone still hurts to sit back on but otherwise my leg still hurts a bit and my tailbone a bit.

Lala, wish I could run again, just when I am ready to start I get another injury. This weather is making me want to run. Extreme cardio/legs sounds like a tough workout.

Laurie, love the S90 workouts. I am still sore from the back to back workouts the other day. They go by so fast.

Sue, nice job on your STS rotation. Enjoy your rest week.

Heartymax, looks like Intensity has taken over cardio fusion as your favorite step workout. Nice job with meso 2. My fav.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted but yesterday was a Lunch and Learn at work on eating healthy (didn't learn anything new but got a free lunch) and today I was I. Lake Geneva for a conference. Yesterday I did Prevention Fight Cellulite Fast and this morning was 2 Leslie Fat Burning Miles. It's gorgeous outside and I should go for a walk but just want to take a nap.

Susan - It would be about 40 miles for me to walk to and from work so I'm jealous you can do that.

I think I will rest my eyes a bit before picking up DD. Ta ta!

Hi! Well, I did get my run in...just under 5 miles and that run/walk method has really brought down my time :)

Today was disk 5, I think...legs...what a tough workout!

Karen, hope your tailbone and leg recover...those tailbones can take a while :(
From what I understand the Supreme 90 workouts are all under an hour, is that right?

Susan, good idea to walk to work, unless, of course it´s 20 miles one way ;)

Sue, and who says there´s no such thing as a free lunch?

Laurie, Are you done with your undulating rotation now? Was it a 3 monther? I´m about 1/2 through and honestly, I need that rest week, because I fell like I really want to move on!!

Hi, Heartymax

Lala, can you describe what you do in the program. I looked on the site and the workout you talk about isn't on there. Thanks.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm not wearing green today, because I'm not Irish! LOL Very busy day for me yeserday, and I didn't workout either. I was feeling something not right with my shoulder, and I didn't want to do anything to aggrivate it. The morning I felt much better and did my last STS workout for this rotation. Disc 24 Back & Biceps.

Lala, I don't blame you for wanting to change up your rotation. I had scheduled my rotation for four months, but changed it to three. I really want to try out these S90 workouts, I really have not heard all that many bad things about them. Take the time off, and then do the last month at a later time. ;)

Susan, There is music in the Insanity workouts, but you really can't hear it. I actually don't notice that it isn't there. Hope your St. Patrick's Day is fun, are you eating corn beef? :D

Karen, That is the one thing I have been enjoying about these workouts. You feel worked out even though you only did 40 min. of exercise.

Sue, They always have those things at work here, and they never tell me anything different. I have gotten to the point of not going to them. Wonder if they are now telling something that I might not know. :D

Have a great day!

Hello there! I did accomplish Core Synergistics today. That workout just does not get any easier for me!

Laurie, yes, I did make corned beef and veggies in my slow cooker.:) The kids LOVE it. Well, maybe I could play my own music if I get insanity! I really like it loud when I work out!

I hope you all have a good evening, no matter what you do!

See ya tomorrow! Susan

Hey Ladies. Tues. and Wed. of this week was state testing at my school so I am doing a lot of standing and walking around. I decided not to do my leg workout Wednesday to give my legs a break. I overslept this morning so I didn't get a chance to make it up. Looks like I am behind again this week, but will definitely get caught up. Sunday will not be a rest day for me now.

lala---the weather has been sunny and beautiful most days this week. Glad you are getting to run in such great weather.

Karen--good to hear your tailbone is slowing getting better.

Laurie---I understand that "funny shoulder feeling". It seems like my shoulders getting a workout during the chest workout too.

Hi Sue and Susan!

Hi! this a.m. was 40/20. Tried to modify the butt kicks to butt-kicks without going over the step...just facing it straight on, but still my knee twinged...maybe I´ll try plyo-jacks next time. I think only twice have I done the lateral jumps over the step and this morning did not feel like stumbling on it, so just did them over an imaginary band! I always feel so worked out after that one!

Karen, basically he says that you should take walk breaks during your run. His big thing is lots of walk breaks during the first mile especially. He has an audio program that is a free download from http://motiontraxx.com/
which is one minute walking, one minute running. Lately I´ve been 2 minutes running, 1 walking. The other day I did 3:1 and my time went up! He also has some other basics of his program, like the "magic mile" (which I haven´t done yet) but I think it´s to find out a good pace. Try this link:
http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/half_marathon.html
that has links to his magic mile workout, etc.

Laurie, that´s not a bad idea...especially with an undulating rotation, it´s not like I lose a whole meso cycle.

Susan, is core synergists a pilates workout?

Heartymax, well, we take our rest days when we can or when they come to us!!

Hi Sue!

Happy Friday Ladies! DH is home today so my youngest son can stay home and ride the bus this morning. That saves me about 20 minutes. So, I got up a few minutes earlier than usual so-----Today was Double STS!!! I finished Back and Biceps and Leg workout! I skipped a few reps on the Leg workout to save some time. The heavy weights sure gets the heart rate up. Today, I noticed that my left bicep didn't seem as strong as my right when doing alternating curls. I have to volunteer for an evening activity at my son's school today so I hope I have some energy left this evening. Today is scheduled to be a beautiful 75 degree day. Let me find my sandals. :D

Have a great weekend ladies and i will check in this evening.

Morning Ladies,

Today was Bodystrikes with Ilaria.

This weekend is going to be a busy one for us. We are having the family over for the girls 14th and 18th birthday parties. Sure is nice that they only have 8 days of seperation! :D Makes the cake eating all in one day, but I had to get two cakes. DD18 wanted the Dairy Queen cake, and the youngest wanted a cake from National Bakery with the whip cream frosting. (Yum!) So plenty of eating of cake this weekend for sure.

Susan, Good for you on getting through that Core Syn workout. I can truly say that one is not a workout that I just want to do.

heartymax, We just received our youngest results from the state testing yesterday. She did really well, and I was very proud of her. She even handed over her report card, something that she would have given us in the morning before she needed to get on the bus. :D And she did really well on that to. Guess someone doesn't want to go to summer school this year, I'm hoping that last year was a lesson learned. ;)

Lala, I don't like that move on the step either, I think it is having to get my big feet over the step. I always seem to trip on the step.

Have a great day!
