Happy Valentine's Monday to everyone!

On Saturday I did Intensity and Butts and Gutts Stability Abs. My DOMS from STS Legs were not as bad this week so I was able to get through the Saturday step routine without much problem.

I am in week 3 of Meso 1. Chest, Shoulders and Biceps this morning followed by one segment of Ab Hits. Thanks to everyone on your suggestions for increasing my weights one pound. I hadn't even thought about ways to do it without purchasing additional items. I just pulled out the 1lbs weights from my weighted vest. They are comfortable to hold. Someone may not think one pound can make a difference but it definitely can. My shoulders are so fried until I can barely type this message. There were a few that I could only get in 12 reps instead of 15.

What a great weekend as far as weather went. :) Saturday I did 30/30 and Sunday was Bob Harpers Yoga for the Warrior and the 15 min. Abs that go along with it. That ab section is really tough, kind of reminded me of Ab Ripper X, but a lot more fun. This morning was Disc 20 Legs.

Youngest DD had some warts frozen on her foot on Friday, so she was hobbling around all weekend. DD17 cleaned the house! :eek: Can you tell I had a great weekend. Must have been a V-Day present.

heartymax, Even Cathe says that one pound can make a difference, and I was surprised also. It can be really hard to go up to a 5lb increment, so I'm glad that I did the increase one lb at a time.

My weekend is a blur. I was ill Friday. Saturday DS woke up with a high fever (103), sore throat etc, DD woke up with sore throat, cold, I was still sick and not getting much better. Took kids to walk-in clinic. Was told they both had a sore throat virus that is going around but it's not strep.
I had my sister-in-laws baby shower to attend Saturday as well. DS proceeded to sleep the entire day away and woke up a bit better Sunday morning. DD was better too. I was up until 3:30 am this morning, coughing, blowing my nose, not able to breathe, and had a sore throat.:mad:I got almost 2 hours of sleep! The good thing is that it's an early-release day for the schools so I do not have to work. But I do have to take DD to see her therapist in Green Bay. Hope my eyes stay open! I have been taking some Tylenol Severe Sinus and Congestion and it is helping actually.

I had in my e-mail a link to a workout from Tonique. I viewed it and thought, since it's only 13mn, I think I can do it. At least it's something and maybe it'll give me some much needed energy. I don't think I can handle PlyoX like I had hoped! So that and probably some pilates is on the agenda today. Oh, I should walk Ruby too. I love this warmer weather, but when I walk her, she gets soooo dirty! She is like a magnet for puddles!:eek: Makes me dread taking her anywhere!

Heartymax, I truly believe a pound can make a difference. Especially when I work shoulders and biceps! My shoulders get pretty tender, pretty fast so I stick with light weights. Good idea using the 1# from your vest!

Laurie, you sound like one happy lady! Glad you had such a nice weekend! Hope DD's foot is better today. I got to admit this warm weather is making me think of setting a new running goal for myself. My last goal was the Turkey trot. I think there is something up here in May or so for Breast Cancer. I am going to look and get myself psyched up!

Heartymax - Good job on your continuing progress with STS. I'm glad to hear the DOMS gets better with the legs. I'll probably start STS this week or next.

Laurie - Freezing warts HURTS! Poor DD. Can I borrow DD17 to clean MY house? ;) Haven't tried the abs from Bob's yoga dvd. Sounds tough.

Susan - You sound absolutely miserable! Sending Get Well hugs to you and the rest of your family.

I took Friday off and did a KPC premix on Saturday instead. It was KPC/L&G Strength premix. Yesterday I did Turbo Jam Dance Remix 2. This morning was Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga Level 1 plus 1 Leslie Fat Burning mile. Not a high energy morning so took it kind of easy.

Hi everyone! Sat I ran 3.5 miles...my times are getting better! Slept in today so just finished disk 1.

Laurie, You got in some great workouts...plus a clean house :)

Susan, hope you get better, lots of sickness around here...sore throats, strep, etc. So glad it's not strep at your house.

Sue, How long is that premix on KPC? sounds like a good one...I may want to try it!
 
Laurie----the weather here was beautiful this weekend also. The kids love those surprise weather days when they don't need a big coat.

Sue---I don't have KPC but I believe I recall doing a portion of it from the TimeSaver disk. I can't wait to hear what you think of STS.

Susan-----what a tough weekend with everyone being sick. This time of year is full of viruses and anything else that can spread. I know how it feels to hate to be sick and really want to get the workout in. Sounds like you made a good choice of workouts for a day of illness.

lala---I really am enjoying STS. Those are my 3 favorite workout days of the week now.

This morning I did 40/20 followed by the regular ab section of Butts and Gutts. I am trying to figure out if I like it or the Bonus Stability Ball Abs section the best. They are both pretty tough so I am not sure.

Sun. I did Peak Interval Strength, Mon. no workout and today I did Paul Katami Bootcamp 4x4. I have to do circuits because I need to keep making up for missed cardio or weight days.

DS bb team finished 5th in the tournament in Colfax. Last night in their city league game they lost.

Susan, sorry everyone was not feeling well on your end. Hope you are all doing better today.

Lala, nice job on your running times getting better. I need to start running again but increase the mileage gradually to hopefully not get hurt.

Sue, nice job on getting those workouts in. I can hardly wait to see how you like STS.

Laurie, did you like Bob's yoga dvd? I have it but have not tried it yet. My DD had warts on her hands and I used apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball with a bandaid over it at night and they are gone. Glad your DD got hers taken care of. Nice Valentine present you got from your oldest DD.

heartymax, glad your doms are not as bad this week. STS days are my favorite days of the week too.

heartymax, Got to love those Hiit workouts, and adding on an ab workout is so good.

Karen, Sounds like circuits are a good plan of attack! I love Bob's yoga DVD, it has good music and I feel like it is more athletic. Has a lot of push-up/plank so your upper body will get a workout.

Today was HiiT pyramids and now I am totally enjoying just sitting here on the couch with my compu!

Karen, how much do you increase your running? I understand it should be about 10% a week.

Heartymax, I am working on getting more ab workouts in, so I might do one of those premixes from B&G...it's been a long time since I've done that one.

Hope you all had a nice valentine's day. We did nothing special, but are back with our dance classes and it's been fun!

Hi ladies. Today was Pilates Maximum Burn for 50mn, plus walking of course. I did that Tonique workout I got off of her web site. I have never done one of her workouts before. Not sure what I think! I know Sue does a lot of her workouts, she was a little dancy to me.

Feeling okay but still had a rough nights sleep. Head is still a mess but my cough is better. DS is having ear pain. Ouch! He's so congested!

You ladies are doing great with your workouts! I need to sit down and write up a new rotation. I hate not having anything written up! I am too organized to just "pick" something!

Hopefully tonight I will sleep better!

Chest & Back this morning! Felt great. ;)

Just got back from the prep work for my crown, that is probably the longest time that one has to spend in the dentist chair. All that grinding down of the tooth. :confused: Now I have a temp. plastic tooth. :D

Lala, DH and I didn't do anything special for Valentines day either. I love that Hiit workout the best.

Susan, The other Tonique workouts are not dancy at all. Glad that you where able to get a good nights sleep. Have fun with PlyoX.

Lala - I'd have to look up how long that KPC/L&G premix is. My guess is the 40-45 min. range. It's a good one. You do all 3 combos with standing leg work in-between so the heartrate stays up the entire time.

Susan - Glad you're feeling better.

I DID IT! STS Disc 1 completed this morning. I printed out workout cards and found I had entered in a few 1 Rep Max numbers a long time ago so I used those weights as guildelines for the other exercises. Started out much heavier than I thought I would. Some tweaking is needed but for the most part I got the weights about right I'd say. Definitely struggling on the last few reps. Pushups went better than expected. Dropped to my knees on the staggered ones and the 30 in the beginning. My only complaint is all the equipment that had to be continuously shuffled around. Not used to that with Jillian and other stuff I've been doing lately. Will have DOMS tomorrow for sure.
 
Sue----Awesome job on starting STS! I only had a few 1RM done also and just made good guess on the others.

I am so tired right now. I started my workout at 4:15 this morning which is about 30 minutes earlier. I had to be to go to another school today to be on a crisis team because a teacher was killed. I thought about skipping my workout, but I know how much I love my workouts and it helps with stress....so I chose to get up and make the best of it. I am so exhausted right now though. At least I don't have to do an evening workout to make up for it. I didn't have time to get in abs so I will definitely have to make it fo rit tomorrow.

Gotta run....take a nap.

Today I did KCM Step Kickboxing 2.

Susan, glad you are feeling a bit better, hopefully DS gets better soon also. I don't have a rotation written down either which for me is a good thing because I would constantly be changing it due to no workout.

Laurie, how long did the prep work take? Have you tried S90 yet?

Sue, did you love STS? It's always nice when you can do more pushups than you thought you could.

Lala, Love those Hiit workouts. I normally don't increase I just run 5 miles at a time because if it is not an hour I don't consider it good enough for a cardio day. Not smart. This year I will do it a bit better.

Heartymax, good job getting up so early. Get a good nights rest tonight.

Sue, WTG on starting STS. Yes there are a lot of changes, and they do move fast. I have had to and still do pause the dvd player because I'm not set up yet.

heartymax, Great job on getting the workout done. Sorry to hear about the teacher. Hope you got some rest.

Karen, I have not done an S90 workout yet, I'm going to try the Tabata workout tomorrow. Will let you know about that one. I was in the dentist chair for two hours! :eek: My next appt should be really short, all he needs to do is fit the crown.

Karen - I *love* how my muscles feel after doing STS. Does that count? :p

Laurie - I have a few crowns in my mouth and 2 hours sounds like a long time! He didn't sneak out to the golf course while you were sitting in the chair did he? ;) Just joking - it's been awhile so maybe it did take that long. Don't eat any gummy bears with that temporary crown. ;) The name "Tabata" sounds very mystical. I had to google it and it looks tough! Right up your alley.

I started out this morning with LIS but my ankle was feeling like I would twist it if I continued with those mambo cha-chas so I switched to LIC and did the 1st 2 segments. It was only about 30 min. of cardio so I hope to get a quick cardio in tonight, too. DD asked her boyfriend to Sadie's so we have to find a dress before Saturday night. Good thing I got a 30% off coupon for Kohl's in the mail! :D

Susan, glad you are feeling a bit better. We did the same workout today. I usually write my rotations down too but lately I end up rewriting them daily as I miss so many workouts.

Laurie, Do you enjoy Insanity or do you just do it because it burns a lot of calories or just like that kind of training? Just curious. I'll be interested to hear what you thought of Tabata as my S90 is coming via Mary in a few days.

Lala, how is this teacher protesting stuff affecting you and your school? Hope all is well.

Hi Ladies.... I got a much needed nap after work. I woke up about 8 PM and stayed up for about 2 hrs. and went back to bed. I overslept this morning so I guess my body was still tired. I woke up at 5:55 which is late as I am normally done working about no later than 6. I decided to get squeeze in a premix of Intensity for a 35 minute workout....I had to skip abs due to lack of time which means I haven't done abs for 2 days now.

Laurie---A friend let me borrow a Taebo tape so I plan to check it out this weekend.

Sue-----I guess your muscles are talking to you today!!

Susan---glad you are feeling better. I let a friend borrow my High Reps since I am doing STS right now. She has never done Cathe so I wanted to introduce her to it. She told me that she was "cursing" at Cathe and how she has never done so many reps at a time. I thought it was so funny.
