Bringing up the Rear Check-In

Hello!
Sorry I've been MIA; last week was really busy at work and this week I've been feeling kind of crappy and didn't have motivation. Tomorrow I have to get back at it. I'm starting week 3 of Zuzka's lb over again so 2 more weeks. Next she's supposed to be doing a month of abs. I need to get back to my gbs and ht, I might try to do Zuzka and incorporate Bret's gluteal goddess program after I finish these next two weeks.

I'll have to remember those mats when I get to build my at home gym someday! :)

Last night I did Get Glutes. One more day of month 7 to go and then on to month 8.

Carolyn I understand about paralysis by analysis. I often get information overload and then can’t make a decision. We actually got our mats at Big R but they didn’t have anything online for me to link to. We have a TSC here and they do carry them in the store but Big R was about $5 cheaper per mat so we went with them.

Amanda So far this week today is looking like my only good day at work. Tomorrow I have meetings from 8-3 ugh! So happy it is Wednesday though. I hope you are feeling better today and got your motivation back.

I have Crohn's which is an autoimmune intestinal disease; sometimes I feel pretty badly and get tired so it's better to rest when I feel like that otherwise I feel like crap for longer.

Today I did Z lb #7, shoulder work, some band rows and pull downs, raised gb and band hip abductions.

You are right I was looking at Strong Curves again and I meant I was going to try the gorgeous glutes not gluteal goddess. After looking at it again I didn't know how I would do that, Z and my upper body work. So I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing but be sure to get in at least 1 glute exercise every day too. I think I'll rotate between raised gb, ht and deadlifts.

GS back, shoulders and biceps is one of my favorites!

Are either one of you thinking about Cathe live or on demand? I think we all have most of Cathe's DVDs! I'm just missing some of the Shock Cardio, MMA and Step but I don't think I'm interested in any of those.

Way to go Julie on completing 7 months of Get Glutes!! That's awesome!!

Today I did Z lb #8, biceps, ht and deadlifts. My glutes were on fire after the ht; been too long since I've done them!

Last night I did my last workout of month 7 of Get Glutes. Saturday I am starting month 8 and then doing the Race for the Cure with DH. His mom passed away due to breast cancer 20 years ago so this is pretty emotional time for him. We are going to walk with his sister and brother and their families. Hopefully it will be nice weather.

Amanda Oh wow, I didn't know you had Crohn's. You are amazing to keep up with working out with that.

I am possibly interested in the Cathe Live segments. I don't need the On Demand because I have all her workouts plus I hardley ever travel so I just don't see it worth the cost. I probably won't get Cathe Live until it has been out awhile. The only thing that intrigues me about it is the segments she would do that are not live classes. Maybe quick HiiTs or discussions on relevant topics. So I will probably wait until they have built up a good size library before checking it out for a month.

Yesterday I did Z LB #1, chest, triceps, raised gb's and band side steps. Today I did Z LB #3, ht and back.

Julie that's very touching that you're walking in memory of dh's mom. He must have been pretty young when he lost his mom, that's really sad. I hope you have nice weather.

I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, it took about a year to get a diagnosis. Mine is more moderate, there are a lot of people that suffer a lot worse then I do. I swear by Keifer and probiotics-they might help your husband and sister if they've never tried them before.

Saturday I started month 8 of Get Glutes and then DH and I walked the 1 mile in the Race for the Cure. The weather was beautiful. After that, we had brunch with my family and then just hung out until supper time when we grilled out. Sunday I did the second workout of month 8 Get Glutes and then was extremely lazy the rest of the day. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Carolyn I love the step ups in Muscle Endurance! They are one of my favorite exercises just for the reasons you stated.

Amanda Yep DH was 20 when his mom died. I never met her but I heard she was a wonderful person.

I posted last night but I kept getting a message saying I needed to log in so it didn't actually post :(
Here it is again.

Zuzka totally kicked my butt last night lb #10; there were 20 kb swings after each exercise which totaled to 180! They were supposed to be one arm-10 each. Some of them I did both arms :p That was probably the most intense w/o I've done for awhile! Then I did shoulders and 2 sets of 1 leg gbs.

Tonight I'm doing Z lb #11, biceps and ht.

Next week I'm starting Z's summer abs which will be 3 ab workouts with 2 of the lb workouts I've been doing each week...should be good.

Carolyn that leg blast premix sounds good...I never knew about that one!

Another super busy week. Quick post today since I have 8 hours of meetings I have to get to. I did Get Glutes Month 8 Workout 3 last night. It started with heavy deadlifts. I pulled 200 lbs.!! So excited that I finally got to 1.5 x my bodyweight on deadlifts. Now to work on doing my bw in squats.

Carolyn Awesome that you worked out with your neighbor. I hope your IT band is feeling better.

Amanda KB swings are sneaky intense. I have never tried 1-arm swings but they are in my next Get Glutes workout so we will see how they go.

Ctx upper body is really good, great add ons to get some strength in after cardio

This week has just been too crazy work wise and weather wise. I did do Get Glutes last night. I am so looking forward to the weekend and hoping next week is better. This week our weather has been cold for mid-May, around the 50s so I am hoping next week we start to creep back into the 70s again.

Carolyn The 200# deadlift I did was a conventional (traditional) deadlift. I am thinking the one that you look like an upside down L is more like a stiff-leg or straight leg deadlift like Cathe does. Here is a video of me doing 155# deadlifts. I took this for a form check from Bret about a month ago.

Amanda I never thought I could do 200# on the deadlift. It surprised the heck out of me and even more so when I woke up with no lower back pain from doing it.

I suck at conventional deadlifts...I should probably try to work on them. I feel like I don't do them right...so I just don't do them :p
 
I can’t believe it is Monday already! Saturday I did Get Glutes and then DH and I put together my new power rack. I will try to take some pictures of my new weight room and post them for everyone to see. Sunday I did another Get Glutes and then was lazy the rest of the day.

Thanks for the compliments! Bret and Kellie both responded. It was funny because they both had varying opinions. They both said I looked good but then gave me different form pointers to hone in on. Bret said to watch for any back rounding as I go heavier. Kellie told me to brace my core more.

I used to suck at conventional deadlifts and still prefer sumo style over conventional but I dropped the weight with the conventional a ton and really concentrated on my form and I think that helped. I also think building up my glutes has helped too.

Hello!
Saturday I went to an all day seminar on yoga, motivation etc. It was awesome. I did yoga twice that day. Monday I did z lb #12 which finished that series then I did the first ab w/o in the new series and Z yoga. Yesterday I did Zab #2 shoulders, raised gbs and reverse hypers on the ball.
Julie so cool that they both got back to you! Yay for the new equip.

Today I did Z lb #8, biceps, step ups, deadlifts and band abductions.

It was Lori Harder's Day of Bliss that I went to, I don't know if you two follow her at all but I think she's awesome! So I wasn't really going for the yoga just happened that it was part of the day, the yoga was so fun though and I definitely worked up a sweat. I've tried it a few times at home but never totally got too into it but now I might have to look up a class! The yoga instructor was a lot of fun.

I did Get Glutes yesterday. Set some personal records. Did a full squat 7 reps @ 110# and bench press 85# for 12. Not sure where all that strength and energy came from.

I have always wanted to get into yoga too. I just can't seem to let myself relax though. I can usually do about 15-20 minutes before I start to get antsy.

I did some yoga yesterday. Had a great weekend lots of playing outside! Hope you two did as well.
Did you guys see the news, new series coming! ?!? I'm so excited it sounds exactly what I've been hoping for yay!!!!!!
