LAST EDITED ON Mar-01-02 AT 03:29PM (Est)[p]I would like to use this thread to brag. Not to annoy anybody but for each of us to post one Cathe accomplishment they are proud of. I'll go first. Yesterday I did LL without stopping. I have ALWAYS stopped on the sit and stands and on the static lunges and just watched as Cathe, Hope, Rhonda and the gang finish the sets. But yesterday I was right there with them. Today I wanted to kick up my heels but my hammies are too sore, so this is my way of celebrating. Someone else share please? This is fun! THANK YOU CATHE!!!!

Hi Jillybean :)
I'll share...

I too made it through LL without stopping this week! I had been stopping early on the static lunges when Cathe and the crew would get almost to the end of them, on the "down slow for 3, up slow", so I would pause and wait for them, catching my breath! But Tuesday, I pushed straight through! It was so funny because I could truly appreciate Cathe's comment at the end of the lunges when she says, "That one almost took my breath away!" And of course my response was, "ALMOST?~PU-LEEEZ!"

Well .. there's been TONS of accomplishments thanks to Cathe!! But the one I'm MOST pumped about is that thanks to Cathe's tapes, for the first time ever in my life I can do straight legged push-ups .. TWO sets now!! :)

THANKS CATHE!! YOU ROCK!!

WAY TO GO Jillybean!!! LL is a major accomplishment! Sit n' stands are pure torture. You know you've hit a turning point in your training when you can make it through all those reps!!

My latest accomplishment is doing reverse flies in MIS with 8 lbs! I recently posted a survey where I said I could only do reverse flies with 5 lbs. Well, this morning I made it through both sets with 8 lbs with full range of motion. I'm quite happy with this! I can also do chest presses in S/H with my 15-lb dumbells... so thrilled about this! :)

Great thread!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-01-02 AT 04:07PM (Est)[p]Congratulations Ladies!

This is a great thread! Its nice to brag on the accomplishments to those who can relate! All the sweat and sorneness realy pays off.

At work 3 days ago I had on a long sleeve knit shirt. Someone came up to me and asked if I work out. The said they noticed a "cut & definition" in my arms. I was elated! The Slow and Heavy series is showing their affects.

Also...I run at the gym. I watch the classes offered. They are NO where near what Cathe puts out!!! Last night I watched a new instructor for kickbox. (I know these ladies are doing their BEST!) They are teaching how they were taught. I makes me realize what an OUTSTANDING teacher Cathe is!!! First rate, top quality!!

Since we are bragging...I have a secret desire to teach a class at the gym. After working out with Cathe and her crew, I really believe I could bring the classes up a notch or two.

I do have to interject here that I have NOT been to the 6, 7, 0r 8am classes at the gym. They could be incredible, I realy don't know. Have only observed the evening classes.

Hope to hear more bragging from others!

Hi ladies!
Congrats on your accomplishments! This post is a great idea, because although you can tell your dh, your friends, whomever, about your Cathe accomplishments, no one will understand quite as well as the "Cathe crowd" so who better to brag to?

OK, on to my brag(s).
1. I was recently able to complete MIC in its entirety with no modifications, and no struggle. I used to be stopping, modifying all over the place and practically killing myself - this tape was my nemesis. I attribute this to my attempts at Interval Max (lots of modifying going on there though - this one is my new nemesis. I see stars during the plyo moves!) Also, Power Max isn't hard enough for me anymore.

2. Last week during PS-CST I decided on a whim to try pushups on a decline like Cathe. To my amazement I completed both sets that way, without struggling! (So where do I go from here LOL?)

3. My son just turned 2 and my daughter just turned 1 and I am 5 pounds lighter than when I got pregnant with my son. Not bad since I am really not the cleanest eater. Woo-hoo!

Can't wait to hear more brags.

Doing Imax on a 8" step with NO modifications has to be the top one. Also doing MIC all the way through.

Circuit Max is a good one to brag about also.....that one I don't dare do with an 8" step (not MIC either). With them I go 6".

When I get my PT certification, I can't wait to teach classes and be an example of what someone my age (52)can do. If you are in good health, baby, there ain't NO excuses! Just do it.

Hey Neighbor!!!

How is your studying coming along??? Been thinking of you! And...to keep this post on topic, I can do IMax with an 8" step also, but I only hit the HALF-CENTURY mark this year! HB, you got me beat!! :7

I'm a quitter!

I actually QUIT doing MIC in it's entirety and do the warm up, the low impact and the step portion. Hi/lo is not a good way to cross train with my running but I love the step portion with the intensity of a million burning suns!

I have dropped 10 pounds since last summer without much effort by at last becoming consistant with weight training which used to "interfere" with my running. I run less but enjoy it more and look pretty good for an old lady of 39! I can't wait to go home for the summer visit to my mother and sibs in Michigan and show off the slimmer me! Most of my sisters are slim but they use questionable methods, like cigarettes and even diet pills!

I am the clean living poster child! I feel so good, it's disgusting!

After only two weeks on a S&H rotation, I've increased my push-ups from 2 sets of 5 or 6 push-ups to an amazing(for me anyways) 3 sets of 10 full push-ups!WOW! :7:7:7

Hey, I love reading brags...here's mine...
-I've always used an 8 inch step for all my videos. I've recently tried 10 inches for CTX and am finding it OK. I'm a little short to try it for longer than 30 minutes, though.

-I benched 75 pounds today at the gym for 3 sets of 10. Not bad for a little chick. I'm banking on pushing more weight next time.

-I curled 55 pounds for bi's for 3 sets of 10.

-I ran 5 miles the day after doing Leaner Legs in its entirety, (using a 35 pound barbell and 15 pound dumbbells.

I must say that the S&H series has increased my stength. I've been lifting so much heavier at the gym. I'd recommend S&H to anyone who wants to increase strength!

Whew!

I'm back! Just finished IMax!! Have you ever had a day when you accomplished a truly tough workout but felt sooo great during the cooldown? I actually caught myself grinning thinking to myself THAT was good & FUN!! It must have been those endorphines I released because it felt REALLY GOOD!!! Okay, enough bragging! :7

Wow, Amy! If you could hear me I just gave one of those long slow whistles that express how impressive that is!

DebbieH, I know exactly how you feel. After a really tough workout I glow and not just because I'm sweaty (although I am). It's so great to work out to maximum intensity and still feel energized and ready to face what the day holds!

Bobbi,
I read your posts and I wish we could run together. I haven't had a running partner since 1997. I had my sister running, but she's a backslider right now...you know, smoking, drinking. I pray for her every day.
You and everyone here are my heroes! Daily!
Amy

You ladies rock! Power Max being easy and doing Imax on an 8" step!?! I am in awe! I thought this thread would be fun, but now I also see that is inspiring! I really should buy S&H, shouldn't I? I can only do 10 push-ups and that's on my knees. LOL!

I feel the same way about you guys! These message boards are heavenly! I was just thinking I have got to challenge myself and increase the weights I use because I am awed by what you are lifting, Amy! It would be great to run with you! I am racing with my sister Mel tomorrow but she's so fast she leaves me in the dust! It's wonderful to feel a part of this fitness community Cathe has helped us to create. Whether it's a brag, a question or a problem, I know where to turn for great answers, support and comeraderie! I feel so blessed!

Bobbi,
Good luck in the race. I'd be right by your side, because I don't run fast, but I don't run too slow, either. I'm not a jackrabbit, but I'm not the tortoise either. As long as it's fun! Have a wonderful day and I'll be thinking of you both.

RE: Hey Neighbor!!!

I'm working on the home study part and waiting for a workshop date. I have overtime at work that I'm going to trade for time off for a weekend. I have 6-1/2 hours in the past 2 weeks, and it's not even Easter yet. Easter and Christmas are real busy times in a church! There will be four services between Thursday and Sunday of Easter week.

Hey, time for MARSHMALLOW PEEPS!!!!! My favorite time of the year.

RE: 55#'s!

Holy Moly! 55 pound for bis is unreal to me! No matter how strong I get, my biceps just don't get any stronger...oh, well :)
Amy, just be careful on that 10 inch step. I know this is controversial, but I also remember Cathe posting that the benefits you may gain using 10 inches are outweighed by the risk of injury.
Anyway, I am inspired by your "brags"!
Wendy

RE: What the heck - I'm in too

I guess if you can't brag here, where can you right?

Once, after seeing a picture of Mia Finnegan in a turtleneck, I thought to myself, I want visible definition when wearing a long sleeved turtleneck too. Well, I put one on last night and Wow, no problem checking out those biceps, triceps, shoulders, etc. I was a happy camper when I noticed that. Sleevless definition is one thing but with a long sleeved sweater, YES!

Beating many men, including lots of buff 20 to 30 years olds, and one's very in shape boss (who is 40 - I am 38 soon to be 39) in a triathlon when you never bothered swimming or biking once, ranks up there as one of my special brags.

Thanks for asking.

Kim
