Bought a DVD...questions about switching from videos to DVD

Okay, we did it...we bought a DVD this weekend. Now, my tape shipment is on its way but hasn't arrived yet. I bought (in VHS) upper/lower pyramid, ab hits, wedding video & step heat. I contacted customer service to see if I could return the shipment unopened. Haven't heard back yet. If they say okay, is it worth it to switch to the DVDs? I suppose it would mean upper/lower pyramid on DVD, ab hits DVD & classics 1 (which wouldn't include the wedding video but would include step heat). (For those that don't remember, I'm a newby to Cathe so classics would be what I want now.) It would mean about $30/$35 more than I first spent, BUT I would actually get more for that money. Any input?

It is definitely worth it to switch to dvds. You can mix and match and do so much stuff with them.(not to mention you dont have to rewind);-) imho you would get more for your money w/ the dvds.:)

RE: Bought a DVD...questions about switching from video...

That's right!!

Even if you didn't get the programmable one.

Enjoy your DVDs.

Laura:)

Yes, DVD's are DEFINITELY worth the extra expense. I like to make the analogy of video to DVD being like cassettes to CD's. How long have your cassettes lasted without some kind of degradation? How long have your CD's lasted? How about the difference in sound quality? The ability to jump around from one track ("chapters" in DVD terms)on CD's. I rest my case!

In addition, Cathe's DVD's just keep getting better and better in terms of chaptering and options. Some of her workouts (PH, Cardio Kicks, Circuit Max) are rather minimally chaptered (but still worth owning in DVD format), while others have wonderful chaptering that allows you to change the order of your workout if you wish.

The Intensity series DVD's go several steps beyond in offering both wonderful premixes (for example, PUB pyramid up only or pyramid down only) as well as a combo workout combining elements from both workouts that are on the DVD (A PLB/PUB total body workout). The only exception to this is the IMAX2/ME DVD, which DOES have premixes, but doesn't offer a combo workout.

Yes, get the DVDs... so much better. You won't regret it. It will help you tremendously at the learning curve with the classics! Enjoy!

Yes, get the DVD's - you won't be sorry. Plus if you want to skip a section you don't have to wait to fast forward, etc. I don't have a programmable player in my fitness room...but still can easily swap out DVD's 10 times faster than if I was mixing and matching tapes. In addition, with all the premixes Cathe offers, you have additional choices available that you don't get with the VHS. Believe me, you can't go wrong with this.

The Terminator DVD was my first DVD - and I loved it. It's neat to just being able to pick and choose what you want to do. I then bought the Bootcamp and IMax2 DVDs (I bought the VHS 6pack) and now I wish, I had everything on DVD. While doing the IMax 2, 1st 5 Interval routine, I was thinking: The S&H Shoulders workout would be just great as an add-on. - I didn't do it because it was too troublesome to pick the shoulder work from the VHS.

Eventually, I'll buy all of Cathe's workouts on DVDs because of the pick and choose option.

All my future pre-orders will be placed with DVDs because I know, Cathe will continue with the pre-mixes and bonus combos. The options are unlimited!!!!!

I don't have a programmable DVD player either and it's worth it (at least I don't know, if mine is programmable and I don't care). Cathe is making it easy.

Yes!

Definitely go with DVD's! They are great! I have a programable player but haven't figured out how to program it yet! :p Like Jo said, even without programing them, it is sooo fast to jump around. That is why I haven't taken the time to sit down and figure it all out. Have fun!
