Boot Camp

I'm not too crazy about this workout. I've had it since May and I remember the first time I did it I wasn't too crazy about it but decided that I wasn't giving it my all. After that I started enjoying it a little more.

I haven't done it in a few months so when I was looking for something different to do tonight I popped it in. I finished it, but I felt very disappointed. I gave it my all. I just didn't feel there was enough upper body work in there. Maybe I should have tacked on another set of UB at the end?

I think I'm more disappointed in myself because I had Drill Max in my rotation for tonight and switched it to Boot Camp! ARHG...x(

Oh well, I guess it's all about variety right?

Have a good one!

I'm not a major fan of Boot Camp either, but I do like the Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance Combo on the DVD. It has more weight training and less cardio, but it's a nice blend.

Diane

I think I've tried that combo, Diane. I might have to check that out again.

I do have some decent DOMS in my legs today, so even though I didn't feel like I got a good workout, I must have. Maybe I'll try it again and tack on some extra UB from ME.

:)

Edited to add: Oh, and my obliques are killing me! I guess this workout isn't so bad after all!!! ;)

Hmmm...I don't like it either. But, I really like the Bootcamp premix on BodyMax 2. That was quite challenging to say the least.

I'm doing the August 05 Rotation - and yesterday was Boot Camp TWICE!!!}( I am so sore today! It would be nice if it had a little more upper body:7

I have issues with it as well. I think it's because I feel like I'm lying down suddenly and then standing up suddenly to move to cardio. I guess I don't like the drastic altitude changes. There are some premixes on there (as stated above) that might make it more bearable. I know next time, I'm trying the 'everything but core' version to see if it's any better for me.:)

This is one thing I don't like about this workout. I have low blood pressure, and going from lying on the floor to standing can even make me a bit light headed.

I 'solved' this problem by doing the "all but core" premix, followed by the "core only" premix (which not only gets rid of the 'up/down' problem, but may make the moves more intense, because there is less break between working each of the segments, and core is all done at once).

I hope that if Cathe ever makes another Bootcamp workout, she'll do standing core work in the first part, and save all the floor work until the end.

I agree with Divagirl: the Bootcamp premix on BMax2 is a great workout.

I agree with Kathryn. I saw she suggested that elsewhere on the forums and tried it myself. I now only do BC using the all but core premix and tack on the abs at the end :)

Deanie

I am going to have to try to BC all but core premix. Maybe that's the problem, the getting up and down.

I also love the BM2 Boot Camp premix!

Oh dear, I just received Bootcamp from Collage. I'm wondering if I need to send it back and exchange it for KPC? I can only keep one.

Cheryl

I LOVE boot camp! It's one of my all time favorites. I feel like I get a complete workout and I've seen results with this one too:) .

I wouldn't send it back for KPC. They are totally different. I think you should give BC a try. It is great and so are the premixes. While I think both workouts are hard, I feel a different sort of wiped out after each. Melissa

Thanks for the reply and I will give Bootcamp another shot. I did enjoy Muscle Endurance. KPC sounds like a great workout but I really don't need an all leg workout as my legs tend to bulk up to easily.

Cheryl

I never really did this one that much either because there wasn't enough cardio to use it for a cardio day and not enough weights for a weight day. I wanted to do a little extra on a strength day so I popped this in and discovered the Bonus at the bottom of the menu. It was just what I was looking for! It mixes Bootcamp and ME and is great for my strength day and has just enough cardio to make me sweat. I really am enjoying it.

BC is a fun workout for me. I like it cause it's challenging and there are men in this workout. The terminators are always my goal especially the second round.
