Bodymax still humbles me

Is it just me? I decided to pull out Bodymax today since I pre-ordered Bodymax2 and haven't done Bodymax in ages.

I got this one years ago, when I wasn't as in shape as I am today. I remember it was tough. Granted, I could only do it in pieces back then.

I haven't done it in a long time because I've been using most of her newer workouts. I also can get through most of the advanced workouts, with some modifications and I thought my Cardio endurance was pretty good, considering I've been cross training with Cardio Coach workouts.

BUT - yet again, it humbled me. I made it through the first section and my heart rate was at 85% I was sweaty.:) I started section two and by the second to last combo, I was cursing at Cathe (polite curses) and I just kind of walked through the last one.

I took a 10 min rest before finishing the strength workout. My abs were on fire and I have strong abs.

Is it just me? Why is this workout so hard? Is it because my body just got used to interval training with the rests inbetween work? I could not go heavy for the strength work and just laughed at Cathe when she said we should be using heavy weights for the first chest exercise.


It is going back into my regular rotation because I guess I need to work on cardio endurance.:eek:
 
I am doing this workout on Sunday. Yes, it is an overall 90 minute shock to the body workout. I go back to this one on a regular basis because IT WORKS. I can see why it is in the Video Hall of Fame, yes, it does humble us all!!

Heh heh heh - I had the same experience a few weeks back. With the preordering and Body Max talk, I thought I would dust if off and give it a try! Well, it whipped my puhtooty but good! So you're not alone! :)

I found after doing the August rotation that Bodymax had become "not hard". I'm not saying it was easy but a lot easier. Before I would be tempted to skip the weights for the last few body parts but this time I had energy to the end and increased the weights for every body part.

I'm really looking forward to BodyMax 2!
 
Body Max is one of my absolute favorites - probably because it does kick my butt! I finish and I feel 100% completely worked out. I'm really looking forward to when my rotations rotate back to the more endurance workouts. Right now I'm doing 1 body part a day. Two more weeks and I'll switch to endurance for three weeks. I get to do Body Max again! I absolutely love it.
 
I still find it really challenging, you are not alone. Have you ever done Maximum Intensity Cardio. That one kills me!!!
 
MIC kills me too. I only do that one in pieces.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I think that Cathe's workouts that were filmed before the Intensity series are the toughest out there.

I love the Intensity series too, but for some reason, C&W is challenging but a lot easier than Circuit Max.

I don't have IMAX1 just Imax2 but I bet it's tougher.

I have a feeling these new four workouts are going to be tough and I am going to put back all my older workouts in my rotation just to condition myself.

I don't think I could do the August rotation. Just looking at scares me.:)
