Body Max (again !)

Hi All,

Had another thought about Body max, I know that it is part cardio and part strength, but what I am wondering is, if one was to do the whole of the workout on Monday (for example), would you still have to leave off strength work until the Wednesday ? And do, say a low impact cardio workout on Tuesday ?

I'd say yes, if you did Body Max in its entirety I would definitely do either low impact cardio, kickboxing or take a rest day the following day leaving strength for 48 hrs after your Body Max workout at the earliest.

When I do BodyMax,I usually do Cardio the next day.But sometimes I do a leg tape b/c BodyMax is more of a endurance tape.Now, I wouldn't do upper body again the next day b/c you have time to be lifting some pretty heavy weights and you work every muscle group in a different way.
But with the leg work,I don't lift has heavy as I would if I weren't doing cadio b/c my legs get pretty weak.And my legs are never sore the next day.I don't feel that there is enough leg work in it to considerate a leg workout.Or not when you have been at BodyMax for as long as I have.It was my first Cathe tape, so you can only imagine how many times I have done it.

I know that BodyMax is tough and long, but for some reason the recovery time for me is quick and I don't feel that I need to take a day off the weights as I would with MIS. I think it's because BM is fast and is focus more on endurance than heavy lifting. I also think it depends on your level of fitness too. I know I am fit enough to do a circuit max or PH or MIS, but I usually prefer something like RS because it's fast and don't use equipment (can't be asked to drag them all out every day).

Hi Anna,

I do cardio only the day after Bodymax because I do still go fairly heavy with weight for the leg circuits (45#bb and 15#db), so I consider it a weight workout and to do legs again the next day wouldn't allow for recovery. I also go heavy for the upper body, so doing any upper body weight work is out the following day as well. I try to mix up my impact, and crosstrain, so since BodyMax is step, I probably do either kickboxing or a hi/lo video the following day.
