Body for Life ?

Hi,

I am starting the BFL. I have a question for anyone seasoned in this area.

On weight days should I do a full body workout (power hour, muscle max etc) or should I work one to two body parts using gym style, pyramid, slow/heavy.

I just did low max 1-4 with warm up and cool down. I haven't worked out in a month due to an injury. I about fainted at the end.

Thanks,

Dawn

Hi Dawn,
I think BFL is a wonderful program. When I was doing BFL I used the Pyrmaids system, it is the most similar to the book. But if you don't have them you could use the GS workouts,I wouldn't do a full body workout.

I would do the book workouts for the first 12 weeks. See what kind of results you get and then if you want go back to videos. I don't have anything after the Pyramids. But what I do now is 4 weeks book, 4 weeks S&H and 4 weeks pyramids. You want to do 3 days of cardio and 3 days of weights. Weights: one week UB, LB, UB and LB, UB, LB the next week.

I too would follow the book for at least 8 weeks. I didn't think it would be enough of a workout, but I lost many inches in 8 weeks following the plan. The only thing I changed was I didn't wait 1 full minute between sets, probably only 30-40 secs. I liked the weight program because it helped me to develop my own routine rather than needind a video all the time. Melissa
