LAST EDITED ON Feb-11-02 AT 11:48AM (Est)[p]I have read this book, as a matter of fact, I am starting a 12 week Challenge today. The book has alot of interesting info in it. Even if you don't follow the program, it has alot of helpful hints. I did a Challenge 2 years ago, and I went down to 19% bodyfat. It is a good program. I listened to what some people said on LeanandStrong.com, and I actually gained weight. I gave it up for awhile, and now I am going back. If you try the program, my best advice to you is, keep it simple and go with the palm/fist method Bill talks about. Don't try to measure your protein/carb grams at every meal. Check out L&S.com, many people on that website follow this or BodyRX. The Transformation Gallery is full of success stories. I am doing my Challenge rotating Cathe workouts.

I got it a few years ago. It has nutrition info- I think you're supposed to eat small, balanced meals a lot. He advocates using protein shakes and stuff his company makes. It was a typical clean diet.

As for fitness, he says to do 3x, 20 min cardio sessions a week using his intensity formula. He also lists weight exercises to do also using this intensity thing. Exercise and food logs are included.

The book is informative and sound, but you have to want to do it (eat clean especially) to get results. (Of course, you could just read it for tips). So if you're not ready to change yet, it's not going to make you change. But it would be motivating if you want to do it. I've found that I'm just not ready to eat super healthy yet, and I didn't like his 3x, 20min workouts cause I love Cathe tapes and spinning and you can't really match these to his special intensity training thing (same with Cathe's weight tapes). It might be nice for a change though- say if you liked to run or do cardio machines so you could do 20 mins only.
Good luck!

Thanks for the info folks, I know that I for sure need to clean up my eating, maybe this could help, couldnt hurt right?? Thanks again. Judy

Some of us at the Firm have just started BFL this week, our angle is slightly different than the book, we are just doing the eating plan. Meaning we are substituting tapes that we normally use for the BFL exercise plan. For example today I did the step segment from Maximum Intensity, tomorrow I am doing the Firm Standing legs.

You are welcome to join us on our journey. We check in every Monday in the challenge and rotation section. It is week one and it is not too late to join us.

BTW I am fitkansaschick at the Firm http://www.debsgifs.com/random1/gifs2/runner1.gif
