Body-face disconnect & make-up

Get a peel!! Even gentle one from an estheticians office will be great!

I use brozer and soft colors to make myself look more youthful.

Creststrips teeth whitener, bronzer, and a soft pink gloss, concealer under my eyes pep me right up!

I was a makeup artist by trade before the kiddos, and I could always sell those products because they work!

Thanks, pink. I've done 5 days of the Rembrandt white strips and have 2 days to go. My teeth aren't responding as quickly as they usually do. It may be time for dental trays again.

Nancy, after years of using the gel whitener with dental trays I discovered something....

I had been using 10 to 15% strength, keeping the trays in over night sometimes.... which as you can imagine was uncomfortable and a pain in the rear. My hygienist convinced me to try the 35% gel, but leave them in only 20-25 minutes at a time. I was a bit scared to try that strength because my teeth have sensitivity issues, especially when using the whitening gel.

Well, the 35% works great! I use the gel about once a week for 20 minutes and it keeps my teeth consistently white. When I was using the lesser strength, I would have to use the gel for longer times and for about a week straight. Now, 20 minutes once a week or even once every 10 days or so, keeps them nice and white.

Warning: If you do go to the higher concentration gel, be careful not to get it on your gums. It will burn them and that's painful!

Thanks for the tip, JM. My teeth have shifted and I would have to have new trays made now if I wanted to go that route. Funny you should mention gums though, I burned my gums on the Rembrandt strips the other day and it hurt a lot. And my gums turned snow white! Fortunately, it wore off.

Usually the Rembrandt strips work pretty well, and they're just about $30, and take only 30 minutes per day. Maybe I'm just drinking too much coffee (what else is new?). I prefer them to the other strips because they stay on much better.

Ahh.... yes, having new trays made isn't very economical. I remember paying a few hundred dollars for mine when I first had them made about 10 years ago.

I'm glad the Rembrandt strips work for you! I am a coffee drinker too, and a tea drinker (iced tea). At least I use a straw for my tea, but of course not for my coffee. But I can't give up coffee!

Yup, I think the trays cost about $500 or so. No way I would ever give up my java either!

True, it is very expensive but it lasts quite awhile. I don't use her other skin care products. I use O of O for a moisturizer and that's it. I've spent big bucks and tried other skin care products over the years and really can't tell the difference when I use them so I don't. I do have a Retin A prescription that I use occasionally but I'm not consistent with that either. Good luck in your search. Let us know what you come up with.

I wound up buying out the LM counter. This time I got a really good make-up artist at the LM counter, and I was sold on the really natural look of it. I walked out wearing about 20 products, but just looked softer, a bit younger and more radiant, I thought. My lines were still there, but they kind of faded into the background. The lips were just a light, peachy nude, and the eyes were the highlight. She used this "Secret Brightener" which is a light colored kind of pencil like Kathryn mentioned. She filled in the lines around my mouth with it, and used some in the corners of my eyes. I was very satisfied, but now the trick is to do it myself at home!

Twenty products? Wow! You loaded up girl. :D At least you were happy with the results and that means alot. I'll have to look into the secret brightener. I would have never thought to use it in the lines around my mouth. I've never been too creative with my makeup.
