Body Blast Dvd

Cathlete
Hi,

Just wondering for all of us out there that pre-ordered the dvd series
in the summer... and still waiting on the Dvd's, will there be any kind of extra incentive gifts included with our orders for the extra long wait we endured...
say like a nice Cathe mug or something?:)

How about "hand packed by Cathe!"????? Or there's always the polystyrene chips that come in the box: they can be lots of fun (for your kids, especially if they spill them all over the basement like mine did the other day)!

Come on guys, we can wait a leetle bit longer, can't we?

Patience is a virtue my Mum always said. :)

Clare

The incentives included in the pre-ordering of the DVDs are:

a. a cheaper price (and a great deal, if you ask me)
b. the several volumn/sound features SNM has offered us
c. the 20+ premixes per disc
d. the Workout Blender
e. never having to do a workout as is if you don't want to (since there are so many chapter points/premixes)
f. never having to rewind a workout once you're done with it
g. the anticipation

It has been a long wait, but well worth it!!!:)

While I appreciate all of the feed back to a rather simple question
addressed to Cathe/Snm! I am past my excitement in waiting and wanting the much anticapated Body Blast Dvd's...
therefore when I am expecting something to arrive in September and here I am at the end of November and still nothing in hand, I have a right to ask a question? It really annoys me when your unable to express yourself on these forums for fear of being chastised by the Lord's of the Catheites. IM still asking the same question I posed earlier, this is no different than anyone of you going to a store or website ordering merchandise and not receiving such when promised...
If a manufacturer i.e. person or entity can't deliver the products you payed for within a timely fashion (and this is by no means timely fashion) then you have a right to ask for either a refund or some type of provisional, it's called good customer relations. I love Cathe's workout's but Business is Business! Cathe/Snm may or may not honor a request such as this, but there was certainly no harm in asking and no harm intended. Had this been another corporation that I had made similar purchases from I would have asked the same thing. It's my right as a consumer. So my point is, if anyone of you are offended by my question... keep it moving and go find another topic that is more to your liking. I am not apologizing for inquiring.
No Fear Here!:9

Tjaded, of course, it's your right as a consumer and we are all dying to hear but I think at this point we have resigned ourselves that the next announcement will be that the DVD's have arrived at SNM and we can't get it until they do.

But I realize your frustration and I, for one, promise not to pop in a reply unless it's specifically pointed to Cathe AND the gang. This is after all the Ask Cathe Forum!

In the meantime, hang in there! Cathe's November 19th post http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=2&topic_id=30054&mesg_id=30054&page=
said "next week" so a full week gives us the Big Announcement by the 26th!

Hi Tjaded,

There is no harm asking, but what you're asking for is not practical as it would take us at least a month to order and receive enough mugs for all of our presale orders....not to mention the cost and shipping problems (mugs are breakable).

We certainly understand that many people are frustrated awaiting the arrival of the new DVDs, but a few things you should consider:

#1 We never promised that DVDs would be ready by the end of the summer. Here is exactly what we said:

"Estimated Shipping Date:
It is really difficult to give you exact or accurate shipping date at this time. The new workouts are being filmed this summer. We're going to do our best to ship your order by the end of summer; however, we can not make any promises. As always, we will keep you updated regularly on our website."

We followed this up with threads and replies on this forum saying that videos would be ready first followed soon thereafter by the DVDs and we have kept you informed with numerous updates.

#2 We have added many features to these DVDs that we did not advertise or promise at the beginning of the presale. We could have easily just chaptered the DVDs like nearly every other company does and we would have been done with DVDs in October and saved a ton of money! Instead we like to push the envelope and raise the bar on our DVD productions. Premixes just don't happen by magic, they take weeks of hard work and cost anywhere from $175 to $400 per hour to make. These DVDs took nearly two months to author, so you can at least get an idea of the costs involved.

#3 You can always cancel your presale order and we will promptly refund your money. We’re as anxious as everyone else is to get the new DVDs. This is our busiest time of year and we lose money everyday of the Holiday season we miss. But this is also the busiest time of year for our vendors and duplicators and this means things take longer. Rest assured we have worked as hard as possible to get the Body Blast DVDs completed and in your hands, but if you’re finding the wait to stressful you can simply just cancel and reorder in the future when the DVDs are in stock.

Although SNM's hard work is appreciated by everyone, the time value of money must be observed. SNM has already charged credit cards so cash has been in SNM's hands for around 6 months. SNM has essentially an interest free loan on those pre-sale dollars. Considering the time value of money and the interest on the cash the extra dollars spent should be more than recovered.
This comment is not a slam but just an observation.

While a mug would be out of the question because of shipping costs (also, maybe not all DVDers want a mug), I think something like a $5 gift certificate for a future purchase of $50 or more would certainly go a long way towards easing some of the frustration that DVD waiters (myself included) may be feeling about the long wait (and the fact that S&M has had our money since May!).

Perhaps in the future, presales should start a little farther along in the process, thus making the expected delivery date a bit more certain (though not 100%). Or perhaps charging just part of the amount at the time of the order, and the rest upon delivery.

Just a couple of suggestions for S&M and Cathe. Take it or leave it (as Cathe likes to say!).

Hi,
That's an even better suggestion! I Luv it!
That would certainly make the long awaited Dvd's
less painless. I was frustrated with the whole wait thing
long before I decided to ask the question but as we are
nearing Christmas already and all the others had their videos
in hand I must say this made the wait a wee bit to much to bear.
I will not ever order 1 set of vhs tapes and a set of the dvd's
to tie me over, it's never going to be in my budget and it isn't
a practical solution for me!
So how about SNM/CATHE... $5.00 coupons towards the next new Cathe
DVD'S?:D

I think the time value of money is still significantly less than our discount. I ordered on the first day of the presale and paid $135.99 including shipping. The full retail is now $205.96, including shipping. This means I saved about $70 dollars. Had I put my $136 in the bank back in May, I would have had to have earned a rate of 87% to have earned that same $70. So, Cathe's presale, even 7 months after I made my payment, has been a screaming investment. I don't know any investments paying 87%.

Sorry, but the banker in me couldn't help but respond.

SNM,

I just have to say that I love Cathe and her workouts but I am unhappy with what is going on here. You say that there was no promise that the workouts would be shipped by the end of summer. I can understand that. Of course you cannot know for sure. But, come on, it is December, and still no DVDs. I don't want a mug, I don't want a $5 certificate and I don't want my money back. I just want you to know that I am extremely disappointed in this process and I feel like instead of apologizing sincerely for this delay you are trying to make excuses for it. Sorry if this offends anyone. That is certainly not my intention.

Have a good day!

Kristie
