Bob Harper new dvds?

Their website is so annoying, it will not let me order no matter what I do. It keeps saying access denied. First I didn't want these dvds and now that I do I can't order them. Linda

I hear you.

My DH just bought me STS for my B'day which I start tmrw but I still had no trouble justifying the Bob Harper purchase! It was a deal that was too good to turn down! :D

Can't beat the price. I just started STS, and I have been adding STS Cardio (in addition to Insanity and running), but these look really good. I like the sound of his Yoga and adding weights. But I am always open to trying new things, especially challenging ones. I will wait a couple days to hear comments and then probably purchase....I have a serious problem, I think I buy at least one new workout a week, UGH!!!

These look great! For those that already got them, please give a review. I'm eager to hear about how you like them.

I can't order or contact them. I have never had so much trouble ordering something and I'm an on-line shopaholic:eek: !!! Linda

Ordering them was a giant pain for me too, I ended up going to a new computer and was able to order them on there. My only advice, first, don't hit the button to Submit under the coupon code, hit the "checkout" button, the submit button is only for the coupon. After hitting checkout, I think I filled in the personal info first, then submit, then I went to paypal. This website seriously is just terrible, I mean basic online ordering sites are a dime a dozen these days, and so easy to implement, there is no need to hire such a crappy service to set one up. I think Bob needs to consult with Jillian on some online website tips, lol :p

Linda, I also contacted them, still no answer:( At first, I thought it wouldn't take my APO address (military) I guess, I have to wait, until I get an email! I never had a problem like this either. I couldn't find a phone# either:eek: Belinda

I never hit the coupon submit button, just the checkout button. First I tried to pay with paypal and that automatically put all my info in, then it went back to their website and said to press that final submit button and that's when it says access denied. Now it won't let me get beyond my address to put in a credit card. I'm sure they have had complaints, you would think they would have fixed it by now. Thanks anyway.:) BTW cute avatar!! Linda

Let me know if you hear anything from them. Do you know when Target will have them? We might have to wait for that. Linda

Ok, I finally did it. First off, you have to wait several hours since your last failed attempt, then add dvds to cart, then hit the checkout, don't choose the paypal option on the next page, put your own info in, then at the end when it wants payment info you can then choose paypal if you want. Hope this makes sense. Good luck. Linda

One possible caveat about ordering from Bob Harper's site: there was some chatter over on the VF forum that, shortly after customers succeeded in getting their orders through, they started getting suspicious, possibly phishing calls from entities purporting to "verify their order information", and attempting to get their entire credit card # or Paypal account information. I posted an inquiry about this on Harper's Facebook page and never got a direct response. Hopefully this was a hacking problem that is now solved; I'd hate to think that his website actually sells its customer information to a third-party phisher!

I pre-ordered and I saw the chatter and I haven't had any problems, fwiw. I did the Strength one this morning -- it was tough. I sort of thought about it as a hard version of Jillian's NMTZ, though that's not quite the feel it had. I did feel it was a little light on back and chest work, and heavy on shoulders. He aims to keep your heart rate up pretty constantly, and it is for the most part. My hrm said I burned 415 calories.

I have previewed the other workouts (there are multiple workouts on each dvd) and they all look great, though they use kettlebells and the form is bad. Actually, there was some pretty if-y form in the strength workout as they fatigued.

No matter what I try, I can't place my order:mad: I tried a different computer, credit card/pal pal, you name it! Even my DH is frustrated with Bob's website! I contacted Bob on Frieday, still no answer:confused::confused: Very frustrating!

I'm really sorry Belinda. I had trouble at first but just exiting the site and going back to it solved the problem for me. The VF discussion had some tips too if you haven't seen that already. I also had initially emailed customer support and it took over a week to hear back from them - by that time I had figured out how to order.

I received the DVD's last week and looked at all but the Yoga workouts and have done 3 of the workouts as well.

There are 4 DVD's in the set and the descriptions on the site and DVD case don't exactly match the actual workouts IMO. Here are my thoughts...

Pure Burn/Super Strength. "Workout 1 - One hour of full-out performance that will take your body to the limit. Challenge yourself & get rewarded." I did this workout. It is actually just over 65 minutes and has a very strong cardio element. The first 20 minutes are very heart pounding as you move from burbee type moves to overhead presses. This is a very hard workout.

"Workout 2 - A 25 minute beginner workout to get you started. Bob will show you the steps, but you have to take them." This workout is 20 minutes long and you go through most of the weight exercises you do on the hour-long DVD without the added intensifiers and variations. It's a solid beginner 20 minute workout but there is a HUGE difference between this workout and the longer one. I wish there were an intermediate spot. One thought I had was to do the beginner workout twice through if you are working your way up to the longer strength workout.

Cardio Conditioning: "Workout 1 - An intense hour of explosive, heart rate accelerating cardio. Try to keep up with Bob and his team as they push you harder and faster than you thought you could go." I watched this one but have not done it. It looks very hard and there are light weights used in much of the workout. It looked like a circuit type workout rather than pure cardio.

"Workout 2 - 25 minutes of turbo charged body shaping cardio that allows you to target trouble spots when time is limited. " I did this workout. It is not a cardio workout. It is balance and strength moves primarily for the lower body with some upper body work included. On the DVD menu it is called Butt and Balance which I think is an accurate description.

Yoga for the Warrior I haven't watched yet.

Bob's Workout - I only watched these. "Workout 1 - 30 minutes of Extreme core based upper body training, with Bob constantly turning up the heat. You’ve trained with Bob, now train like him-if you can!" This is not right at all, the second workout is actually the upper body workout but it includes a lot of total body and core moves. This workout is more total body circuit and the woman looks like she's going to die at the end. It is Bob working one on one and putting her through the workout. It includes some kb swings, light weights, cardio drills.

Workout 2 - "30 minutes of Advanced core based lower body training, with Bob introducing his toughest routines yet. Go harder and get your hardest body possible!" This is actually the upper body workout. It includes a lot of general boot camp/circuit drills but also has a series of just upper body isolation work (i.e. chest press, shoulder raises). Again the exerciser looked like he would collapse by the end. Bob says he does the two 30 minute workouts together as his hour long program.

So, how do you rate this workout from 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest. Can you also provide some feedbacks in comparison to Cathe's and other instructors?

Thanks.

I think they are worth buying, but with some caveats. The exercisers can be annoying with their, IMO, overacting about how tough it is. It is tough, but if you've been doing Cathe, you will get through it and you won't have to double over and stuff the way they do. In fact, I did Bob's Workout #2 this morning (along with the Butt and Balance workout, as someone suggested). Well, just as Bob's saying he's keeping up your heart rate, the guy is standing there not doing anything, just sucking wind. I had to add in some moves to try to keep my heart rate up. I did more reps than he did on a bunch of things. But, with that, yes, it was pretty tough. I think workout #1 looks harder, but we'll see. I liked Butt & Balance, but as a previous poster said, it's not cardio. Together, they were a pretty good total body with some cardio factor from Bob's workout #2. I've also done the Strength workout and that was definitely tough -- really kept moving -- and I did have soreness the next day.

I have previewed the yoga and I think it looks great -- it is definitely a workout, not a stretch (I prefer that type of yoga). So, given all the workouts included, this does seem a pretty good value if you can put up with those background exercisers and Bob sometimes being a little obnoxious to them.

Thanks! I love that pic of my kitties. When I first tried ordering, I also did paypal first, then got the denied, then no matter what I did, I always got access denied. When I went to the new pc, I entered my info first, then went to paypal and it went right through. They seem to have some terrible problem with the cookies on the site, so if it gets messed up once, the problem won't clear up.

I agree - I did the hour long strength workout and thought it was as tough as any Cathe workout.

Yesterday I did the beginner strength workout and Butt and Balance together and it was an intermediate level workout.

Of the two "Bob" workouts - the first one with the grunting woman looks very challenging. The hour long cardio also looks very challenging.

I think the workouts are worth the price which I felt was a pretty good deal, but they're not over-the-top great. I agree with the others who said the Butt and Balance workout is NOT cardio despite the description on the case. It's light weights with higher reps that give you a moderate cardio effect.
