Blender vs Food Processor vs Bullet

I want to start making my own protein bars but everything calls for mixing dates in a food processor. I don't have one and don't really have the money to go out and buy one. Can I use my blender or bullet to get the same result?

I would not want to mix dates in my blender...I think it would be a mess and difficult to extract. I have my old food processor, which I should say I have had for 20 years...totally worth it. I am wondering if your bullet might be the way to go?

I would say you need a food processor. I agree about the blender and the bullet really needs a liquid added to the contents.

This is definitely a project for a food processor and not a blender or bullet. The dates just get stuck and gunk up the blades of a blender (without adding extra liquid, which would turn it into more like a date smoothie). You won't get the consistency you want for your bars. At least that's my experience.

Agree with all the other responses. To make bars using dates, you need a food processor. Each appliance has its place in your kitchen arsenal. ;) I have several food processors - different sizes and strengths for different jobs. You can pick up a decent food processor for a reasonable price. If you are interested in making more of your own foodstuffs, I would recommend investing in one. :)
