Good Morning ladies~

I only have a quick second to check in- its a beautiful day here and I'm taking the kids to the park before the baby naps.

I found my rotation doesn't leave a lot of room for time off which was a problem since Wed my chest/back were still a little sore and I had sprained my ankle (stupid story) so I took Wed off. Yesterday was MIC and Supersets and today will be Bootcamp and Power Hour if I can sqeeze it in. CinDee, how's your training going? Another week closer to the bathing suit!

Pinky, you're leaving this weekend?

Judy, nice to have you back- hope you had a great time!

Egg whites... I eat at least 4-6 hard boiled eggs w/out the yolk a day and they give a nice protein boost. I make a huge batch and just keep them in the fridge and grab a few before a workout.

Shywolf, I've found lowrise jeans are the answer- they compliment my waist and hips more and I don't have those extra inches that stick out around my waist (which I hate! Don't they know many women are built with smaller waist, larger hips??) Guess and Seven have a really good pair that fit nicely- I do have to be careful bending over so everyone isn't seeing my skivvies which is annoying.

Hope everyone is doing well- I'll check in later today.

Brenda

Sabine- you really hit the nail on the head w/the body image post. I think so many of us feel that way and it may be because we work out and see improvements, but we also see our flaws so easily and what still needs "fixing"-

I read a great article about "why we aren't all fitness models" on the Roadmap to a Lean 2004 website which actually made me feel better about myself. It discussed that fitness models only look that good for a few weeks a year because its almost impossible to look in competition shape all the time (not to mention lighting, makeup, airbrushing, etc).

I'll try to find it and post it later...

Hello to everyone!

Yeah Friday is here!! :) I'm debating whether to go to the gym tonight and just do the treadmil and elliptical machines (these hurt my quads too much). I'm going tomorrow to step class and I think I'll take Sunday as my day off. I ate my egg and two pieces of 100% wheat toast with ff cheese and 1/2 glass of OJ for breakfast this morning. I'll see how hungry I get by 10am. So you guys are basically saying that eating eggs everyday is a good thing?
I never thought I'd wear the low rise jeans because I hated how they bulged out in the back when I sat down plus it doesn't help having the poochy belly. But I found a pair of Levi's 515 Stretch Bootcut Lowrise that I absolutely LOVE! I want to get another pair but not only are they kind of pricey but I have a hard time finding a 10 petite. I am only 5ft and they do make me look slimmer (I think) and my husband likes the way my butt looks in them :) . Well, I probably won't check in much this weekend. So everyone have a great weekend.

Hi everyone,

Brenda, I'm leaving with my son on Monday, the 29th. We'll fly from Dallas to LA, where we'll meet my brother and sister-in-law who are currently visiting. We have a 4-hour lay-over there, after which we'll be flying to HongKong. This is the longest leg of the trip (16 hours) and I have no idea how to keep my boy occupied for that long. We'll be in HongKong for only an hour before we fly home to Cebu. This flight will be more or less as long as the one from Dallas to LA, so it won't be that bad, and my son is used to 4-hour trips after our constant drives to Houston.

Kim, do you have a Kohl's in your area? I always find good clothes for petites there. Not sure if they carry Levi's though.

Today is upper body weighted work for me. Can't decide between PS or CTX-UB. I'll see how much time I have this afternoon.

Later,
Pinky

Just got back from our walk- the weather is incredible right now! I'm going to get my workout over with right now while the baby sleeps.

Pinky, I have no idea what you do for 16 hours. There's only far that crayons, stickers, puzzles can get you- I know he's young but would he be interested in something like a GameBoy that he can play? There may be something like it (some gameplayer for jr's) that might keep him occupied for a while)... what are you going to do for the trip??

Kim, its basically the egg yolks that have the fat and cholesterol so yup, you can eat egg whites all the time if you don't get sick of them! Have you tried the internet to find your jeans? I hate it when I find something I really like and can't find it again... it may be worth the price to buy another pair- jeans you feel slim in- priceless.

Have a good weekend everyone- I may not be around much so Pinky, have a SAFE & FUN trip!! We'll miss you here- will you be able to check in every now and then? Will your DH be able to make it over at any time?

Brenda

Happy Friday all,

Although the rain has stopped for the time being, the sun is having a hard time peaking through and it's gotten quite cool. To think that last week at this time it felt like summertime.

This morning's workout was Boot Camp. I liked this workout much better this time around (which is my second time doing it) than the first. I guess it's because I know what to expect and the pacing etc. Anyway, did pretty good with everything and really enjoyed myself.

Pinky- have a great trip! Regarding jeans, I've had some luck with Eddie Bauer jeans not being so huge in the waist. I'm in hourglass figure and am constantly having to deal with pants that fit my hips/thighs and are HUGE in the waist! Ugh! As far as entertaining your boy for 16 hours, have you considered renting a portable DVD player? I know most airports have a rental service. Not sure what the cost is and if you bought some kid friendly movies it might be worth it to keep him entertained. Who knows maybe you could bring some of your Cathe's too!

Kim- sounds like you're having a good week. Keep up the good work.

Brenda- Thanks for your comments about the body image thread. Just when I think I'm getting a handle on stuff like this, WHAM! Rude awakening that I still have so far to go! It was reassuring to hear from so many women (and men) that I admire for there dedication and knowledge that they struggle with this as well.

Big hellos to Lorihart, Shywolf, Judy, Cindee, Elizabeth, Lisa, Tracy (who I believe is in SF this weekend), Joy and anyone I may have forgotten!

Hey everyone,

My goodness, I can't believe how sore my inner thighs and upper hamstring are from my workout yesterday. As I said, it was basically unweighted! It definitely is not as fun as one of Cathe's workouts, but I think I'm going to have to keep doing it! Today I kind of took it easy. I did the Crunch Cardio Salsa again, just to sweat a little, and then a 20 minute pilates video. This weekend, I'm planning to do Push Pull and Rhythmic Step, with some pilates again.

Pinky, I was going to make the same suggestion as Brenda. Andrew's probably a little young for a Gameboy, but if he's seen them and shown any interest, it might be good for novelty's sake. There are some games geared to young children; I don't know what's still available, but they used to have Blues Clues, Sesame Street and Bob the Builder games. Based on my experience, you'll have to be prepared to help him, otherwise, he may just get frustrated. Also, if you have a walkman, you might get some book/tape combinations as an option. Again, I dont' know what's available now, but Disney usually puts them out as companions to their movies. When Nicholas was about 20 months we went to San Antonio, and he slept most of the way on both flights each way (we didn't have direct flights). I know Andrew's older, but you never know! Anyway, I wish you luck.

Brenda, I'm thinking of taking a walk after lunch, so I can enjoy some of the nice weather also!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well, I didn't work out yesterday. I was still so sore from the Pyramids on Mon. and Tues.! Today will be LL plus some cardio...probably kickboxing or intervals. My bod already seems to be responding to the increased lifting...I feel less poofy. Also I'm trying to eat better and less, drink more water, drink less coffee and replace (some of) it with green tea. I have a tendency to eat when I'm not hungry or just when I shouldn't.

Brenda-- 7 weeks to go!

Shywolf(right person?)--thanks for the post on body image yesterday. I only had time to read a bit of it. We're nearly the same size and I have the exact same toughts even though when I was a size 12 I thought, "If only I were a size 6!" Now I am and I can get very critical about myself . Other's honesty is needed, sometimes.

To everyone else, I'm still getting to know names with, hmmmm, not faces, but life situations and screen icons(!) so hello to all.

CinDee

As you can see, I got the screen name wrong on the body image post! I tried to go back and edit, but the server or site (I'm not sure...I can surf and e-mail and that's about it...I don't know the tech names!) wouldn't let me. Oh well. So thanks to *dutchgirl* for your post. Whew. I'll get it right someday!

Hi again ladies, thank you all for your suggestions about keeping my boy entertained during our long trip. I'm thinking of bringing his Leap Pad with all the books and cartridges and some of his smaller books about animals. His Leap Pad usually keeps him occupied when he waits for me to get done working out, and he loves being read to. I hope he'll sleep a full eight hours along the way. I'm bringing some Benadryl with us to relax him and as a decongestant. I'm glad that we'll be travelling with my brother since he's quite good at keeping Andrew entertained.

Well, I just did PS-UB and again, I had to go lower on some exercises. Took lots of long rests between sets. I'm still in this slump that I just can't get out of. I hope a few days on the beach will cure that.:) My knees are feeling better. I've just been doing kickboxing, the exercises my PT friend taught me, and lots of floor work. They all seem to be working, and although I know I've lost some strength in my legs, the modified squats and step-ups I've been doing, together with everything else has kept my lower body trim and toned. I do miss step though. I've also been doing more yoga and it's keeping both my body and sanity intact. These last two months have been difficult.

I'll still be checking in this weekend. I still have a full two days to spare, and I'll be working out for sure.:)

Have a good weekend, everybody.

Pinky
