Good MOrning Everyone!!!!!!!!:) :)
Once again,I can't beleive that MArch is almost over BUT I am happy to report that the snow is taking a good cutt'in out there. It as been mild for the last two days and I can finally see the pavement in my driveway.I don't think it will be long melting once it starts. As long as we don't get any more storms this year!:-( But I wouldn't be surprised if that happened either.
Its my daughters 8th b-day today. We gave her her surprise last night. We have 3 tickets to go see Brittany Spears in concert.I know she is probably getting a little to crazy for kids eyes and I also know that there was some reviews about some of her concerts already.I am hoping that if anything gets to wild I will just take her to the bathroom or go get a snack. We also heard that a couple of her shows were cancalled b/c she injuried her knee, hopefully that won't affect this show.We have a to travel a long way for it, a 3 1/2 hour plane ride and another hour long drive.
Needless to say she was very excited about her gift.I didn't think she was going to beleive us but she did and she kept saying that her belly hurts. We leave on April 2.
Anyway,I am not sure what workout I will be doing today.I am leaning towards Imax2 and a run.Its just a cardio day.
I also decided last night that I really need to concentrate on my diet more.I pretty much eat whatever I want, when I want.Half the time I don't even want something (craving) but I will eat it anyway. Its just turned into a habit and I know that if I watched it I could she great things.Whats the point in checking in if I am not really dedicated to the bikini body?????????
Thats it for me...I will check back later,
Lori:)

Good Morning!!! All I can say is it's a new week. I'm back to the gym tonight for step aerobics. Since I didn't go at all last week, I'm really looking forward to my workouts this week. My eating was terrible from Saturday night on. We went to the movies (before dinner) and we shared a buttered popcorn (MMMM it was so good) and a soda. Then we went to Red Lobster and I ate every bit of my dinner (I had grilled Grouper so at least that wasn't bad) and we shared a dessert. Then last night after dinner my husband went to Dairy Queen and I had a Brownie Earthquake. It was so good. I had been craving one of those for so long that it tasted so perfect. Anyway, I'm going to be a good girl this week :) with my diet. I hope everyone has a good day.

Hey everyone,

This may be a rest day for me. I haven't taken one since Friday before last, but then again, until this weekend my workouts were pretty light weight (although effective!). I did the hi-lo from Christi Taylor's 5004 yesterday--Sabine, you're right, it wasn't so manic when doing it; I enjoyed it. I also did Mari Winsor's Accelerated Body Sculpting, and then the bonus abs/rear workout from the Bar Method Fat Free dvd. My rear end is quite sore today, in places I haven't felt before. It might be some residual from Push Pull Saturday, but I think that Bar Method, which was deceptively easy, got it also.

I worked on taxes late last night, until 11:30, and decided I needed to sleep until 6 this morning, which left no time for exercise. I may do some yoga or stretching tonight (Sabine, I have that Tamilee Webb stretching tape also and like it a lot). Otherwise, I guess I should rest.

Tomorrow, I'm taking Michael to the ENT. Hopefully we can figure out this headache problem. I have to brag now. This was the first year that he had to do a Science Fair project on his own. It was a long drawn out process. He brought home a booklet on it just before Christmas, and it was finally turned in last Monday. Each class picks five to go on to the school wide Science Fair, where the student have to make presentations before a panel of judges (I don't know where it goes after that). Anyway, his was one of the five picked from his class, out of 25 kids! I'm very proud of my little buddy. Sorry, I couldn't help myself!

Pinky, I hope your trip was good.

Hellos to everyone!

Good morning everyone...

I found a rotation on one of the threads that I'm going to try from M&F Hers which is 8 weeks (and pretty tough) and that's my countdown till we go away and I have to be in a bathing suit. It combines circuit training, heavy weight, cardio and reps but I need to look over it again cause it was late last night and I was starting to fall asleep. I'll keep all of you posted if anyone wants to hop on and join me in April.

Yesterday I took the day off which was very nice. Today I'm going to do ME (I think- need to check) but I may need to start doing free weights on my own which I'm not crazy about. Cathe is easy to follow and I like her pace, plus its harder to cheat with her counting!

Kim, how could you possibly resist Dairy Queen? I haven't had that in so long, but we used to go there all the time as kids... I'm starting to get hungry.

Lori, glad you're starting to melt- its cold here but the grass is starting to grow and the bulbs are coming up, finally! Where are you going for the concert? Sounds like a haul- your daughter will love it and you're with her in case things get racey. My daughter would love to go!

Lisa, congrats to Michael- you should be very proud!:)

Hellos to everyone else- Joy, Sabine, Pinky, Elizabeth, Tracy, Shywolf.

Brenda

Happy Monday everyone,

I can relate to the crappy eating over the weekend quite a few of you are talking about. Sunday was pretty bad. I had some strawberries that I decided needed to be accompanied by some cream. Later on, I opened up my freezer and saw some ice cream I had forgotten about and decided to christen the vanilla and Karamelsutra. I felt ill and bloated! I was still so bloated by the time dinner rolled around that all I had was a bowl of Kashi/Corn Bran and a Tums!

This morning was PLB and while I had a great workout with the first part, I still find that my shins start burning on some of the ball work on the floor. What am I doing wrong?!?!? Needless to say that did dampen my enthusiasm a bit. Tacked on the abs from Step Heat and called it a morning.

Brenda- to answer the question you posed over the weekend about the weight gain. I find that the day after I have alcohol I am retaining water like crazy! Yes, muscle does weigh more than fat and I think sometimes it is better to go by the way you feel in your clothes rather than the scale. I also think that you were probably retaining fluid for any number of reasons (alcohol consumption, hormone fluctuations, extra salt intake, etc.). Do post the rotation you'll follow for April. I need to figure out what to do next.

Tracy- that's so great that you get to visit your dad in SF. The weather will be turning by the end of the week (cloudy, probable rain, highs in the mid to low 60's). I would suggest layers and a rain coat! Too bad you will miss the glorious weather we've been having for the past 2 weeks.

Lorihart- WOW! What a wonderful gift to your daughter! I bet she thinks your quite the cat's meow (and Dad too).

Lisa- Good luck at the doctor's tomorrow. Hopefully some light will be shed regarding your son's headaches. And how could you not help but crow about your son's accomplishment! Way to go!!!

Howdies to Shywolf, Pinky, Joy (who is probably enjoying Spring Training), Kim, Judy (are you back yet?), Elizabeth and anyone I may have forgotten!

HI Gals,
Just finished my workout, showered and have dinner in the oven.Oh...I am such a good wife aren't I? Keeping myself in shape while I keep my hubbys belly full:) Just joking!:7
I did a 70 min run and ME abs. We ran outside today which was REALLY nice. The roads were wet and you can tell that people get annoyed b/c you are taking up the road but to bad so sad.Move over!
I am feeling a little lazy now though.I really haven't stopped much all day.I tided earlier, did laudry, got groceries, visited a friend and went for a run.
My little girl thought it would be fun to get MY friends over for a fondue b/c its HER birthday.I think she likes grown-ups more then kids her own age.SO,I have a couple of friends comming over later but I will be good.It just seems to early in the week to be missbehaving!
Brenda-I never use to weigh myself after drinking. That was back in the day when I drank more often and I was more concerned about my weight(imagine that:) )Its weird b/c they say we deydrate ourselves when we drink but yet we retain water? Odd.
Lisa-I think you should enjoy your rest day.You deserve it.I hate taxes, especially this year.I have to pay in but DH gets $1800 back.Prehaps I will sneak a bit}(
KIm-I am glad you are back in action.Did you ever see the dairy Queen commercial where the couple is sharing a ice cream and she is really enjoying her's,she closes her eyes and savors it, but while she had her eyes closed he is spooning whatever he can into his mouth.SOunds like me and DH except reverse the rolls.;-)
Sabine-I hate it when I workout and things are hurting that aren't suppose to be hurting.Drives me nuts.
Anyway, hellos to everyone else.I am wanted on the phone,
Lori:)

Hi. I'm new to this thread, but I totally relate to your weight gain woes, Brenda! Actually, since Christmas my weight has gone up about 5 pounds and just stays there regardless of what I do. If you do the M&F 8 week rotation, I'd love to check in. I literally have 8 weeks before a bikini-necessary vacation and I'm going to start it today. I'm going to start with week 2 since circuit training has ben the bulk of my workouts since Jan. Actually, I'm wondering if that's part of the problem: not enough heavy lifting and now my metabolism is in the gutter! We'll see. If you see those scale numbers go down, tell me what's working for you! Right now I feel like a bloated line-backer.

CinDee

Lori: I've seen that commercial and that's exactly me (hogging the ice cream). Luckily my husband got his own ice cream otherwise that would be me. No wonder I have weight issues :)
Kim

Hello everyone!

Thought I'd pop in and say hi! Seems the *crappy* eating ran rampant from coast to coast :) as I didn't eat as well as I normally do! I do keep some goodies on hand, mostly for DH and sometimes for myself when I want a taste of a goodie but this weekend I munched more than I needed to. Ah well, I figure life is too short for me to not enjoy some the the delish foods out there, right? (trying real hard to justify here...;) ) We grilled chicken last night and had a few of these really yummy cookies- Key Lime White Chocolate (drooling here!...) On Sat, I made pasta sauce from scratch so yes, it was a delicious weekend!:9

I'm going to start a new rotation this week. Mon- PP/SS, Tues- Cardio (Firm or Cathe), Weds- ME, Thurs Cardio(KPC) and Fri yoga (30-45 min). I really enjoyed Timesavers but have been itching to get at Cathe's other w/o's.

Sounds like everyone is doing well with their rotations/w/o's.

Brenda- your rotation for April sounds good. I more that likely will stick with the one I'm starting today but I'd love to hear more. Which issue was it? I have the current one. Glad you enjoyed your rest day yesterday! BTW, Enjoy your trip!

Sabine- you're doing great with your rotation. It's a kick-butt one for sure! And Karamelsutra (had to read that one twice!:p)- sounds yummy! Sorry you felt a bit bad afterwards, though.

Lisa- tell Michael *WAY TO GO, BUD!!* I know all of you are bursting at the seams with pride- that's a wonderful accomplishment! Glad to hear you're able to do other w/o's again, though pilates/yoga isn't easy at all and you really work the muscles not to mention your flexibility.

Kim- enjoy your workout at the gym. And sounds like you had some good yummies this weekend, too. DH made a small bowl of popcorn for us last night- and was it good!

Hello to everyone else- have a wonderful day!

Elizabeth

Hi girls, finally made it to the check-in. I have a lot to catch up on. My trip to Houston was okay, but the trip back was a nightmare. Lots of people coming back to DFW after spring break, and this one-lane 6-mile stretch about an hour and a half south of Dallas doubled our drive time. It took us an hour and a half to cover 11 miles.

Anyway, after doing three loads of laundry, cleaning the house and getting groceries for the week, I was finally able to do KPC and additional ab work from ME and SJP.

Brenda, you asked about weight gain over the weekend. Yes, muscle is dense, and I can fit in a size 2 at 108 lbs. I couldn't do that before. I was 108 three months after I gave birth and I couldn't zip up my size 4 jeans. It took me a long time to gain 10 lbs., about a year. My eating hasn't been good lately, but I'm still the same weight at least. I'm trying hard to curb this bad eating during this slump.

Sabine, I'm leaving on the 29th for the Philippines and am staying there 'til the end of April. I hope I can get to work out while I'm there. My family tends to spoil me rotten when I visit with rich, good food I've loved since birth. Not good for someone going through a hard time.

Lisa, congratulations to Michael.

Cindee, welcome to this thread. Hope to get to know you better.

Hellos to Lorihart, Kim, Elizabeth, ShyWolf, Tracy and anyone else I may have forgotten. I've had a loooong day today...

Pinky

Pinky, get some sleep! I've been reading lots of articles about insomnia lately- how has yours been? You must be so excited to see your family.

Cindee, welcome! I'm going to try to look at the rotation in detail (again) if I can stay awake. If not, I'll print it out tomorrow and will post it then or at least get the name of where I got it.

I agree that my weight gain may have been the alcohol (and lack of drinking water, too) but it was horrible. Even though my clothes fit well the scale still affected me- so stupid.

I ended up doing ME today which I think may be the circuit workout I'll be doing this week (3 times plus 3 or 4 cardios- can't remember).

Good night everyone- talk in the a.m.

Brenda
