Big 10 Friday Nov 9

Cathlete
I love weigh in day when the scale cooperates! I'm down 3 pounds from last Friday. Thanks to all of you for support and struggling along with me.

Today is my rest/cheat day. I don't plan on going overboard, but I did make a cherry pie for dinner guests and may have to have a small piece. Al la mode, of course.

Shelley, what happened get you off the no junk challenge yesterday? Was the visit from Mr Stinkyguy? Here's a gentle slap on the hand and encouragement to get back on board - after the weekend, of course.

Lanie, what a day you had! Hope today it better and no one pees on your floor.

TK, do you go south in the winter? I'm not sure where I got the idea that you are a snowbird. Maybe I just figure anyone with a boat sails to warmer seas...

Michele, give your DH a welcome home hug from me and have a wonderful anniversary. I think you two need to take a get away weekend trip to north central PA.

Judy, enjoy your houseful of guests.

Meaghan, LOL about Chase not wanting to dress for the weather. I think kids must not feel the cool like us older lady type people.

Michelle, I'm like Shelley - I just had to clean up my eating to lose some weight. The workouts have become so much a part of my life it's no struggle to do them. Watch portion size and try logging what you eat. You may be eating more than you realize. Especially if you drink calorie filled liquids like regular soft drink, alcoholic beverages or fancy coffee drinks.

Hi to tneah, B, Deb and any others I may have missed. Hope all your weigh-ins, whenever they happen, are as rewarding as mine.

Morning Robin!

High fives on those three pounds! What a great feeling!

I'm not sure what happened to push me off the wagon yesterday. TTOM arrived FIVE DAYS EARLY. Maybe that's what did it. I won't be weighing myself today, that's for sure. I'm climbing back on the wagon today and we'll see how that goes.

How is everyone else doing today? Anybody else weigh in?

I'm hoping today flies by at work. I hate it when time drags.

My elbow is feeling moderately better, so I'm going to try a circuit today and go light on the weights. I'm scared to lose my muscle!

I'm going to check up on what everyone was up to yesterday and hopefully I'll be back with more personals.

Back sooner than I thought.

Tneah - man, you snagged yourself a great guy there! Hang onto him. Maybe you can get him to teach mine some lessons?

Lainie - ugh... it sounds like you had a monster of a day. Good for you for not stress eating! I would have had my head in the candy bowl!

Maeghan - isn't BBC full body fun? And yeah, that writing the alphabet drill... yikes!

Hi to everyone else! Oh, and happy anniversary for tomorrow, Michele!

Good Morning and TGIF!!:7

Just got back from a blood draw for my yearly physical. I hate going because you have to fast for 12 hours and no coffee in the am! I couldn't have my post workout protein shake either. I did a 40 minute I-Tread before I went.

Today we find out the results of our dog's 2 day blood work testing. They are seeing if he as Cushings disease or Addisions.;( . I hope it is good news and he has neither.

Robin:
Great job on the weight loss!

Shelley:
Get back on that wagon girl! We all need you up here to balance the weight on our slide down that 10 pound hill!:7

Judy:
Good for you on holding back . Your menu looked really good. Have you ever tried the WW chocolate covered ice cream bars? They are yummy and really satisfy that afer dinner sweet craving for me. Where do get sugar free, fat free hot chocolate?

Maeghan:
Hope you had a great workout!

Lanie:
Thanks so much for posting the workout sheets for the Slo-Mo workouts!

Tneah:
Newfie slobber! too funny. I hear ya.. we really have to love our dogs when we see what we do and put up with for them!

Michelle:
I found that cutting out processed sugar and just using portion control really helped me. I have one cheat meal a week, where I have everything I want. Usually its Mexican:9

B:
Welcome!

TK:
You are so brave for making Monday your weigh in day! I have my cheat meal on the weekend so I wait until Thursday to weigh in.

Hi to anyone I missed and have a great day!

Deb;-)

I was supposed to run with my cousin this morning, but Chase had a fever so I kept him home from school. Not sure what I will do today. Should do arms and abs, plus something?? My hips are sore from my WO yesterday. I really wanna do some yoga.

I seem to prefer my weigh ins on Sat, so I will stick with that. Still not doing so hot with my eating. I have had a stressful week w the ex, but I don't want to let that do me in. Not worth it, no excuses.

Shelly- hope that elbow cooperates with you. but becareful

Robin- since I lost all that weight last year, I can't STAND the cold. It makes my bones hurt!!! I can't stay warm for nothing! And I got invited to go four wheeling all day tomorrow, which sounds like alot of fun, but holy hell, I will freeze!!!!! And it's not even winter yet!

Deb- Great WO on no coffee! I hate those dang bloodtests. People gotta eat ya know!! lol

Maeghan AKA megadoo

High 5s to Miss Robinella!!!! Way to go on that 3 pound loss!

Y'all are making me look bad. I am down 1 measley pound. BUT, I have PMS and am bloaty, so maybe I'm really doing better than just 1 pound. One can only hope...

Shelley, don't beat yourself up over yesterday. You'll do great today! :)

Deb, I hope your doggie's test results aren't bad. I'll be thinking of you.

Maeghan, if Yoga is what you really want to do, then that's what you should do. Listen to your body. :) And you're absolutely right - the ex is not worth eating poorly over. Stay strong!

Good morning All!

I was supposed to weigh-in today but I somehow managed to sleep through the alarm and woke up with 20 minutes left to get up and ready for work - usually takes me an hour!

So today was planned as a rest day because I still have major DOMS from PUB the other day (what a magnificent feeling it is!) and I did IMAX 2 last night.

Anyway, big congrats to those who've lost (Robin, AWESOME JOB!!) and good luck to those who have yet to step on the scale. I'll report my number on Monday...

Good morning melters!!

Last week I was sad to post a 1# weight gain -- #$%@ pumpkin spice donuts -- but I'm very pleased to report a 2# loss this morning. I also took a 1/2" off my waist :) . Where I have done poorly this week is with my workouts. I ‘m feeling run down with a nasty cold, but prior to that I didn't miss a workout for 5 weeks so maybe my body needs the rest. What do you think? I feel better this morning so I'm going to try and get back on track.

My DH made it home safe and sound. We slept in this morning }( , and we're getting ready to go out for breakfast. I probably won’t be on the forums again until Monday, so I’m sending plenty of major meltdown vibes your way to hold you through the weekend!

Robin - WOO HOO!!! Holy wow, a 3# loss in one week!! I bow to your weight loss greatness!! Enjoy your rest day and go ahead and have a "small" piece of that pie -- you've earned a treat for sure ;)

Shelley - Oh man, Aunt Flo came early! Now that's what I'd call poor timing. I don't blame you for delaying your weigh in -- it wouldn't be accurate anyway. Here, grab my hand and I'll pull you back on the wagon. -- I'm sending healing vibes to your elbow. Be prepared for a long recuperation period. I injured mine last July and its still painful but improving steadily, albeit slowly. Hang in there and don't overdo. I did circuits with light weights and that didn't seem to aggravate it, although certain high reps (like bicep curls and triceps extensions) and long lever work might. By all means do it, but go easy and listen to your body. ;) :*

Deb, wow, good for you for doing an iTread while fasting! Good luck on your blood work, and your pooch’s blood work, too.

Maeghan, I hope poor Chase is feeling better soon. Good for you for not allowing your ex to derail you, and I’m holding you to that commitment!!

B, enjoy your rest day and I hope your scale is kind to you on Monday morning.

Evily, I’m SURE you’re doing better than 1 pound. I think it’s amazing that you lost anything in the throes of PMS!

{{{{{Lainie}}}}}, you had quite a day yesterday! How’s your DS today? Is this the same child who draws those delightful pictures? I hope today is kinder to you.

Hello to everyone I missed. On Your mark, Get Set, MELT!!

Morning!:7

Yeah to Robin and her 3 pound weight loss!:) That is just wonderful-I am kinda envious, but will use this as more motivation-way to go!

Shelley/Lanie/Evily and myself, we all struggled to lose during PMS/TOTM...sigh. Its almost impossible. Let's focus on this upcoming week shall we? At least the water weight will be gone. And Shelley, take care of that elbow, and do not worry, even after 6 weeks of basically doing nothing, I lost no muscle, and you will not either!

Michele, "sleeping in" counts as exercise-really good for your abs and quads I hear!}( Good news about your weight loss too.

Deb, I have to take my dog to the vet today for x-rays. Sending good energy your way.

Meaghan, B, TK, stay the course this weekend and you will see the results on Monday!:) I actually like the idea of a Saturday weigh-in.

Judy, your menu plans always look so yummy! Stick with it.

To anyone I missed, my apologies and best "melt-down" thoughts to you!

On my end, like I said yesterday, something has shrunk because too-tight jeans now fit nicely. My scale did not register a loss (other than the PMS weight, plus bodyfat was lower) but the tight clothes do not lie right?
I am also starting to see my upper body lean out which always happens right before I really start losing the fat, so although I was gonna cheat this Saturday, I am staying the course.
I am going to toss most of the Slim Series, seriously, what was that woman thinking making those incredibly boring tapes? I did one last night, it was 80 minutes of sheer boredom and torture. They might be effective but the dread factor is so high I simply cannot bear it, I will hold on to the "Firm It Up" lower body workout though-shorter, no weights and I always feel it the next day.

Will do a fun cardio workout today and maybe a total body circuit with Cathe. Hey DrillMax sounds perfect. Have a great day everyone, I am thinking about you!

:7

Hi Melters. Today was 4DS Kickbox/Legs. I've been enjoying the 4DS series so far, but I do need to get some additional plates and DBs so I can match Cathe. I've still been really good with my eating. Got into a little sugar free jello binge last night, then stupidly tried to make myself feel bad about it. When I counted it up I think my 'binge' was all of maybe 50 calories, I gotta get a grip LOL!

Robin: WTG on your 3#! You're a third the way there! To answer your question, no I'm not a snowbird yet but that's the plan after retirement. Our boat is nearby in Rock Hall, MD on the Chesapeake Bay. For now, we spend weekends and vacations on the boat. Oh and I have lots of stripping jobs lined up for the winter ;).

All you other gals with TTOM: I'm almost officially post-menopausal. I'm jealous that they now have the pills that limit TTOM to quarterly or never, I would have jumped on that in a heartbeat had I been younger when they started offering it. I hated the bloating most of all. I agree that staying away from the scale is a good thing!

Deb: Thanks for the reminder to get my bloodwork done. I've been carrying the prescription around in my purse for about a month. I think the fasting is the reason I've been procrastinating. Good luck to you on your test!

Maeghan: Hope your kid feels better!

Emily: One pound is still a pound closer to your goal. You're doing great. The slower you take it off the more likely it will stay off.

Michele: 2#s! ^5 to you!

Hi

Shelly- I am following in your PMS path. I should warn my family.

Robin- way to go on 3 # loss. Enjoy your pie a la mode. yum

Lanie- Some days with (4) little kids I recall thinking WTH? did I sign up for this? I think you just had one-of-those-days.

Michelle- Glad to know Dr. Michele made it back safely once again! Enjoy your time with him.

Maeghan- did you say Monday was your weigh in ? mine too. but my expectations are low, with all the guests and a wedding happening. I am quite sure there will be very little offered in the way of healthy choices.

Hi to Deb, Evily, Tuton keep up the good melting vibes :)

I just put a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake in the oven. I didn't want to be a lame host and have no dessert. At least I made it with half white flour and half soy flour, and canola oil instead of butter.

Hello everyone,
Judy ...that cake sound divine :9 .
Robin, I too am down 3lbs!!!...but today I went out to lunch with my hubby & did not do so well...plus ate a handful of Halloween leftovers (sweet tarts)...& I did so well at avoiding them all week.
I put my school books away for now & am heading to the basement to do 4DS kickbox/legs.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sarah

Good grief, I totally forgot about this check-in. It sounds like lots of you are really starting to see results - YAY!!!

And I may officially join now, just to make sure my weight stays on track. It should be interesting to see how my drastically reduced workouts will affect things.

So if you don't mind... can I check in even if I'm not trying to lose 10 lbs? I just want to stay where I am at this point.

I'm a little late checking in today--been pretty busy.

But I'm here.

The good news is, no one has peed on the floor, broken doorknobs, or drank unauthorized medicine. So I would call it a good day. Of course, the day isn't over yet, so we'll see what the kids have in store later.

Robin, Congrats on the great 3 lb loss! You are an inspiration!

Shelley, I'm with you and not weighing in today, since it's also TTOM and I would rather wait and hope for a good WI next week rather than deal with the vagaries of the evil hormone gods.

Deb, good luck with both your own tests and with your dog's. I hope you get good news about your doggie!

Emily, congrats on losing a lb even with PMS! I bow to you.

Michele, great job with your loss as well! The holy terror causing me all the trouble yesterday is my 2-year old Ewan. Isaac (my 5-year old) is the artist of the family.

Tneah, congrats on the jeans fitting better. In the last few months I've lost hardly any weight, but I went down a pants size, so I figured that was a good thing.

Hi TK--you mentioned the quarterly TOM thing--I'm going to start that after this period. I get to be on the pills for 3 months before I have another one. Woo-hoo. I hope it goes o.k.

Judy, yikes, 4 kids. I used to want 4 until I had 2. Now I might be stopping with 2. My mom had 4 and I always wonder "How did she do it!?" But of course there are people who handle a lot more than that.

Sarah, wow, impressive loss. You people are putting me to shame!

Hello to Maeghan, Shannon, B, and anyone else who drops by! Think I'd better shut up now before I wear this keyboard out.

Hey girlies! Just wanted to check in because I probably won't be around until sometime on Sunday. I did pretty well today. And I did the original Bootcamp tonight and used light weights and things seem fine with the elbow.

Shannon - of course you can check in with us!

Lainie - I just love your posts. You always make me smile. You're a great storyteller:)

All right, I need to go pack. Sophie was all packed when I got home, but unfortunately, she'd forgotten to pack PANTS:p
