BFL for Tue Mar 18th 2008

Good morning.

Belinda - great cardio workout. You had much more energy than me.

Today should have been cardio, but I didn't have it in me, so I opted for Total Body Stretching to work out the DOMS/kinks. Maybe once I get rolling I'll get some energy.

All of recipe/food talk yesterday has me thinking about Sunday. Easter dinner is at our house. We're not ham/lamb people, so just about anything will do. Last year it was a champagne brunch with quiches, hash brown casserole, homemade cinnamon rolls, etc. But the turkey lasagna sounds delish!

A few of you are sounding frustrated with your progress, and I'm right there with you. This past week just sent everything downhill. I'm thinking about chilling for the week, then starting over on Monday. My work load has been crazy, and the kids have so much due before the end of the week because spring break is next week.

Enough down talk. Sorry no time for personals. I might not have the pep to jump around but I can at least eat clean today, so off to make a protein shake.

Have a great workout and a clean eating day!

Good Morning ladies

Im sporting some doms in my Chest and triceps from yesterday and some doms in my calves from my run yesterday...feels good}(

Sherry-I took a week off(kinda) last week,it did help with the stress i was under! I did my workouts but didn't so much watch everything I ate as I would ususally do! If you decide to do it,I hope it helps!

Belinda-great job on your workout!

Hey to everybody else!

Todays workout is a step cardio..not sure which one yet? I need to do HIIT so maybe lowmax or imax2...I may just wait on DH to get up then do another run interval on the TM!

Good morning!

Belinda, awesome workout today! I was contemplating which ab workout to do and I think I'll copy you! Thanks for the idea! What type of equipment is needed? Was it a burner? When you told me yesterday what you had for lunch I went out to the store and got a box! I will have a vege burger for lunch today!

Sherry, way to go on listening to your body. So often I tend to see GOTTA GET IN MY WORKOUT because it says so when your body is screaming, SLOW DOWN! Enjoy your stretch! I hope you have a SUPER day!

Amelia, enjoy your DOMS today! Love that feeling! I will be doing iTrain 13 this morning, care to join me on the TM? I'll be looking for ya! ;)

DOMS aren't bad at all from GS Legs yesterday! I will be able to conquer iTrain 13, no problem!

Good morning to all that follow! Lets have a great day today!

Good morning, ladies! I'm posting real quick (and QUIETly), trying to get in the shower before the boys wake up! I was up early for my workout:

iTread 13 Sprints (logged 2.78 miles)
Leaner Legs with the ABS!

It's been a LONG time since I did that ab section and WOW WOW WOW! LOL Great all-around workout.

Today is my Free Day. I'm making that one recipe from EFL (Chili Releno or something like that), and we're probably going to the movies today. The kids rented a movie last night and I promised we'd watch it after breakfast, so I want to get out of the shower QUICKLY!

Ladies......it's NORMAL to feel frustrated. This is a journey thru LIFE, not just thru 12 weeks. Think about your goals. Where do you see yourself in the near future? In the distant future? What are you going to be able to MAINTAIN as a REGULAR workout and nutrition routine FOR LIFE??? Think about it. Then RE-GROUP! RE-FOCUS! AND DO IT!

KEEP ON TRUCKIN'!

Good Morning to you all,

Today is the day that DD's friend comes! It will be a hectic one for sure.

Belinda: Great job on your workout this morning!

Sherry: If your body is telling you it needs a break.. well that is the best thing for you right now. Enjoy your stretch. :)

Stephanie: Have a great run! This sounds like a good one for me too. I will join you. }(

Amelia: I like both of those workouts. Have a great workout whichever you decide to do!

Gayle: Ok...I guess a few of us will be following your lead today with iTread #13. I will tack on that ab workout as well.;-)

Hello to all that follow. Have a great day! BBL Heidi

Morning!
Sorry this has to be fast. I did a heavy BFL Upper body workout + Group Ride (spinning wkout for 45 minutes) + Abs from PS L&A. I really enjoyed the spinning this morning, the DVD has some very motivating music!

I agree, let's just keep on going! Life is full of lemons, let's make some lemonade, lol!

BBL for personals.

Kathy

P.S. I loved that triple tri video, Stephanie....thanks! :)

Hi Stephaine:

Raising my protein shake to you all.;-)

Have a great day everyone!

Now for that run...BBL Heidi

Okay ladies...sounds like some of us are struggling and I just wanted to share something I discovered last night. I love Monday nights, DH plays pool and once DD goes to bed the t.v. goes off and I cook and just have some quiet time. Good time to think and figure out some stuff. For a while now I've been beating myself up about not getting up and getting my workouts in first thing. So last night I was really thinking about it and I came up with some pretty substantial reasons why I LOVE working out at night. And I'm gonna share them with you:

1 - All day long I look forward to it and have felt somewhat lost on the days when I've gotten my workout out in in the morning.

2 - It's family time. DH does his thing on his side of the basement, I do my thing on my side and DD be-bops back and forth keeping herself busy with pretend play or arts & crafts.

3 - I don't enjoy working out in the AM. I am uncoordinated that early. I can't lift as heavy as I do in the PM.

4 - AND MOST IMPORTANT - If I workout in the AM, DD doesn't see me working out. It is really important to me that she sees me taking care of myself. I want to instill in her the importance of taking care of your own body. She joins in once in a while with her 1lb weights or stretching and that is really important to me.

So this is MY LIFE and this is what works for me. I can be consistent this way and be successfull and that is what is important in the long run right? I am not beating myself up about this anymore. For me, this can't be a 12-week challenge, it has to be a life-long challenge. Sometimes you just need to step back and figure what is going to work for you for the rest of your life.

Whew...I feel better!:p I'll do my personals on another post, because I'm taking up alot of space here!!!

hey girls, just a quick pop in to report my workout! I did LIC timesavor cardio premix on a six inch step! feels great to sweat like that!

Sorry to copy and paste:-(
I will bbl with personals:)

Well said, Melissa!

I totally agree this is a life long challenge, not just 12 weeks. If I thought it was only 12 weeks, then in my head I would be looking forward to the end and then blowing everything I had accompolished. (I already blew it but I'm now back on track, mentally as well as physically).

I do my workouts in the mornings around 9:30 when I have all the babies down for a nap. This way I'm not rushed to finish. If I did it at night then my family would be bugging me, (when's dinner, help me with my homework)blah, blah, blah!

I have thought about trying to get my DD, who is 9, to learn step aerobics. I have the basic step dvd so she could have fun with that then maybe add very light weights. Then we can workout together!!

Carolyn

Carolyn - Thanks! I am glad to hear that you are back on track. I think we've all fallen off the wagon a couple of times in this 12 weeks, but we all seem to get back on track and that is what is important! I tried to get DD, who is 8, to learn step and it's not working out. For Christmas we got her the pink step and it came with Basic Step and she tried in a couple of times. Not interested in it yet, though! That's okay.

Belinda - I love KPC abs. Still can't do a good looking pike on the ball, but I'm working on it.

Sherry - Sometimes a week off is exactly what you need. Give yourself a break and come back STRONG!!

Stephanie - I'm toasting right along with you and Heidi!

Heidi - I made the applesauce banana bread from Tosca's cookbook last night. I don't think I cooked it long enough though. I probably could have left it in the oven for 10 more minutes. I toasted a slice this morning and put some butter spray on it while it was still warm. OMG, it's soooo good!:9 I cut it into 12 slices then realized a serving is 1/10th, not 1/12th. I could have made bigger slices...darn it!

Kathy - I'll have some of that lemonade!;)

Amelia - I love chest DOMS! Not crazy about working chest, but I like the DOMS...that's kind of strange, isn't it?

Gayle - your words always PUMP ME UP!!! You are so inspiring, thank you! So what movie are you going to see today? DD wants to see Whorton Hears a Who this weekend. We are all looking forward to it!

ETA: might as well post my meals!

M#1: 3 egg whites, 1 slice applesauce banana bread, toasted, w/ couple sprays of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Very satisfying breakfast!
M#2: grilled chicken wrap w/veggies
M#3: salad w/3 oz lean grilled steak (ended up having steak last night instead of haddock)
M#4: 1 c veggie chili
M#5: 6 oz haddock, 1/2 c brown rice & veggie
M#6: apple w/1T natural pb

Hi just peeking in,

Amelia: Great job on that 6" Step!

Melissa: I couldn't have said it any better! Whether we workout in the morning or evening is up to us. Life gets busy at times and things need to change up or back depending on how you look at it.

My DD says the samething about not being able to workout as early as I do. She just feels too groggy and lightheaded at that time. She usually trys to get in her workout in the evenings. (Sometimes at 11PM!)

Don't worry that your DD doesn't seem all that interested right now. Believe me...this too will change. It is great in the meantime that she has you as an example on how to take care of herself. Being healthy and happy doing so is what counts:)

Ok...guests are here (EARLY!) HAVE TO RUN. BBL Heidi
