BFL for Monday April 28

I think I missed this while I was MIA last week, but are we calculating calories burned this week??? If so, I'll have to figure out how to get my Garmin/HRM to do that without using the GPS function. ANybody know? Kathy...do you have a Garmin?

Stephanie-I battled with BIG black ants last summer and finally WON when I had the ‘bug guy’ come out and spray around my house. It was expensive, but it was guaranteed to keep all critters away. I’m having him come out again this summer to ‘upgrade’ the spray (much cheaper once you have the base down). GOOD LUCK!

Belinda-is Alesia okay now???

Sue-I feel like we haven’t EVER chatted, and I apologize for that! That protein shake sounds yummy!

Kathy-looking at your workout today, I think that answers my question to you, “how do you feel today, after yesterday’s duatholon?” lol

Michelle-SO GLAD you liked that tanner! I feel the same way….I don’t see the little dimples on my thighs as much when I have the tanner on! LOL (were you MIA as well?)

Gayle

Michelle & Gayle - my tanner came last week. I was hoping to try it out yesterday, but the weather was kind of crappy so I didn't want to come in to work today with a "tan".

Meals for today:

M#1: 1 slice applesauce banana bread & scrambled eggs (3 whites, 1 whole)
M#2: apple & 1/4 c walnuts
M#3: salad w/1/2 can white tuna
M#4: w/w wrap w/3 slices turkey & veggies
M#5: grilled chicken (if it stops raining!), sweet potato & steamed brocolli
M#6: protein shake (gonna try out Sue's recipe above :9 )

Tonight is BFL LB for me. I might jump on the bike for a little while too.

Carolyn, how was S/H chest and back? Nice walk yesterday too! Hope your day is going well!

Sherry, congratulations to the kids for a great game!
So glad to hear your toe is healed! Hope you have a great afternoon!

Amelia, gosh what a WO girl! You worked off that brownie for sure! Hope you feel better soon!

Michelle, I too am using Dave's. LOVE IT!!!
Not a stupid question about the HR monitor. I just got mine Friday from Target. It's a Polar 4...that was all they had. It shows you the time and date, exercise duration, time spent in heart rate zone, average and max heart rates and your calorie expenditure after each exercise session. It also reminds you to exercise at least every three days! LOL I opened the package and noticed a belt-like thing...didn't know what that was until I read the book. You put the "transmitter" around your chest just below the chest muscles. It's not uncomfortable at all. I thought the watch/HR did it's own thing. Maybe you already knew all that though! :7 I was thinking the other day that maybe I would wear it all day, just to see how many calories I would burn off in a day...I wonder if Kathy has ever done that?

Heidi, my back is getting there, thanks for asking! Enjoy PUB this afternoon!

Gayle, happy 100th birthday to Grandpa! Wow, what an accomplishment! Hey, if you get on TV maybe the news station will have a link on their website so we can all watch!
I vote HIS! The last routine is tricky! I have done that WO about 12-15 times and FINALLY got it this morning! As long as you're moving though, right?
Yes, we were to count calories burned from today's WO then tally them up at the end of the day and see the total! Possibly a motivator? Maybe we can do it weekly/daily? What do you think?

Belinda, oh no, I hope Alesia is going to be okay! Keep us posted! Have a great day CLEANING AGAIN!

Sue, you did great at the calorie burn today!
Thanks for the wrap info ;) ...I will try it out! I will also be fixing your yummy sounding Banana Nut protein shake!
On HIS, I too, love the digging blast. BURN BABY BURN! Have a wonderful day!

Kathy, AWESOME calorie burn!
I got the Polar 4 from Target! I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for being an enabler! :p
How does your body feel since your race yesterday? By the looks of your WO today, it seems to be strong!
Hope you are able to tackle all your work today!

Melissa, hey girl! Haven't chatted with you in awhile! How do you like your bike? Is it a stationary?
Your meals look yummy! Can I come over for grilled chicken? I'm not shy about inviting myself, am I! :+

Liann, YIPPEE on the weight loss!!!
Working in the yard/garden brings a sort of giddy/happy feeling to me. And that sure can be a WO too!

Okay, so far the calories burned is at 1373!!! Let's set a goal next time and see if we can break it, you wanna?

Man, was I chatty, whew!

Finished S/H Chest and Back. I am already feeling this one. I think I am going to continue on the S/H rotation for the nex month or so. I did this back in the beginning of the year and that is when I had lost weight. It's worth a try again.

Kathy - Congrats on your run yesterday!! Are your feet still numb?

Sherry - Graduation in May 24th. The last day of school is May 21st which is a Wednesday. There are 4 graduates in our cul-de-sac so we are going to have a cul-de-sac graduation party on Friday night for all the neighbors that we all invite. Then on Sunday, we are having another party for just our close friends and family. It would be too weird to have friends, family and neighbors in on place:p

Sue -Your protien shake looks yummy. I'll try that in the morning.

Melissa - Did you end up getting the trainer for your bike? I would love to have one of those. My DH and I used to bike ride every weekend until 6 years ago. He fell when he pulled off the sidewalk to let joggers by and his front wheel got stuck in the soft grass, he went over the handle bars and shattered his elbow. Surgery and plates and pins. It wasn't even a great wipe-out!! Anyway, he has been leary to hop back on the bike since then.

Amelia - Watch out for that wagon}( It ran me over a few weeks back. Just take it one day at a time.

Heidi - I walked 5 times around our block which is 3 miles. A couple of good hills. Have fun with PUB.

Gayle - How exciting that your grandfather is turning 100! That should be lots of fun. I remember when I was in high school, my great-great aunt was turning 100. My dad and I flew up to Chicago for the party. She got around pretty darn well for her age. She ended up living to the ripe old age of 108!

Belinda - Hope Alesia is okay today.

Hi to Michelle, Liann, Stephanie:D

Carolyn - I got the Gold's Gym stationary bike that Walmart sells. I really like it. I like the idea of getting a trainer for my outside bike, but it is NOT in good shape! It's good enough to go around the neighborhood, but that's about it. YOWZA on your DH's bike accident!! I would be leary of getting back on a bike after that too.

Stephanie - dinner is at 6:00. Does that give you enough time to get to MA???;)

Liann - congrats on the weight loss!!!

Melissa, if I had my own plane I would be there in time for the 6pm dinner bell! According to Map quest, it's Total Estimated Time: 12.0 hours 41 minutes and Total Estimated Distance: 754.84 miles...maybe I'll just grill out chicken here tonight!

>M#6: protein shake (gonna try out Sue's recipe above :9 )

OMG Melissa, it is too damn good. My hubby was in shock too! So I forgot to mention that I also add a little ice:

Banana Nut Protein-gasm:

Couple cubes of ice
1/2 frozen banana (hubby and I freeze 2 dozen bananas every couple of weeks to thicken our shakes)
6-8oz skim
Dabble of vanilla
Teaspoon of PB....and that little bit of PB is so packed w/ flavor

Enjoy!

Sue

Hey girls, just popping in for a bit:)

Liann-YAY girlfriend on the weightloss! It IS so exciting to see the scale move!!! Didn't you mention that the myoplex bars gave you heartburn? I bought two yesterday and ate one after my workout today and OMG,heartburn city eversince...hello pepto;-)(i will still eat the other one tommorrow:+)

Kathy-I can't beleive i forgot to tell you CONGRATS on your victory!!! Im adding another high fives in the long line;-)That is SO VERY AWESOME

Gayle-Can you beleive survivor lately? All of the blindside's are sure making it interesting. I was kinda sorry to see Ozzy go though(he was a cutie}()

Michelle-Great job on supersets, thats a workout im thinking about getting...I love weight workouts!

Heidi-How was PUB? That workout always gets me nice and toasty! I was going to take your advice today but after my TM Walk i felt ok so i went ahead and did the weight work...i skipped one of my LB workouts last week so the guilt was killing me:+

Stephanie-I too am battleing the little black antsx( I put out those ant hotel things-no luck yet. Im trying to stay away from sprays as I have asmtha and my ds has RSV. Right now there going dangerously to close to my natural peanut butter...now there looking for trouble}( LOL

Carolyn-Let us know the results of the S&H rotation that your doing! I don't have that series but that is yet another on my long list! I love lifting heavy, make me feel tough,LOL

Sue-your meals look so yummy! They are giving me ideas of upcoming meals please keep posting them!

Melissa-Im missing that applesauce bread, man i love it in the morning! Its almost like a muffin:9 I didn't make it last week but i think i will make it this weekend...how do you slice it in 10 slices? I always end up with 8?

Well,im going to the docs tommorrow with a couple of issues and i will mention my body aches and sore throat! Im mainly going because i keep having these little emotional episodes every other week..i just cry and feel really sad for some reason,im not sure if its my DH's new work hours or what but im tired of it! Im a happy, content peron most of the time. :)

everybody have a wonderful night!!

Amelia - it's really hard to cut 10 equal size slices. I use the tip of the knife to make a mark in the middle, then try to space out five more marks on either side. They are actually pretty good size slices and just fit in the toaster! The last time I made it I did it in a muffin tin instead but I ended up overeating them. They were WAY too easy to eat. I almost pulled out DH's tape measure when cutting up the bread this time to get even slices, but thought that was a little too crazy!!

Sue - LOL!! Love the name for your protein shake!! I just realized that I don't have any natural pb left..x( I might have to use DD's Reese's pb since I have my belly set on that protein shake after my workout! I was going to say "heart", but belly is much more appropriate!! I almost always have at least 12 frozen bananas in the freezer at any given time. DH only like bananas that are just ripe. Once they start getting little brown spots, he won't eat them so in the freezer they go. I started putting one in my protein pancake batter last time I made them and they came out really good.

Off to do LB. I'll wear my HRM and come back to post my calorie burn.

Oh, Melissa. I like the idea of adding a banana to the protein pancake batter!

My last post of the night (that's the goal, anyway). For accountability, 100% clean, going into Meal 6 (apple and 2 string cheese). Tomorrow morning's goal is to be IN THE BASEMENT no later than 5:30am!!! Not a second later! I will be doing Low Max for the first time in a while, followed by abs. I was hoping to have my new Tracey S Core Blast today, but it didn't come, so I guess I'll do Core Max on the ball!

Good night!

Gayle

I'm back. Just finished up 20 minutes of CC #1 and BFL LB. I used my Polar HRM for my calorie burn. I'm really surprised at how many calories I burned doing BFL LB!!

153 calories for 20 minutes CC #1
288 calories for BFL LB (about 38 minutes)
=
441 Total

Off to SHAKE-IT-UP!!!

I'm back! Ok, put me down for 450 Calories for a 45 minute run. I'm really mad at myself for not thinking to wear my heart rate monitor while doing Tracey's new CoreBlast after the run. I didn't expect it to get my heart rate going like it did. I'm hoping to be REALLY sore in my tummy tomorrow. I definitely need some definition there.

Amelia - Yes, the myoplex really bothered me at first. I've kept with it though and I think my system is adjusting. I just cut it back to only 1 shake every other day. I usually drink it on the nights I lift. Tonight I made one with black cherries and pineapple. It was actually REALLY good. I made my DH a strawberry banana one. I rarely ever drink them by themselves, I'm always throwing something in. The banana really gives the shake a nice texture, but I have to go easy on bananas. ;)

Stephanie - WOW, that's a lot of calories!!! Now I really want to know how much I burned on CoreBlast. We need to do this again, so I can remember to wear the monitor for my weight work too.

Gayle - Congrats to your Grandfather on his 100th birthday! :) That is so cool! I just got my CoreBlast today, so hopefully yours will come tomorrow.

Belinda - Yeah for butt doms! Those are the best! Ok, they make sitting on the potty difficult, but I love knowing I actually worked my bootie. :)

Hi to Melissa, Carolyn, Sue, Michelle, Kathy, Heidi, & Sherry. I promise I'll get better at these personals. I'm still feeling my way around here! :)

Eating was good tonight. I made the tuna casserole from "Eating for Life". We had enough for leftovers, so that will be lunch tomorrow too. Hope you all have a good evening! Time for bed. :)
