Good Morning Everyone,

Time to get moving for our last day this week! I can't believe it has been 2 weeks already!

I am going to make this a quick note to get us rolling.

Gayle: Ohhhhh, That GS Legs is getting me this morning. I am going to go do a really good stretch before any cardio today! What a workout!

I hope everyone is doing great this morning and got plenty of rest.

Take Care,

RE: BFL Saturday 10/13/07

Good Morning, Ladies ~ :)

Hi Heidi~ Thanks for starting us out this morning. Sorry, I been MIA the majority of the week. I am really going to try and control myself this weekend, and get back on track w/ my eating and working out.
I LOVE GS Legs...This one gets me everytime, you think it's the slow motion lunges at the end? }(

Gayle~ WooHoo!!! 10 pds, that is great...water gain or not, that is awesome!

Thinking about pulling out BM2 this afternoon. I bought this at the RT and never did it. I think I'm missing Cathe :)

My daughter is with her Dad this weekend. So it's pretty quiet around here, can I say a vacation for me...That's mean, huh? :):)
My BF is laying tile all weekend, so It will be just me and the dogs. My son will be here, but probably hibrating in his room on the phone.

Talk to you soon.
Have a Great Weekend!!

Hi Jennifer,

You are going to like BM2! Takes a little practice but you'll get it.

Finished my stretching...feeling better now. I'll do my cardio later today.

Have a good day! Enjoy your freedom!;-)

RE: BFL Saturday 10/13/07

Oh, Jennifer...I'm jealous! LOL Alone, adult time. Barely EVER happens in this house, but when it does, sometimes I just veg out and other times I do TONS of stuff! LOL I agree with Heidi, you are going to LOVE BM2. I LOVE the music in the step portion. LOVE IT!

Heidi-LOL....evil laugh...on the GS Legs. Hurts so good, doesn't it???

As for me, I was up earlier than the alarm, but only because my fire/smoke alarm inside my bedroom was beeping due to a low battery. I dug my head under the pillow and ignored it for 30 minutes, till my alarm went off for real! LOL. Then I hit the basement and I ROCKED cardio this morning. HIIT on the TM and I hit numbers that I've been aiming for since my first BFL cardio session. I maxed out at speed 9.0 (forget what that equates to for a minute mile, but it's FAST, lol). I think I got BEYOND the throwing up factor and moved into HYPERVENTILATION mode! lol. Then I did abs (2 sets of 20 each of oblique twists, crunches, leg lifts, revers crunches, and bicycles), then Stretch Max 3 with the band. My band keeps breaking, a little at a time. Soon it will be time to replace it! lol

ANYWAY...plans for today include my older son's BDay party at the mini golf place. Then hanging out with the kids, boyfriend, and whoever happens to stop by my house! LOL

RE: BFL Saturday 10/13/07

Hi Gayle!

Awesome run!:) I would have to agree that it is that time to get a new band before it comes up and snaps you in the worst way!

My friend was over for her workout last night. I put her through the BBC Chest and Abs. I don't think she is going to be able to laugh today because it is going to hurt! I did the push-ups and abs only because my shoulders are still a little tender from the upper body boot camp I put myself through on Weds.
Yeah it hurts so good!

Have a great day!

RE: BFL Saturday 10/13/07

Great Run Gayle!!! :):)

I am actually thinking of getting my rear up and hitting the gym today. I would love to start the Couch to 5K plan.
I love to run on the treadmill, but my knee doesn't care for it. Last Challenge I did I was upto 8.5 MPH sprint. Maybe that is what finally did it for my knee. You think? Maybe I need to slowly work up to it, do you think this will help strengthen it a bit?

I love BM2- well I only did the step portion they have on Cardio Fusion, but I have to agree the music GREAT :) Gets you moving for sure!

Good morning everyone!

Getting a late start today. But why not? My kids are also with their dad this weekend (Jen, I totally hear you on the vacation thing!! ;-) ) so I slept in. Oh, it felt so good. I'm also making today my free day, because I've got to run a 5k tomorrow, and considering the way my body feels after the workouts I did this week, I think it needs a rest. SOOOO, I started my free DAY, and yes, I mean "day", with a Pumpkin Muffin from Dunkin' Donuts. Let me tell you, they are as good as they look on t.v. Yumm-O! :9 :9 :9

Crazy day at work yesterday, and I never checked in, so I'll have to go and read to catch up with you all. Hope everyone has a great day!

Gayle, great job on the heavy weights AND the weight loss! Holy crap, girl! Ten pounds??? That rocks!! I alss find myself needing more weight, so I've been looking on ebay at the Bowflex Selecttech 552 dumbbells. They're expensive, but I'm still bidding. I figure I'll probably never need more than a 52 pound dumbell, and it's nice that you don't need like...20 different sets...just that one set, so I'm starting to be able to rationalize the cost. I won't pay as much as Bowflex wants for them, which is $400 before shipping, but if I can get them for just around $200 before shipping on eBay, I might take the leap.

Kerry, awesome job meeting your goals this week. Time is the biggest factor that works against meeting my own, and it's so easy to opt for something other than a workout when you're running short on time. I know exactly how accomplished you feel, because I'm right there with you!!

Teddygirl, Sam's club is in my near future, too. It's so easy to overspend there, but if I go with a list I'm usually okay.

Jill, I hope you clear up that insomnia thing. I know that I suffer the most when I have new changes in my life. I hate to say it, but I haven't found a real solution other than riding it out. ;(

Veronika, did you ever find a way to make your barbell more comfortable? The one I have is an oooollllldd one that came with my BodyPump video, and it only weighs about four pounds. It works okay for me. Maybe a lighter barbell would make a difference for you? I don't know. But I hear the Troy Lite barbell is only five pounds or something.

Okay, sorry so long...but hopefully I'm caught up now! Catch ya later, chicas!

Hello Jennifer and Jennifer!

Jennifer/Fitness Mom: Check out coolrunning.com for the schedule for the couch to 5K training plan. I would also recommend strengthening the knee by: put 2-5 lb leg weights on..sit on bench and with legs bent to the floor raise and lower one leg at a time. Start with 10reps work up to 20. Then try sets 2 @10reps and so forth. Standing leg exercises.. same weights, use chair for balance and lift or bend leg toward butt one at a time using the same reps listed above. This helped me out with my knee problems. coolrunning.com may have other exercises as well.

Jennifer/irishrose: Good luck on your 5K Sunday!:7 Where are you racing?

Headed out to the store now, talk with you all later.

Thank you, Heidi!

The 5k is in lil' ol' Rutland, here. The course is a loop through Rutland State Park. It should be fun. It's called the "Annual Pumkin Paddle 5k", which is kind of funny because I'm pretty sure it's the first one. How do they know it's going to be annual? :p My girlfriend and I were the first two to sign up for it a couple weeks ago, so I don't know what the turnout will be. But it's being held as part of this new local tradition of the Rutland Pumpkin Paddle, which will take place after the race, where many of the locals take the biggest pumpkin they can find, which, by the way, they have grown themselves, carve it out into a quasi-boat, and then race their homemade boats in one of the local ponds (I think, or it might even be the Ware River, not sure about that.) And just to be clear, they are racing these pumpkins by actually sitting in them and paddling them around the pond, that's how big they are! The whole thing is so goofy you have to love it! :+ I won't be paddling, just running. :) I'm worried that my time won't be good at all, because I haven't been running for distance at all lately. My last 5k I finished in 27:10. If I can do that again, I'll be happy. I don't know this course at all though, so we'll see.
Hopefully the weather is as good tomorrow as it is today.

What's on your plate today?

Jennifer

Just poking in to say HI! DS's BDay party is over, and I'm glad that's done. lol Usually, I have the parties at my house with a theme, a homemade pinata, everything! BUT....no more! I am really starting to LIKE paying for the convenience of things! LOL Most of the boys came back to our house and they're outside playing football. Can't wait to see who gets hurt first! LOL

That pumpkin muffin sounds SOOOOOO GOOD! I made a homemade Pumpkin Bread this morning and it's just waiting for FREE DAY tomorrow! LOL

Just had a quick bite to eat (salsa chicken wrap, yum) and waiting for BF to stop over. I'm falling for this guy....more on that another time! LOL

Gayle

Hi again,

Just back from food shopping and looking for DD's wish list gifts for her 21st BD tomorrow. I am totally exhausted! My husband has did it again to me...we got ice cream at Richardson's in Middleton MA. They make the best around. I asked for a small and I got this huge cone with two baseball size scoops on it in return! Yikes! There goes my free day sunday. I am so full now...I had DH take off the bottom chunk so I could eat the cone because I didn't want to waste this which is my favorite part.
I still have my cardio to do but I think at this rate I will get to that tomorrow. (Maybe at the trail race in Magnolia) Just too tired now.

Jennifer: What a great pumpkin race theme! It sounds like a lot of fun to watch the pumpkins being rowed in a pond. You'll have to share some pictures on that one! :7
I hope you have a good fun race even if your time is a little off. Are you running with a family member or friend?

Gayle: Now you can relax and enjoy your evening with your friend. The hardest part of the day is now over. You have peeked my curiosity now!
:p

Have a great evening everyone!
Check in with you all tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I am back from my hike. We had to park at another trailhead because the one we were going to was full, so that added another mile onto each end of the hike. Then we made to about 1/2 mile short of the lake because a snowstorm was moving in! So we did get snowed on but it was a lot of fun. I didn't sleep well last night either and so I am completely wiped out now.

Okay, I was having problems with the online album...I'm too tired right now so I'll deal with it tomorrow.
