Best exercise for saddle bags

Helly Cathe and I am new to your website after watching Fit TV. I love your show. I am a clean eater, exercise religiously in the gym and I also ride mountain bikes and cycle for miles. I lift weights 4 days in the gym also. I am 5'7", 135 lbs with 20% body fat. So the question is....why is it so hard to get ride of the saddle bags and lower butt. I do lunges, squats and all the things they say for that area. I am happy with the other parts but it's this area that just won't firm up. What's the best exercise for this?

Wow sounds like you are doing everything right.

I am a pear shape and I have found that kickboxing really helps my lower body. Of coarse it would since it is my one of my least fav's to so. Have you done much kickbox?

Good luck,

Winter

I'm subscribing to this thread as my saddle bags are full of rocks! I'm killing myself everyday just to keep my butt from hitting the back of my knees and it's better - but not gone that's for sure.

I will tell you though that Cathe did a rotation for November '05 for Fat Burning that has been the biggest help. Well that and diet. But here's the thread if you would like to try it.

I will say that because of this rotation I have seen the biggest improvement over the last 60 days (been doing for 2 months now thanks to mom for letting me borrow the DVD's) but I've been doing Cathe since June '07 and a HUGE runner before that.

I second what Winter said! Kickboxing is what helped me get rid of that bulge. I initially started doing kickboxing with my Tae Bo tapes and that's when I noticed the difference in my legs and butt. I have since moved on to Cathe's workouts and my saddlebags have never returned. :7

Darli Ann -

How often are you kickboxing? And how long did it take you to notice a difference?

I would like to know the answer to this also...I am at a disadvantage since I really do not like kickboxing! But if it would help get rid of my 'bags, I'll do it!

Thanks for helping us-

I enjoy kickboxing more than step and other cardio so I tend to do a kickbox workout at least twice a week. Those side kicks are really affective for me and I notice that if I slack off my workouts for a month here and there, my saddlebags are the first things that start to return. They are my first "indicator" that it's time to get back to work.
