Beat the winter Blues - 2/9

Good Morning everyone,

Although it's not that warm, it's a beautiful day outside. The sun is finally out which perks up my spirits.

This morning did Supersets. I really like this workout although it does not seem as tough as say, Muscle Endurance or MIS, as far as an endurance type workout. Had a great workout none the less and am happy to do this one again. I'm keeping a workout log for 2004 and have only duplicated 3 videos since January 1, both of the Pyramids and Mindy's Extreme Intervals. So I hadn't done Supersets since sometime before the New Year and forgot how much a enjoy it.

Was also pleasantly surprised that so far my copy of Supersets shows no signs of problems like others have experienced (I'm thinking of a thread in the Video/DVD forums). Knock on wood!!!!

Shywolf, did you manage to finish the tiling this weekend?

Pinky, when does the company descend?

Brenda, you've been having some great workouts over the past couple of weeks. You go girl. IMAX 2 and the KPC abs?!?!? I'm so spent after IMAX 2 I don't know how you do it.

Lorihart=amazing workouts. Enough said.

Hello to Joy, Lorisax (how was the rally?), and Tracy.

Hello everyone,
Well, let me hit the weekend hilites...

Pinky - oh my - full time v 6 weeks - oh my. I cannot even imagine. and I'd better not comment any more. (BTW, I'm impressed with your 15# dumbbells on PS BBA for the bi work - I can't get past 12)

Shywolf - I'm impressed with the ceramic tile escapade. I wouldn't dare try.

Sabine - I'll be thinking of you Thurs. One nutrition suggestion - I don't know much about this but I remember someone saying that Ensure was a good drink with lots of vitamins and cals and the like - I really don't know the content, but maybe you could check it out (the grocery stores here carry it)

LoriH - sounds like you're running your legs off - Oh and please pass the cornflakes (much better than McD's) If I stay up late and don't get enough sleep I feel hungover with NO drinks!

Hi Brenda! Sounds like a tough W/O doing IMAX2 and 'crunch'

Hello to LoriS, Tracy and Stacy-MN

I had a good workout weekend - Saturday PLB shower, breakfast, rest, 10-10-10 (needed to work tri's to complete the week) Then I ate lunch out AND dinner out - don't want to think of the calorie count. Sunday Hi/Lo Heaven all three stages - fun. Went to see the Magic play the Lakers - it was like a circus in the arena! constant noise and entertainment - I was exhausted last night. Did Cardio Kicks this morning. I really had fun. I even managed the sequential power kicks.

Catch you all later,
-joy

ps I cut and pasted from the topic I started and I'll go edit that one now....

Hi Gals,
Isn't it funny when two people are posting the same thing at the same time? We have all day to post but for some reason we pick the exact same moment.I've done it before:)
I enjoy supersets to but I wasn't sore after I did it.Or with Push and Pull for that matter.I did ME yesterday and I FINALLY did the static lunges.I was so proud of myself.I HATE doing them.I just feel so off balance,my back foot keeps sliding back and my front food keeps sliding forward and before you know it I am doing a split. I have hated doing them since my Body Max days and that was atleast 6 yrs ago.But I was so happy when I did them b/c I can really feel it in my bum today.Or it could have been all of the step ups that I did.:) And I didn't use a 10 lbs plate,I used 15 lbs dumbells.I didn't want to waste anytime.
Today was a cleaning /relaxing day for me.I start my week at work tomorrow so this is my last day off until Friday.Big deal hey? Im so glad my hubby is the bread winner in this family:7 Don't get me wrong...I like work, but I wish I could only go when I wanted to:7 I guess everyone would like that:)
Anyway, today was cardio for me.I did A 80 min run and 1/2 Imax1.It went by so fast though.I watched the Price is Right and 1/2 Maury Povich, all while running and playing a hand held game.I have to keep myself occupied or I will hop off of that treadmill any second.
Thats it for me.I hope everyone had a great day.
Lori:)

Hi Everyone!! Rally was fun, and I ma back. Started up another week of my Slim Series. Last week I added 4 1/2 cardio's, and this week I am just going to do the series as is. I have a very busy week, and will just stick to the basics. Not feeling the best today, pretty eornery, and emoitional. Hope everyone has a good day.

Me again,
Well this talk about supersets and muscle endurance has me thinking. I was planning to do a full body weight workout tomorrow and I was thinking that I should use my SS/PP dvd to see if it is okay. But here is my dilemma, I'd like to do SS but I don't think it has any step ups which seem to be the best thing for my bum...Then I'm remembering that one time through isn't really enough so maybe I should do a premix that is 2 times through ah I Just Don't Know!! I don't like to waste any time = especially on lower body which I GREATLY DISLIKE doing.

Any suggestions?

edited for grammer:)

Hi Joy,

While Supersets doesn't have any step ups, it does have some nasty one legged squats that do get you in the bum! While I think Supersets is not one of the most intense endurance workouts by Cathe, I really like it, especially after a week of Slow and Heavy! If you do the same weight as Cathe (and I did for most of the exercises) you will feel it. I also love how the ball is used in Supersets.

And I also love Muscle Endurance. The workout is so good and the music is kicking. I feel your dilemna! That's why is created my current rotation of strength week/endurance week so I could get all my favorites in for the month!

I don't think I helped at all!

Good evening everyone~

Joy- I agree w/Sabine. ME is great- SS has that nasty quick "power lunge" which gets the heart going, although I'd much rather do a high step set instead.

I did Step Blast and SuperSets yesterday (my DH took all the kids to his mother's for the afternoon so I had plenty of time w/out interruption). I've been getting in great workouts but my eating has not been careful so I think I've defeated everything I was working on.

I need to really start cleaning up my eating- just hitting a frustrating level right now and I've been craving carbs and sugar terribly. Even opened a bag of M&M's that was a year and a half old that was stuck in the lazy susan. What's wrong with me?

Took today off... what's everyone's take on Rhythmic Step? I'd like another hard cardio tape cause I'm starting to feel myself adjusting to the current cardio I've been doing (mostly Step Blast, Imax2, MIC and BootCamp).

Help, anyone?? Feeling mighty discouraged right now.

Brenda

I think thats why I have been doing so much running. It was just the other day ,I was thinking,I can't imagine doing 40min of cardio anymore.I just feel like I am pass that stage of straight cardio.Either it as to be intervals or a long cardio in order for me to feel like I have worked.
I also know what your talking about when it comes to eating.I can't even begin to tell you how many sweets I have eaten in the last week. Its terrible.I am in love with sugar and it is the only thing I crave.
We could try to kick the cravings together? Im up for it.I will even throw everything in my cupboards out if I have to. I think I would see amazing results if I didn't pick at cookies and choc.so much. And alot of the time I don't even want it but I eat it anyway.
Its just a thought.I know that we are MILES AND MILES away from one another but atleast we can still feel each others pain;( )from the somputer)
I have to work at 7:30 tomorrow morning and I find this day to be the hardest.I am up so early and I find that I am hungry all day.I just mixed 1/2 cottage cheese and a yogurt together for tomorrow morning.
Anyway, off I go to bed.I have to start getting more sleep.
Lori:)

Hello All;
Decided to come over here and wave hi before I collapse into bed .

I have not done any workouts since Friday due to our home project. My hands are soooo sore they are red and feel as if someone has rubbed my palms raw with sandpaper.

Hubby has dropped blood on the tiles esp. after he's cut them (the tiles)...ouch!

Granted my kitchen floor is looking lovely ...as hubby has put sweat and blood into putting down that floor; I have been sawing or scraping the thinset (the glue concrete that holds the tile onto the floor) from between each tile to get the floor ready for the grout which may happen tommorrow.

Anyways, BodyMax is next on my rotation so I may do it Tommorrow while everyone is gone, will need to use my 13 y/o's room until maybe next week.

Today I just could not do anything but nap and catch up on some rest.

Brenda would you believe I have owned Rythmic step for over a year and a half and still not done it yet? LOL ...from hearing what has been said I look forward to it, sounds challenging & fun. hmmm I may just slip that one in this week hahaha.

Suppersets is another one I have not touched...oh so many videos/dvds to choose from.

Hope all is well witheveryone. Catch y'all tommorrow . I need sleep.
