basc step and body fusion

I really enjoy Body Fusion. I think it's a great workout to give a beginning Catheite a broad look at how her workouts progress. I've been working out for a while, so I don't consider myself a beginner by any means, but I learned the footwork quickly and still felt challenged cardiovascularly. I wasn't out of breath, but I worked up a nice sweat. It's a great workout for someone just starting out, IMO....and I will occasionally write this into my rotation for a light workout during a heavy week, just in case I don't feel up to doing higher intensity.

Has your coworker ever worked out or will this be a whole new thing for her/him? Your coworker shouldn't feel bad if they have to stop the workout halfway through a few times. They may need to work up to doing it "full length" (that's what I did with Step Blast - I broke it into segments to learn it and get used to the intensity - and now I can zip right through the whole thing without stopping). You should encourage your coworker to only work out for 15-20 minutes for the first few times if they've never worked out. As they feel more able, they can increase their workout duration. But doing too much too soon is the surest way to make them stop exercising.

thanks for the advise. she has never worked out before. i was going to also suggest getting 3 and 5 pound weights for body fusion.

Hi,
I am new to Ctahe and orderred the basic Step & Body Fusion. I love the DVD.
It is great for being new to Cathe and I think more step workouts are easy to follow, okay, easier than Cathe's other step workouts. I did not feel as klutzy doing this. Your friend will love these.

Yes, 3 and 5 pound weights are excellent choices for starters! I'll bet they'll be sore the day after, even though they'll just be using 3 pound weights! :D Might I also recommend learning the routine on the floor first (without the step)? Sometimes the step can cause the "clumsies" for someone who's not familiar with it, but by being on the floor, there's no threat of falling and tripping over it. Also, you'd be amazed at how much intensity the step can add to a workout. Being an asthmatic, I usually have to do my step routines on the floor, because when I add the step I can barely breathe after about 10 minutes. Adding a step turns Body Fusion into a high intensity workout for me. :7

But before you know it, your coworker will be building a home gym and trying to decide, "Do I get a medicine ball, a high step, or a barbell next?" and "Should I get Step Blast, Rhythmic Step, or the Hard Core series next?" Decisions decisions! :7

Keep us posted on your coworker's progress. I'd love to hear how it's going.

I started out on Cathe with Basic Step and Body Fusion and I love it!
It's a great tool for learning the basic concepts of step aerobics and the toning portions are pretty tough!}( :) }(

Have a great work out!
