Barefoot on Plyo Legs

Hi Cathe,

Is it ok to do Plyolegs barefoot? (I've been doing all your workouts barefoot)

Barefoot is fine! You can still break with foot with shoes on, so that really isn't an issue. We were born without shoes! Our ancestors did everything shoeless! I wear Vibram FF shoes which are a minimalist shoe. I use them for everything from running to kickbox and weight training! My plyo workouts are great in them! it's just like working out barefoot. Search for a thread in OD. There's been a lot of discussion about different workouts barefoot!
 
I would NOT recommend doing STS Plyo Legs barefoot. There is a lot of jumping onto and off of the step platform at a higher elevation. You need the stability a shoe will provide. The top surface of the steps is usually textured and would be very much not comfortable in bare feet. Additionally, your feet could slip more easily and it just wouldn't be safe. While many workouts are just fine to do in barefeet (kickboxing, for example), this plyo workout is not one of them.
While we may have been born barefoot, there are very good reasons shoes were invented!
 
Oh yea, I forgot there were weights in that workout, too! yikes!
Change my NO to ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! haha
