Bare Essentials?

Does anybody use Bare Essentials make up? I saw an infomercial and know one person that uses it and she swears by it. I need something different and something light, this looks pretty good.

Just wondering if there were any reviews out there?

I started using it 2 years ago - and I will never use anything else. It feels so light and looks natural and yet it covers my shadows and my uneven skin tone areas! It does take a little bit to really get used to applying it correctly - otherwise it will look cakey. I use two colors, one light as a highlighter for my shadow areas(fairly light) and then med beige for the rest. If you use the foundations the Mineral Veil is a must - regular powder just doesn't do it justice. Also the blushes are amazing! Perfect colors! The eyeshadows are pretty but I do not think they have lasting all day color. I prefer Lancome eyeshadows.

Good Luck!

Marcia,
I have been using Bare Essentials for six months and I love it. I also saw the infomercial but hesitated ordering from the T.V. I was able to get it at the Sephora by my house, they carry the entire line. I purchased the starter kit first and have since added to my collection, eye shadows, blush, face shimmers etc. I have worked in the make-up industry for about five years so I am quite a skeptic. If you have any other questions about it let me know.

I just went to Sephora and had them do a makeover I purchased the starter kit. My routine is much different from the infomercial and how they do it. I actually have to use a concealer for my dark undereye circles, I did purchased this cream for $52 to correct it we will see. I have dry skin and I am noticing even with my moisturizer the powder/brush combination is still drying and causing flaking but the look you achieve is amazing so I will see at the end of this product if I will reorder. Good Luck. Let us know how it goes.

You guys almost have me convinced to try this stuff. Is it better to go to Sephora and get a makeover or do you think I can pick the proper colors myself?

Candi,

If you can get to a Sephora, I'd go there to try it out. A LOT of people have found BE to be too shiny/shimmery for them - either it works fabulously for you, or it really *doesn't* work for you. I haven't seen any truly in-between folks (do a search over on alt.fashion if you are interested in reading more reviews - this has been covered over there a number of times). That said, I believe that QVC has a good return policy if it ends up not working for you.

I would recommend giving it a trial before buying, too. I'm one of those who found that BE makes me look too shiny, and very "made-up." On the other hand, I have a dear friend who looks totally natural and gets perfect coverage with it. For my part, I'm glad I didn't buy before trying.

If you buy Bare Escentuals through QVC, you have a 30 day return policy. Even if you use up the stuff (which would be tough), you can return the empty containers and get a refund.
